Le Son de la Terre

An absolute magnificent performance by @maedefays 🎤 with her dad @oldeuf 🎷. She has the most delicate, sensitive and oh! so feminine voice, and when father and daughter start question-and-answer scatting, it just melts my heart. Fantastic veteran @depreissac 🎹 , a young and very impressive @solcairo 🎻 and @germain_cornet 🥁 🤩!! The evening was very much inspired by #nancywilson and #cannonballadderley as well as #cliffordbrown and #artblakeyandthejazzmessengers … absolutely totally up my alley!! She even sang new compositions in French, music ✍🏻 by the dad 🎷 and lyrics by the daughter 🎤 … what a great quintet ! I’m a fan … I hope to see them again!! Thank you so much for hosting @sondelaterre !!!

On avait découvert Maë DEFAYS avec son dernier album Deeper Ocean, une artiste complète chanteuse, musicienne et danseuse durant un concert en acoustique. Cette fois-ci c'était avec son père, un merveilleux saxophoniste et flûtiste, ainsi que trois talentueux musiciens. Elle nous a fait découvrir ses talents de chanteuse de jazz, et de scat! Une merveilleuse soirée dans un cadre fantastique dans une péniche au pied de Notre-Dame !

Liv Monaghan was on fire! The entire band was. What a voice. What creativity. What power to bring an audience through all the emotions and all with a unique tone in all respects of the word. Unique is rare and Liv is absolutely that...sadly because I'd love more of it!! Spoke to others at concert and everyone blown away by her range and felt all the emotions. Don't know how to put it into words --bet liv would---but it was truly magical...and something just too rare. Well done to the four of them but particularly to the lead Liv who wrote and drove it and to Sava too. ENCORE (and indeed thanks for that after what was already an insanely generous gig!)
