Wendel Concert Stage

Outstanding and exhilarating ~ at first the trio looked tiny on the expansive outdoor stage and then the fiddle went up to Rose’s chin as Brian and Caroline began to strum ~ House of Hamill filled the night air with joyful tunes, drawing the crowd’s attention. Hands around me began to clap, feet stomp and boom ~ we were all in Ireland, if just vicariously, through the music filling the air. Becoming larger than life, Rose danced across the stage in fuchsia pants, representing a sense of liveliness, and playfulness as the band stood out boldly taking on the open air and the setting sun in Lancaster, OHIO. The set flowed with ease from one original song to another with snippets of their lives revealed in storytelling between tunes. Their harmonic voices were a soothing blanket of trust and hope. We didn’t want them to stop! House of Hamill left us wanting more as the audience rose from their blankets and camp chairs, begging for more. It’s rare to see an opener engage the audience as House of Hamill did that night and it’s even more rare to capture and corral a large group of people (thousands!) who are spread out across a field. Thank you, Lancaster Fest and House of Hamill for making this a night to remember and revisit through your music.
