MGM Music Hall at Fenway

Let me be straight with everyone, I never leave a five-star review because I always feel like a band can improve and make the experience more enjoyable. However, Spiritbox’s Tsunami Sea tour was absolutely amazing and nothing can take away from their momentum and dedication to their fans. Their setlist was varied so you got something whether you are a new fan or an older one like me. Their stage show actually had a vibe that felt like you were underwater and being dragged along with them as they told a story that showed us why they belong as a headliner. I was more than a little impressed. Even if you don't like metal, you'll enjoy this show. Go see them and decide for yourself.

What else would you expect to hear from best musician on the planet… Joe warmed up slowly and followed to absolutely fucking explode… changed guitar between and in some cases like at the end of encores he started How Many More Times by Zep with a Gibson and about half way through he picked up a Strat and tore the place down. Last song for encore, he talked for a bit about his band complaining and bitching about last song… he said they normally do goin down, he put his foot down and said Mountain Time… slow to explodes … great night

Great show! One of my wife and my favorite DG concerts having seen him perform 9 or 10 times. He jumped right into his song catalog which we loved; he brought energy to the crowd on every song and later interwove new material from his Dear Life latest album which the band did a great job playing. It was fun to see Clune again on stage, theatrically performing on drums. Just 1/2 star off for inconsistent sound quality at this venue … couldn’t hear background vocals early on and later on the balance of instruments wasn’t great. Maybe it was due to this being the first gig on the tour. But David’s voice was strong and beautiful throughout, his enthusiasm, humor and unabashed joy being on stage carried the evening! He had the whole crowd on its feet singing Babylon, Sail Away and other standards. We / Boston LOVE you, David!

Last night we saw Aurora live at MGM Music Hall. She is an absolute force of nature. I have been to somewhere between 250-300 concerts in my 48 years on this planet. This was the 2nd greatest live show I have ever seen. Behind only Pink Floyd at Ohio Stadium in 1995. Aurora was worth every penny spent. She not only is the total package with voice, stage presence, personality and physicality, but she performed non-stop for an hour and 45 minutes. I can't stress this enough. If you have the opportunity to see her in person do miss out. The lighting and SFX were also incredible. Words just can't do this show justice. She is angelic and you can't take your eyes off of her.

Great show! He was happy to be back playing in Boston and so was I (and the crowd). MGM is a great hall, it's big, but has almost no obstructed views. Just don't drive into town. I took my bike to the train, then the Red Line and Green Line (to Kenmore) and walked to MGM. [Easier when there's no Red Sox game full of people competing to get on the train when heading home though!] :)

Sting 3.0 is the quintessential Artist in every sense ! His music transcends time. He always involves the audience in his classic playlist rolls in his grand trio, with Dominic Miller and Chris Maas, makes you feel right at home. Great job in combining songs of his Police and solo work. Roxanne, Driven to Tears, King of Pain, Walking on the Moon, Englishman in NY, Desert Rose, Shape of My Heart, Message in a Bottle, Every Breath you take, Fragile, If I ever lose my Faith in You, Fields of Gold, Every little thing she Does is Magic, to name a few ! He talks his way through the songs and interacts so beautifully even asking - " what do you want to hear?". Encore of course ! He. brings us all in with an energetic participation from the loyal and never fail Boston fans ! Sunday nite, Oct 6, at the Music Hall at Fenway, his guest on the piano brought the house down with his solo work and Winton Marsalis jazz flavour was nothing short of awe!

Great show, lots of energy from the crowd and from Marie. She was literally running around the stage all night. Great selection of songs, new and old. Towards the end she talked about starting a mosh and getting into the crowd herself. The mosh never happened (thankfully) and while she did jump into the crowd, it kinda took some of the energy out for those who weren't *right there*. She had someone in the crowd sing Sabrina's part in "You Need Me Now?", which was pretty cool. The bass was at times way too strong, actually reverberating/resonating with her voice leading to really uncomfortable sensations in my chest and ears. The opener (Momma) was fine? I couldn't hear the vocals unless they were both singing. Guitar too grungy, but I can see their recorded stuff being less intense and something I appreciate more.

What an unbelievable experience! Normally, you plan to see Guster for the fun banter and the music that we have come to know and love. But, they certainly outdid themselves with their "We Have Eras Tour". It was a great show composed of silly skits, humorous jokes and great music that retold the story of their 3+ decades of creating and performing together. By the end of the show, we were left only wanting more. Although, sadly, this was the last show of the tour! The good news, though, is that they've got a new album coming out this Spring - and I cannot wait to see them again!

Man, is she ever a talented artist! Really loving the new album - and how well her song writing has evolved over the years. My ONLY complaint is that I was REALLY looking forward to hearing "Medicine" - and I think she played in nearly every show... except this one! Still, though, I really enjoyed everything else she and the band put together for us. Her show opener, Brittney Spencer, was a great addition too!

The event was AMAZING, the boys always put on an unforgettable show. The venue was clean and staff was friendly. Our only wish was knowing more about the fast pass program, which we absolutely would have paid for if we were aware. Arriving five hours before showtime didn’t matter, if you had a fast pass you got in before us waiting. The boys debuted a new song AND Hozier joined for the end of Salt, so all in all it was a perfect evening. FYI: Parking in Boston is a nightmare, if you have not been here before please plan ahead. Forget public transportation afterwards, no one is getting in or out of that street for quite some time - especially if there’s also a show at House of Blues across the street, or a game at Fenway.

The show was absolutely amazing!! I had the best time ever and will remember it for years to come. I ended up having a medical emergency toward the end of the show and from what I’m told, the band stopped the show and made sure everyone was safe before continuing. I am eternally grateful towards the band and staff for making my dream of seeing this band come to life and help support me in a time of need. Thank you :)

Jimmy Eat World was phenomenal! I usually hang out in the pit but since I went by myself, I upgraded to a mezzanine seat and saw their show for the first time from a different perspective. To see the crowd engaged, responding to every bit of the show, the instruments, the vocals, the lights, the melodies and harmonies, the band just truly rocked! The playlist was awesome and with each song I was able to turn around and look at the crowd from every perspective, above below, to the left and the right. They were all beautifully engaged, the band was beautiful, along with the other artists, and the night was an amazing for me, never once did I feel alone. So glad JEW pick this venue and looking forward to seeing them next year!

Awesome Show! Excellent Venue! Lorna Shore Impressed me with their musicianship. The bands accurate Chord and Tempo changes were supported solidly by their diverse vocalist. His ability to growl through multiple tones was innovative, and something I had not heard before. New Jersey Metal was representing last night! Mastodon proved yet again that they are a Dominant Metal Force! They shredded the stage with Powerful Bass Heavy riffs and their enthusiasm was contagious. Many times throughout the set they would give a little extra driving the pit into a frenzy! Gojira was Phenomenal! Razor Sharp from the whole Band. From Vocals to Percussion. They hit Hard and Clean. Gojira is in my opinion, one of the best Metal Bands out there right now. A complete package. They are all superior musicians and I had a great time!!

Seats in section 307 are tight to get to, but comfortable seats. Was bummed I missed get up kids, the startling line did a+, NFG made me shed tears when talking about infusions and what Chad’s going through. Merch line was weird on the stairs but had a sign girl. Cool rooftop bar, expensive drinks. You can hear the performance in the bathrooms - makes you feel like you’re not missing a thing. Transportation to venue is traffic jams or subway and walking.

This was a great show I’ll go through a few things Venue: great sounding and looking venue getting in was a breeze and the getting a drink was pretty easy. Drinks were not cheap, but what is at a concert venue. Merch line: I’ve seen smaller lines for space mountain. Bands: The Get up kids: Fantastic, I was glad to see Masspike was played especially we were only 30 feet from it. Kind of wished it was a longer set. I will say to the kids who saw them for the first time they will be picking up something to write home about after. The starting line: Good solid set it was good to see them again after years of not seeing them. New found glory: Great set really energizes the crowd. Living in south Florida the Pat 8 years I got to see them a lot. I was glad to see Chad playing and giving great speeches of how his cancer treatment was going. All American rejects: Theatric and very good. That it. They were great played all the hits. Would see again. So the only down fall was a giant sold out Morgan Wallen show was being held in Fenway park and made getting on the T kind of hard. I will return to this Venue next month for death cab and I’m very excited for it.

Another incredible show! Time marches on and youth may be fleeting but for Garbage, age is just a number. They continue to go hard and never fail to steal a show. I've always considered them to be a supergroup of sorts. And when they take the stage, you don't know this, you feel this truth about them. But that doesn't mean they play in a way that condescends in any manner of speaking. No, they command attention but they "melt faces" as the kids say these days, with aplomb. This is a powerful piece of art in motion. There's passion and anger but it's still rock. It's 90s to now alternative that is unapologetic. It's seering and brash but with care and precision. Garbage albums are always seamless experiences. Polished gems of musical craftsmanship and the live experience is no less brilliant. To say they are exactly like the record though, not at all. They shake it up. They keep you on your toes as it were. From alternate bass lines or changed timing, they never lose the grit but the live experience is such that you walk away needing to relisten to the catalogue. I say all of this with an odd caveat, I've only ever seen them open for others. For such a powerhouse of musicians to always be the bridesmaid is a bit odd but, in a sense, I think it works. They were such an integral part of my musical teenage years that I can't separate them from the pther bands I listened to at the time. And for that, having them as the opener for any band of that era or genre will always work. Just be warned, they steal the show. You may go a fan of whatever band or artist was the headliner but you'll leave a Garbage fan. Amd if you go as a fan, your appreciation will only increase. Side note, bonus points for them stopping to help a fan that was having an issue. Directing the crowd and alerting staff to help them was huge. They aren't just people, they are also genuinely cool people. Cool people that make amazing music.

I’ve seen Styx at least ten times and this was definitely my favorite concert! They were fired up and ready to put on an amazing performance! They played two one sets with a twenty minute break, playing many songs I’ve never seen performed live. I loved the venue, MGM at Fenway in Boston is a great place to see a concert! Tommy Shaw was spectacular, as usual! Along with the guitars he usually plays, he played the mandolin and a banjo. He is an amazing musician!! The entire band was fantastic!!

I didn't get to make it to this show sorry guys u know I want to listen to final thoughts and whack myself but I heard if I do that I'll go straight to hell cuz you're going to let your head hang down a low put another bullet in but I cannot do anything like that because I have to wait until January to everything's dying feels like obituary hasn't made an album since a monarch have headlined forever can't wait I don't owe any tattoos Brothers merchandise so Donald I seen that you have a brand new t-shirt I need it in the 2X and I'd love to hear another tardy'sbrother you got Kenny now that will help if I had it my way I would have had you guys play this whole show or try getting the metal chicks Kitty to play with you because I think for the show they had the wrong mindset and definitely the wrong time can't wait I'll be at the next show that pic is from last show with Trevor

incredible performance last night in boston. the band was perfection and let me tell you- this is the most underrated artist of our generation. ray and the band sounded like they were playing a studio album. that is how amazing they sound. Flawless! the set list was also perfection. i was in tears most of the show because it was so moving, gripping. who cares if he doesn’t interact with the crowd. he gives back with his music. can’t wait to see him again. however the venue needs to figure out it’s sound and make sure the doors stay shut for such a performance. it was so loud outside and people kept opening the doors. so rude and disruptive.

I first saw The Mars Volta in 2005 at Lupo’s in Providence RI, a few weeks before my 18th birthday. That show changed my life. Seventeen years later, last night’s show was somehow even better. The live band is a collection of amazing musicians that you should take any chance you can get to see. Magic happened at that show. The venue was decent. Good-sized floor area and all seats seemed to have good views. They’re fully cashless, including merch. The bag check was an absolute disaster after the show, so skip that entire thing if possible.
