About John Wesley's New Room
John Wesley’s New Room is the oldest Methodist building in the world, located right in the heart of Bristol city centre. Founded in 1739, it is home to the original 18th century Chapel, as well as a Museum of John & Charles Wesley's life and work in Bristol. John Wesley's New Room also houses an award-winning Café and a vast reference Library.
Folk at the New Room is a monthly concert in the beautiful historic Chapel. Gigs are acoustic and artists perform by candlelight. Gigs usually start at 7.30pm, with doors at 7pm. John Wesley´s New Room bar and café are open beforehand serving local ales, cider, wine, hot drinks, soup, and a delicious selection of homemade cakes.
Previous artists include Peggy Seeger & Calum MacColl, Three Cane Whale, Sam Sweeney, Karen Tweed, Methera, Sid Goldsmith, Jimmy Aldridge, Leveret and Ian A Anderson
