X was just plain awesome - sad to think this many be one of the last times I’ll see them live and in person playing the songs that are a part of my life.
I’ve been a fan of X since 1980 when I first saw them in LA. I’ve seen many shows all over California. They were really on fire in this show . It was awesome and reminded in many songs of the way they played way back in the early 80s loved the show.
This was our first time at this venue. The sound was good, and the sightlines were good. We were up in the balcony or mezzanine.
We were not familiar with either act, but we knew one of the members of Moonsville Collective from a previous band. Both acts were very good, very interactive with the audience and were great musicians.
The style might be to everyone's liking, but we were used to that style, having experience with that style previously. Good music, and good musicianship, are always in style no matter the genre.
Definitely going to see this band again. Bought the CD after the show - then 2 others from website. Awesome music. Just a warm up gig for Michelle Branch this night but I was impressed. Need to see them play longer …
Perfect venue. Ricky Lee was a personable storyteller and she still has that voice that made her famous. The only issue was she didn’t play We Belong Together, so I cried, but seriously it was a great show.
JMF is the ultimate Jerry Garcia experience hands down. Garret has that Jerry tone down and several times I closed my eyes and thought I was hearing Jerry again.
Todd is just a great songwriter. His songs are not just the same thing over and over. He’s got a great voice and the whole band brings it. And to cap off the evening with the Ramones was just perfect. A good time was had by all.
Both Friday and Saturday's shows were outstanding. I cannot say the same, however, for the Guild Theater. Although the first night we were pretty packed in, the second night found a series of chairs on the lower level, making the standing room only region exceptionally tight.
Had there been an emergency requiring quick evacuation I believe that numerous casualties would have resulted. The Guild is a GREAT theater but not when it's packed to the gills - which it was Saturday night.
Hopefully they'll consider reducing the number of tickets sold in order to make the venue safer for all concerned.
But as far as Molly and the Golden Highway - FIVE SOLID STARS !!!!
Amazing venue!! First time I have been here, but definitely not the last. One of the best venues I have been to!!!! Awesome concert by BTE as usual!!
James was there with his band . So that is what we got. People around us in audience said we should go to a solo show to get the acoustic, lyric sound we enjoy. Wasn’t bad but not what I was expecting, no streets of Cheyenne, etc. But that was on me. Good but not what I expected. For me will look for a solo concert next time.
One of the best bands you will ever see at one of the best venues you will ever see them! The Meyer sound system at the Guild is absolutely top shelf. No pics or videos allowed and we all complied.
Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway last night at the Guild in Menlo Park was, without a doubt, one of best shows I've seen in a long while. Stellar musicianship from the whole band is just the tip of the iceberg. The sheer joy they project while performing coupled with the chemistry earned from hundreds of hours of playing together was so obvious there wasn't a person in the sold out house that didn't feel it. This being a home town show for Molly only added to the magic that included guest spots by her dad, Jack Tuttle and the legendary Peter Rowan. In addition to Molly's standout originals that are equal parts fun and thoughtful (check out "Side Saddle" and "My Backyard," both on the Grammy winning album "Crooked Tree") the set list included the Rolling Stones' "She's Like a Rainbow" and "White Rabbit," both with extended jams. For the encores they all gathered 'round a single mic and opened with "Standing On the Moon," the Hunter/Garcia medium tempo ballad that never fails to make me cry. Jerry would have loved it.
Outstanding take on 2 classic albums plus some sweet Phish for encore! Highly recommended. As for the Venue,
Unbelievable sound (thanks Meyers!), Friendly and helpful staff and just a great spot for live music.
Amazing show last night!!!
I wasn’t sure how one band could do Pink Floyd and the Talking Heads! Boy my concerns were immediately diminished.
These guys rocked it.
One of my favorite concerts.
Come back to the Guild!!!!!
Berlin was phenomenal! Terri Nunn made the crowd feel like part of the family at a fabulous and not-so-traditional holiday celebration. Every beyond-talented member of Berlin shined and gave everything to the audience. They gifted us with all our favorites and a perfect curation of holiday songs, including an impromptu closing of Adam Sandler’s “The Hanukkah Song.” The band covering AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” was an epic surprise that I will never forget! As always, The Guild Theatre was the perfect cozy venue to host such a special, never-to-be forgotten, musical feast!
This show was everything I hoped for.
A great band, playing their music with exuberance.
They were obviously having as much fun as the audience.
I’ll see them again the next time they come to town.
Love the new venue, enjoyed the show for sure as always. Thanks Mike, another kick ass time for this Cotten top! (I prefer to call my grey, “Chrome”). See ya next time!
Glen Phillips never disappoints. It was awesome to see him in concert again. He interacts very well with the crowd and has a great sense of humor. He sounds just as good live as he does on recorded work. An amazing voice and performer. I will definitely be attending more Glen Phillips shows.
The concert was amazing. The Guild Theatre is a small and intimate venue with great sight lines and sound. Molly's band is exceptional, and we all had a great time.
I mean… c’mon. It’s White Denim! Always a killer show. Guild Theatre had pretty excellent sound too that night. Latest lineup change is excellent too with their new drummer and lead guitar. Excellent as always!
