4/11: Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, Meshuggah
Overall Experience: A+
Best Set: Meshuggah
Least Fav Set: Carcass
Most Disappointing: N/A
Highlight moment: "Rational Gaze" madness
Best Factor: High Energy Crowd
Easily best show of the weekend! Great sound and incredible energy throughout the show, especially during songs like "Hammer Smashed Face" and "Rational Gaze". Wasn't the biggest meshuggah fan going in, but after I gained a whole new respect for the band. For those even remotely into metal music, you HAVE to see meshuggah live. It was a religious experience. And Carcass and CC were excellent as well. Badass show!
Glen Danzig is a strange fellow, albeit entertaining. Band was tight as expected. They played a few songs from each of their first 4 classic albums, which happened to be produced by Rick Rubin and co written by guitarist John Christ who is criminally underrated and most definitely under-credited in the Danzig historical lore.
I didn’t see the first 2 opening bands, so I can’t speak on those. The Kubra Kahn band had an insane fanbase show up for them, but they weren’t my kinda metal. Then KsE started at 9:25 and had a nice setlist overall covering their new album and many of their 25 years of hits from their discography! The highlight of the entire night was the surprise moment when THE GOAT Howard Jones, KsE’s singer for several years, came out and sang Signal Fire with Jesse their original and current singer! I’ll admit it, I was screaming and crying tears of joy most of their set, especially the entire Howard moment!! It was also my personal 20th anniversary of when I first discovered KsE! So a very emotional night!! Cheers
I LOVED this concert! I got a signed vinyl from INK for $100. Only 50 in stock, I was the 32nd person to get one. INK put on a phenomenal performance as well as In This Moment, TX2, and Avatar. Avatar is now one of my favorite bands due to this concert.
The artist is were amazing. The venue was amazing . It was good to see the venue supporting the artist and their music. Giving the audience and fans an opportunity to experience the artist and the music. I think the artist should have a bigger musical play of there Journey from the past to the present. I’m looking forward to seeing more in the future peace.
Love seeing In This Moment, but this one was a let down. Couldn't see anything but silhouettes, lost the dances when dressed in white all because of the fog. Three levels up and could not see anything. The fog was so thick I had to leave to breathe.
This show is better in an amphitheater. I will try again with the hopes they can lessen the fog. Ice Nine Kills also used fog machines but you could see.
Martin Fry is always amazing.
He is the show and headliner...
Great song list and great vocals still - always worth the price.
He is a great artist and continues to out shine others of his age!
Best of the 80's by far! Go see them if you get the chance!!!!!!
Loren is a sophisticated seasoned artist, tho she only performed 2 fave songs, I felt cheated coz I wanted more of her. There were so many performers included in that show and they were great to listen and watch. Loren probably had to fly elsewhere as she was not present in the closing portion… that’s how busy she is nowadays.
I do look forward to watching her in NJ and Orem as she’s the headliner of these 2 concerts .
The venue had adequate space, I didn’t feel cramped in the seating section I chose. Thank you
From start to finish they slayed. Paul Banks is the consummate front man. He oozes legit coolness. Frankly, so do all the band members, especially bassist, Carlos Denglet. These guys look like could they go from stage, immediately to an album shoot. I digress. They play their songs as if they were just created. They’re so alive, both visceral and intellectual. The vocals and instruments blend perfectly and flow right into your being. They move you. You become apart of them. And, they’re fun to sing along and jump around to with everyone else around you, infectiously following suite. Thank you Interpol. I cannot wait to see you again.
Extreme kicked ass! Great show! They performed better than expected, and their set list was awesome! Gary Sharone moves around the stage like he was born in Vegas, and Nuno Bettencort is easily one of the best guitarists on the planet! The bass and drums were tight and super heavy. I would definitely see another Extreme show.
Living Color had a great set list also, Vernon Reid and the band played great, but the lead vocals weren't mixed well. Corey Glover's voice sounds as good as ever, but we could barely hear it, and he seemed a little tired.
Overall, had a great time watching some badass musicians do their thing.
It was fun! =)
Best live show I’ve seen yet! They put on an absolutely incredible performance, as well as their openers I See Stars and ERRA. You can tell they, their crew and support work so hard to put on the best possible show, and I definitely think they all deserve a shout out for their hard work and dedication
Noah sounded AMAZING despite being sick. The boys were freaking fantastic! Only issue was the workers letting people down in GA when clearly wasn’t enough room. It was beyond hot. One drunk lady who was pissing off everyone around her and ruining the show. But I will be a lifelong fan of Bad Omens. They forever have my heart and support! Thank you Noah, Jolly, Nick and Nicholas! You guys killed it!
Chris and the band did not disappoint. They put on an awesome show, despite Chris having to cancel a show last week due to having bronchitis. The even stopped at the beginning of a song to make sure an injured fan was ok. After they got him out of the crowd safely, they started the song all over again. I love how they made sure everybody was ok before continuing w/ the show. I'll always be a fan for life, and will definitely be going to see them again, next time they're in Vegas!!!
* Artist|Talent: Deon Cole was on time, engaging and successfully entertained a diverse audience.
* Venue: Driving time from hotel on main strip (Caesar’s Palace) to the Virgin Hotel was reasonable, considering the weather, traffic and all around Saturday activities.
* Event Staff: Unsure if this was an independent contractor or part of The Virgin Hotel Staff, but their management of the entrance, valid ticket verification and seating process was OK - at best. Found it disappointing to discover that “no access” signs had been taped to the bathroom doors prior to the comedy show ending. Thru an ADA lens, an announcement or notification to its patrons of that “policy” should have been made or disclaimed on the venue entrance’s signage. *Maybe The Virgin Hotel decided to enforce the “no bathroom access” policy given the ethnic footprint of its attending constituents? Regardless, their approach to get everyone “outta” the venue was tremendously cumbersome.
* Venue Valet Staff: Again, unclear if this group was an independent contractor or part of The Virgin Hotel Staff, but they were RUDE! Given that the Virgin Valet Team is primarily responsible for any patrons’ very first and last impression of their experience; I won’t be booking any events, conferences, room stays or referring any of my clients to The Virgin Hotel-Las Vegas. That hotel staff should Thank the Nobu Hostess team for saving their day on 8/19/2023.
Advice to the Purchaser - Go see your favorite Artists or Concerts SOMEWHERE ELSE until The Virgin Hotel Las Vegas can match the service standards of their cruise line. ~All8sHR
Da bomb diggity... END OF STORY!! Took my daughter to this (and her first ever show) on the 21st, then did the floor with husbie the 22nd. Came for Ice Nine... ended in Ronnie lovers UNITE! Only difference from the Virgin 100s seats and above, and the floor, you didn't get to see the laser show while on the floor. It was far above you. I'll never miss these 4 bands in the future though for sure that's a fact
Great show. Ronnie of Falling in Reverse has such a wide range of genres that handles so well. Ice Nine Kills put on a great show. However the singer's voice couldn't be heard well on several of the songs. The high-pitched screaming by several of the female audience members was very distracting.
Was a great show and Ice Nine Kills pulled off a killer set before Falling in Reverse took the stage. There seemed to be some technical issues either on the house end or sound team's end. Was really throwing Ronnie Radke off his game and he was obviously upset. Despite the issues, he managed to keep the show together and pull off a fantastic show
The boys were great, as usual. However, the merch line/Sperry poster melee was surreal. I’ve never seen a fist fight for posters, but there was at least one Saturday. Venue should have handled access a little better. Things ran smoothly by Sunday night. And hey ‘good people’, those fighting for a poster Saturday night—-that’s not the kind of behavior usually displayed at shows. If you’re energy is that negative—-stay at home.
+This is my 3rd time seeing Papa Roach live and I’m thrilled to say it. I throughly enjoyed myself last night it was completely worth it to see them perform in a somewhat new venue. I remember when Virgin Hotel and Casino was the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and it was called the Joint.+++
Once again, Slash, Myles, and Todd, Frank, & Brent F’n rocked. Every time we see them, I get more impressed. We sat in one of the suites for the first time and loved it. Great show and can’t wait to see them again.
