One of the best live shows I’ve been to! I wanted to see him 10 years ago when I first discovered his music and it just so happened he was going to be in Toronto that week! It was such a coincidence but unfortunately I had travel plans. Since then I’ve followed his career and music and am always surprised how many people don’t know of him. I finally got the chance to see him this week in Toronto and the venue was great as it wasn’t too big and it we were quite close. The music was amazing, the atmosphere, and James and his band just seemed genuinely happy to be there. I definitely won’t be missing any of his future shows near me! It was just one of those shows where you could come in off the street, know nothing of the artist or their songs, and have an amazing time just appreciating the amount of talent, energy and enthusiasm that was happening. Like I said, I’ll be there any time he comes to Toronto!
James Bay live is something else. As great as he sounds on his albums, he somehow sounds even better in person. I caught his show at History in Toronto, and it was honestly one of the best live performances I’ve seen.
The venue itself is fantastic. The sound quality is crystal clear, and the space is just the right size to feel both intimate and energetic.
The setlist was spot on. He played all the hits the crowd was hoping for, along with some new songs from his latest album that already feel like classics. Every track felt carefully chosen and perfectly placed in the flow of the night.
James Bay’s connection with the audience stood out. He’s funny, warm, and genuinely engaged. You could tell he wasn’t just going through the motions. The rest of the band was equally into it, playing with a lot of heart and energy.
The lighting and stage setup added a lot to the experience. It never felt overdone, just the right vibe to match the mood of the music. Everything came together to create an atmosphere that felt special from start to finish.
If you ever get the chance to see James Bay live, do it. His talent, stage presence, and the overall show make for a night that’s absolutely worth it.
Holy mother of fucking god… The energy…
This was genuinely was the most fun I’ve ever had at a concert!! I wouldn’t have called myself a fan of bbno$’s music (I liked a couple of his songs) before this but I was a fan of him as a person as I’ve watched a bunch of interviews and love his social media presence; but now I can confidently say that I’m also a fan of his music.
The performers were amazing, the crowd was amazing, everyone I’ve met was great. Hell even after the show was over the crowd kept dancing and Rasputin started playing and a dance circle was formed in the middle of the floor. This man has garnered a truly kind, welcoming and beautiful community of listeners.
GO SEE HIM NOW‼️‼️
Loved it!! Saw 26 Bands in 2024 and this was THE TOP! anddd Saw Johnny Running on The Board-Walk @ KEW Beach while chilling on a Bench waiting for the show! AND Fuck,, WOW JAMES! I was thinking ok I know some JAMES tunes! Ahhh 1 show and JAMES in my top 5 most listened to for 2024! and I started Oct 15th! Can't wait for MARR and Hopefully JAMES come back to Toronto! and Johnny lets go for a Bike Ride, Runnings to hard on the knees! :) AWESOME SHOW!
I’m a HUGE JA fan but to be honest, the show I saw in Dublin in March was different from the show I saw last night in Toronto. Dublin was phenomenal! I was starstruck. I took my daughters last night to see him in our hometown and it was a bit lacklustre in comparison. It was still a great performance but the vibe was much more calm and chill. It was also a shorter concert. I would have been unhappy if I paid more that what I did for the box seats ;for a show less than 1.5hrs. Just wasn’t a memorable night for me unfortunately.
Amazing energy! Amazing vibes! Amazing performance! If you're considering going but not sure if you'll enjoy it, I promise - you will! I've been a fan of Damian for about 20 years at this point, and finally getting to see his show was so special for me. He did not disappoint. And Stephen did his thing! They were amazing together! If he were coming back to Toronto tomorrow I'd go again!
Show was phenomenal. Sophie Powers as an opener wasn’t great, but Loveless and Waterparks both put on an amazing show. Lights and sound were awesome. Crowd was quite rude though - very inconsiderate of everyone else near them, pushing and shoving constantly to get close to the front or into the “mosh pit”. That’s probably just because of the younger age of the fan base, though.
So fucking good! Amazing set and energy, visuals were dope and the confetti made me so happy. I danced my ass off. I wanted more! Hope Odesza comes back soon. Phantoms were also top!! Side note: History needs to sort out their coach check situation. It’s highly Dangerous - no crowd control and tons of people pushing and shoving, I was almost crushed at one point it was scary
Opening act Texas King we’re great. Second time seeing BW at History and once again very impressed with this venue. As for BW they did not disappoint even though this was the last stop of tour and everyone must be beat up a little bit. Ian’s vocals were fantastic, his guitar playing wizardly, and the band was tight. The crowd sang lustily along with band, you couldn’t ask for a better Xmas show to wrap up 2023.
Meshuggah as usual were great.
Sound at history is great. Very clean place.
Staff are very friendly.
Not my favorite place for a show.stage is to low to see unless u are jammed in lower floor jnfront of stage(mosh pit area) or payed a crazy amount of money for a seat upstairs.
Viewing isn't great anywhere else. Just tops of heads. It is designed more a dance club than concert hall. . Upstairs sound is OK at best upstairs
They have large tv's everywhere. Never showing the show for people who can't see. Only comercials
The show was my favourite this year, and I've been to about 15 so far! (making up for the lost covid years). The band was just awesome - the backing string quartet was a great addition. The sound was fantastic - best I've heard at History. The crowd loved it, I loved it, the band loved it - you could tell they were having a great time, and that always translates into a great show. And the History venue is now the best place to see bands in Toronto.
Everything was perfect. I had VIP seating and loved the staff and the food and drinks. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and helpful.
BVB, VV and Dark Divine were all high energy and I was totally immersed in the event.
After the show I was able to talk with most members of BVB and their energy was contagious and their compassion was overwhelming.
Excellent experience, would definitely go back to History and will go see BVB whenever they are closeby.
The artists were amazing, but the venue not so much. They wouldn’t let us in because we bought VIP upgraded tickets by mistake, which is weird because how can we buy an upgrade if we didn’t have the tickets to begin with? Then, they told us we needed to buy tickets to get in so we did - four for $66 each. However, they still wouldn’t let us in at the door because they said we just bought access to the sound check. What the hell! We did see the show, but it cost twice as much and we still weren’t allowed in the VIP area even though that’s what I apparently bought in the first place.
First time seeing a band at History. What a great venue. Love the Interrupters! Such great energy and heart. They really connect with the audience. Aimee is definitely my secret crush. Don’t tell my wife! Although I am a relic from the days of the Clash and Ramones. Didn’t know that much about Frank Turner but wow he is amazing live. Even recovering from an illness he really got the audience singing and dancing. Really enjoyed Chuck Ragan as well. Love his voice. A great night for sure!
Show 2759 in the books with a great show and a great evening overall
I knew nothing about Chuck Ragan or The Interruptors, but was extremely pleasantly surprised by both of them. I'm sure The Interruptors would have benefitted from a larger stage, but it didn't appear to slow them down at all
My first time in an indoor standing-only venue since before COVID, so everything started of a bit stressful for me. All stress left as soon as Frank took the stage. A great selection of songs & great audience energy made the whole show a good old fashioned sing along.
My only complaint is I wanted the show to go on much longer.
How to turn a hater into a fan? With hospitality. In October, we had a terrible experience at History, when my 15-year-old son, my wife, and I were denied entry to a concert by The Dead South. It was a 19+ concert, which was not clear at the time of ticket purchase. Shortly after we complained, History's general manager Steven Biasutti contacted us, offered us tickets to any concert in the venue of our choice, and said he was keen to meet us in person. We chose the Amon Amarth concert, which was last night. When we arrived at History, we were greeted by Steven, who gave us access to the VIP area for an amazing night. The place is cozy, and the sound is great. We'll be back! Thanks Steven, for turning a bad experience into an awesome one
I'm only giving 4 stars because of venue location. Nickelback as always was great. But, the show was short for the amount of money I paid for a ticket. I also had to buy a cell phone to go to History. It's an 'All Mobile' venue. Put that all together and I spent over $1500.00 to go. Too expensive for such an early/short show. Bar closed at 9:55pm. Really??? That's insane. Anyways Nickelback was awesome as always. Plus we all got to wish Chad a "Happy Birthday". I just hope he liked the gift I gave him on the 14th. NICKELBACK BEST ROCK BAND!!!!!j
I am praying she can concur the rumoured health issues of touring. For not seeing Demi on stage again would be a shame. The group she put together also shined as bright as Demi's star shines. Big love to the band. The entire concert with the opening act was spot on. Truly any fan would be short of amazed with the talent of this woman. We love you and pray for your future to be full of happiness and prosperity always. Very much enjoyed the well put together play list. Hopefully can see another Demi concert again in the future. If dates can align will def be in attendance again.
5 star performance from Joji, crowd gets maybe 2 stars because of how many times I got shoved by people walking in the crowd late trying to get a better spot, drunk people grabbing and pushing me to get by after I’ve been standing in the same spot for 2 hours everyone wants to see, if you get in the venue late don’t be that guy who shoves their way through. I understand if you’re trying to get to a group of friends but other than that don’t be those people for real so rude
My first time seeing Aurora and my first concert since the pandemic started. Honestly one of the best concerts I've been to. Aurora is so authentic as a performer and a person. She told us funny stories and anecdotes between songs and even paused the show at one point when someone fainted (it was pretty hot in the venue as packed as it was). She reassured the person who had fainted that it was okay (which it was, it happens) and made sure they were taken care of before resuming the show. I wish I could relive this night. One of ehe best of my life! Thank you, Aurora!
