About Sherman's Amusement Park

Sherman’s Amusement Park, opened in 1921 by Frank Sherman, was a popular tourist destination in the Southern Adirondacks until its closure in the early 2010s. In 2019, the park was generously donated to Caroga Arts by George Abdella. Now serving as the home base for the Caroga Lake Music Festival, Sherman’s features an intimate "dance hall" with seating for up to 250 people and a more spacious outdoor performance space that accommodates 1,800 guests.
