Houston Botanic Garden

This was the best concert I've been to in a long time -- two hours of alternative rock music that entertained a packed house with a mixed demographic. Hundreds of fans were on their feet as East of Eado soared through their newest album, Sonic Remedy, as well as some earlier songs. They even performed a few covers, including a version of "House of the Rising Sun" that rivaled the original 1964 rendition by Eric Burdon and The Animals. The band has created an incredibly polished sound with four very talented musicians and a vocalist (Alex Gefers) with considerable range. The Houston-based group closed their performance with "Dripping Gold," which has become sort of an anthem for the group and that had the crowd rocking in anticipation from the first few chords.
