About Ingebrigt Davik-huset
We are the most beautiful cultural center in Ålesund! Here we operate with concerts, standup, shows, cinema, theater and rental.
Ingebrigt Davik, after whom the cultural center is named, was born in Fjørtoft in Ålesund Municipality.
He made his debut on NRK radio in 1959 with the stories from "Taremareby". He also made a children's lesson about all the strange things that can happen in Lissomskogen and about the seagull family in Kekkek and Kjia on Kjaholmen. Ingebrigt Davik from Fjørtoft created her own fairy tale characters in Barnetime for the little ones. Encouraging the imagination of children was important to him.
Ingebrigt Davik was one of the last to help shape the childhood of a whole generation of Norwegians, with his imaginative and unique universe. This is particularly through the children's program on the radio, but also through his books and television programme.
