Loved these guys since 1999. Have seen BOTH of Ken's side-projects in San Diego:: Heavens & Year of the Rabbit
But
This was my 1st time seeing FAiLURE ..
. They did Not disappoint!! The VENUE was probably one of the MAIN reasons for that . It was as intimate a venue as you could get for a national act, such as them. "The Shelter" in Detroit. Comparable to "The Casbah" in San Diego.
My ONLY complaint ( if you will ) is that they DIDN'T play "DiRTY BLUE BALLOONS". That song ... Hell, that ENTIRE ALBUM holds special significance for Me .... All these years later, I gotta say = it was quite AMAZING to see KEN CLEAN, while being CLEAN MYSELF for the 1st time since 1999. ( 4 yrs clean ). It was beautiful 💜✨
I had such a FANTASTIC night! The venue was the perfect size, not too small and not big at all! Failure was mind blowing to see live, they sounded SO amazing and I would a million percent go see them again. The set list was a great mix of their new album and their older stuff and was the perfect amount of time. I’m honored to have been given the set list sheet! Great opening band as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Amazing show!! The guys are always awesome & put everything they have into their performances! Vlado still sings amazingly even while not feeling well! I would go to every show they did if I could! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
she plays a HELL of a show!! the opener was great, people were very sweet, and energy was fantastic! only thoughts were it was very crowded so since I'm about average height I couldn't really see and my partner almost got heatstroke from the humidity! But other than that, 10/10 would go agaib
Always a fun and lively show when Dreamwake are in town. Very cool and approachable guys that appreciate the support. I'm looking forward to see them again.
I was not actually there but I had / have tickets... this was the year dividing the before times from the our current mess so the concert was postponed and then eventually cxlcd... I do have the post of the tour that wasn't though so there was that :D
JEAN FREAKING DAWSON! This man knows how to perform AND be personable to his fans afterwards. I can't say enough good about him so just make it a point to go see him live! He never disappoints.
Was my first time being at The Shelter and what a great concert!!! First time seeing this wonderful band and wow they definitely didn't disappoint. Had such a fun and intimate experience due to the venue and the beautiful way the group interacted with their fans! Didn't seem like there was any more than 100 people there! But it was so loud and full of life. Would definitely be happy to see this band again!! Great performance and setup!!
Danny & the entire Des Rocs kit are incredible. So friendly and just all around lovely. The music was fantastic, great sound and fitting of the atmosphere. Excellent stage presence. This is an artist to see live.
Elliot is absolutely amazing. Their performance and themself. Their energy and interactions with the crowd were fantastic and it was impressive how they jumped along with us even through injury. The bubble g**s were a memorable moment and a wonderful touch for such an intimate and painful song. Their performance was captivating and I wish they had time for a dozen more songs. I can't wait to experience and meet him again. If you feel connected to any of their songs, I encourage you to meet them at their merch table. You will not be disappointed.
It was my first time hearing of the other bands and they were all great as well. If you get close to the stage during Elliot's set, please stay safe as the later performers can encourage rowdiness that may catch you off guard.
I was the oldest person there. I Ave never seen them before but I really enjoyed the show. The sound was great, despite the fact the Shelter is a basement venue the ventilation is incredible. There was very little sweat, except around the mosh pit. The crowd were mainly young, well mannered adults and there were loads of die hard fans singing along to every tune. AJJ is a very smart topical word Smithy band. The lyrics are clear and concise, sharp and witty. Something you don't get with most punk bands. A combination of The Cure, Violent Femmes, The Clash, Cake, and something altogether new.
Im a h*******e fan now.
Yea! My son and Daughter in law were able to meet Blaze and ABK! They had a blast except that they didn’t get all of their VIP merchandise since it was sent to my place and not theirs. But it worked out.
Fantastic show! Long time fan, first time seeing WCAR live. If you like the album, see them live, their message and music is much more powerful in person! The crowd was awesome, great friendly aggressive pit. The venue (= The Shelter) is killer, much nicer than back in the day. All around exceptional value for price of the ticket!
One of the most intimate and emotional shows I've ever been to.
They laid their hearts out for all to see and left all us hometown fans feeling closer than ever before. Through all the processes of grief, to the recovery of healing and growth.
I made new friends from around the states, even as far as Des Moines, Iowa. Though we may not all agree in life view, we are all family. Amazing fan base.
Erra and Invent were absolutely amazing as usual. Erra definitely had different energy for this headline tour. I personally hate Thornhill because the music is so good and the vocalist is just not a good fit I.m.o Invent is the sickest!
Well worth driving half way across state to spontaneously see this group! All the bands were great and it was fantastic that we were able to just hang out after. By far in my top 5 concerts💞🤩
Super high energy, one of the best shows I've seen in 20 yrs (and I'm old!!!). Des Rocs puts on a non-stop rock and roll show! Plus super nice guy at the VIP! Can't wait to see him again!
