Theater De Tamboer in Hoogeveen bestaat al meer dan vijftig jaar en is geopend in 1967. Per 1 januari 2018 is De Tamboer samen met poppodium Het Podium gefuseerd tot de Stichting Cultuurhuis Hoogeveen. Het theater en poppodium bevinden zich ieder op hun eigen fysieke locatie, maar fungeren achter de schermen als één organisatie.
