Tinariwen was amazing, however, the venue (UC Theater), was at capacity and without A/C or proper air ventilation it was not a pleasant experience. Someone even fainted. Not to mention that nowhere on my ticket or email did it say they were not going to start playing until 9pm. Everything said 8pm but that was the opening band. I wish there was more transparency, I would have avoided so much nonsense. Not to mention that the majority of the people attending were inconsiderate and pushed people around to try to cram on the floor in front of the stage. I wish that area had more control from security.
The pits were a ton of fun, the bands that were on the tour gave a hell of a show, everyone was going insane, got a guitar pic thrown at me and I met a few people that were there in October last year and saw Suicidal Tendencies when I was there too. UC Theater is probably my lucky spot for concerts🔥🔥
The music was fantastic. I was lucky enough to have reserved seats. I vast majority of the crowd was standing room only. When I returned to my car I found a window smashed and my friends purse gone. Bummer to end the night that way
Great Show
Only reason for four stars . Mike announced during the Thursday show the Friday show would include the entire first album. Bit if a bummer as the Friday show was added a week or later after initial ticket sales .
But all in all good show Frolic and Possessed put on a good performance and for $40 you really cant complain .
Turned out to be a good show. All bands put in work. Frozen Soul stole the show for me tho. Sounded nice and heavy. Still not a fan of the venue. Seems to have issues with bassist and tuning.
Sanguisugabogg and Aborted for the win on this one. Fucking slayed it!! I don’t know what the hell was going on with the lack of bass players but I think the sound guy had a lot to do with it. Didn’t know how to tune a bass in. Tech problems maybe? Bogg doesn’t have one anyway but Aborted and Osiris do. Aborted even with no bass and being the professional seasoned band they are it barely made a difference. Fetus and suicide however were so drowned out by the bass. Especially Fetus only having a single guitar on stage. You could actually hear the grinding of the pick causing this constant annoying hum through every track. This is like the….shit I don’t even know anymore, like the 20th time seeing Fetus live and it was one of the worst sounding ones so far. With a killer ass set list to. Didn’t hit the floor so not sure about sound down below. Anyway, still one of the sickest line ups so far this year, just me being picky in my old age! Lol. 🤘🤘
The show was amazing finally being able too see some of the bands I love live was worth everything loved the merch and how friendly everyone was even in the mosh pits shit was raw as hell over all 100/10 experience now gotta wait for cannibal corpse to play there.
I went for suicide silence and Dying Fetus. I had seen born of Osiris last year at swanfest, but other than that I'd never heard of any of the opening bands. But they were all fantastic! Amazing show, crowd was nice, and the pits were gnarly! 🤘
amazing. easily one of, if not, the best concert ive been to. the energy was amazing, both from the performers and from the crowd. the lead singer even came down after and took photos and signed merch, it was amazing. i will be waiting and preparing for the next show!!
To witness 40 plus years of Roots and Culture Music with I Queen was a Blessing in this time I an I give Thanks an PRAISE and whoever missed tonight in Napa oh well you missed it
Milton Nascimento is a legend in Brazilian music. I am grateful to you for being able to see him on his last tour.
The venue is fantastic; the event was very organized!
The Movement always put on a epic show, the venue on the other hand sucked. This was my first time going to the UC Theatre and probably the last, unless someone legendary preforms. Honestly, please go back to Cornerstone next time you’re in Berkeley, it’s such a better venue for the fans
This was my first reggae concert & This is my first time seeing Protoje Live. Not only did I get to meet Protoje, Jesse Royal & Lila iké but I felt the music, the words and the beat all over my body - I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.
Thank you Protoje X team
Give thanks
Amazing venue and more than amazing show! All three performances where out of this world and the staff at the venue was more than helpful for both myself and my partner.
NFG always puts in a good show. They always have a ton of energy and make sure we are having the best time! The UC Theatre was an awesome venue and the staff went above and beyond to make it great for us.
The show was awesome and the stars are for Fantastic Negrito, not the venue. UC Theatre, you all need to get it together and make sure your HVAC is in good working order before you pack the house on one of the hottest days of the year. It was UNBEARABLY HOT! Seriously, that was ridiculous! I don’t know how any of the performers were able to tolerate it.
Whether it's a 6-piece band with backing brass instruments and choral singers, or just a stripped-down trio, this band will blow you away with their bluesy rock. UC Theater show was no exception.
everything was nice?the venue hooked me up w a table because im disabled.so that was cool of them, they didnt get down on us for smoking a lil californias finest,I dont think anynody saw us...thas why..but king buffalo played a good set but they slowed down all their songs like half.felt like they mighta got ahold of somethin themselves.real slow.Uncle acid was tight,as alwsys, but it was the quietest uncle show ive ever seen.my ears didnt even ring.ive seen em 5
well now 6 timez and each time they ROCKED the spot.not so much this time.they were tight and it was a good set....but somethin was missing.maybe the crowd was limp maybe tbe venue...who knows..all&all I enjoyed myself but wouldnt go to that spot again if they cant play louder for some liability reason or something.i heard cannabil corpse played a quiet show ghere a couplr days prior.
I had a great time. Drove 6+ hours up north just to see these guys. Only a few small qualms.
1 - the sound mixing for both this band and their opener was off. The vocals were very quiet compared to the drums and guitar. Hard to hear them over the crowd.
2 - the lighting made it hard to even see the performer's faces, and especially to take any pictures or videos
3 - the band only played for about 75 minutes...was really hoping for more of the cataloge.
Overall, a great time and they did a great job. I'd absolutely see them again.
