Rams Head On Stage

Eric Hutchinson never disappoints! This was my eighth "Sounds Like This" tour show - I saw both Solo Acoustic and Band shows...every show was fantastic!!! Eric's style is timeless - his wit and sense of humor are incomparable, and the SLT songs are every bit as relevant today as they were in 2008. Eric took the audience on a fun tour of his music in descending chronological order until he made his way back to 2008 and then he delighted us with the entire SLT album and lots of fun stories in between the songs. Ian on bass and Zach on drums round out the trio! Zach is an enthusiastic drummer and his solo was fantastic! Ian playing solos on bass was a show-stopper; when he and Eric banter with guitar/bass duets, the absolute fun they have is contagious! While, he must be completely exhausted after performing, Eric sticks around after the show to say hi, sign merchandise and old photos from 2008, and take new photos with fans - a very long line of fans!!!!! Sorry that I am writing this review at the end of the SLT tour because I would encourage everyone reading to get out and attend a show! If you have not seen Eric Hutchinson in concert, you should do so with the next tour! Hopefully, this summer!!!! :)

Attended the Patrice Rushen show last night and she and her band put on a phenomenal performance. The sound was great and she played the songs she knew her audience paid to hear. Seating at Rams Head is tight and the drinks are terrible; however, Ms. Rushen was magnificent!

I saw the Wild Feathers for the first time 4 years ago in an arena and yesterday on a small stage! Both have something because the musicians' voices complement each other so wonderfully and - which I really like - is complemented by the catchy melodies! I'm far from being a real music critic and I'm just writing here how much I liked it yesterday - but what I can't understand: why doesn't the band play with this repertoire and ability, for example. b. as an opener for the Eagles? Steely Dan was out just for that😉 In any case, I wish the band lots of ideas for more good songs and perseverance for the next 10 years and I hope to hear them live again soon - even if I always "have to" travel from Germany to do so🤗

It may have been a dark and stormy day in Annapolis—the latest and wettest in a string of abysmal, hazardous air alerts in the region—but the crowd at Rams Head On Stage came to enjoy the tavern and a rollicking night with Justin Hayward and his sweet touring trio… Mike Dawes, Julie Ragins, and Karmen Gould. They’re a tight quartet, enthusiastically collaborating on fresh arrangements of Justin’s classic tunes, just as sprightly on complementing his newest composition, Living for Love. The Rams Head locals and regulars were there, lively and appreciative. Even the collie from their last appearance on 22nd September 2021 was in the house, well behaved and contented. Where else but Annapolis?! The 15-tune setlist was ideally sequenced: The Eastern Sun, Driftwood, Tuesday Afternoon, The Actor, Hope and Pray, The Western Sky, The Voice, Living for Love, Forever Autumn, Never Comes the Day, Your Wildest Dreams, Question, Nights in White Satin, The Story in Your Eyes, and I Know You’re Out There Somewhere. An interesting chronology that follows a now familiar and well-loved theme. Mike Dawes launches the evenings with his own 5-tune setlist. Ever cheeky and just the lead-in to engage the audience, he’s fond of reshuffling his tunes each night. All are drawn from an 8-tune mix of covers and 2 early original compositions of his own, namely: Jump, Somebody That I Used to Know, Purple Rain, Me & You Together, Be My Mistake, All Along the Watchtower, Boogie Shred, and Somewhere Home. The Rams Head has been a regular stop for Justin’s solo forays since the initial Spirits of the Western Sky tours inaugurated in 2013. He’s ensured a packed house and genuinely appreciative audience in Annapolis. Sound was perfect, lighting lent ambience without being over-the-top, and crew kept everything running smoothly… no glitches. Justin’s no slouch when it comes to humor himself. He remains modest and self-deprecating, not cut from the cloth of preening or hi-jinks. Refreshing.

Maggie Rose put on a wonderful show. Her vocal talent is absolutely phenomenal. Her band is incredible they are all very skilled musicians. Maggie and the band hung around after the show for meet and greets. I love going to see Maggie always a great show. The venue is intimate with great sound quality.

I attended the show at the Carpenter Center in Richmond, VA, not Rams Head on Stage. I'm sure this concert will be just as wonderful as the one in Richmond, VA. Justin Hayward NEVER disappoints an audience. He still sounds wonder after so many years.

Rams Head is a GREAT! place to see a concert. Of Good Nature was AMAZING and it appears that they just keep getting better an better as time goes by. The show had so much energy and I was amazed to see they added a sax player to the show... I love seeing them live in concert and if you get the chance to catch a live show you will not be disappointed. They are so much fun to watch live! Thanks for a Great time! I can't wait to see you again.

Marcia Ball was outstanding. Her Sax player who sat in was great. Special shout out to Tinsley Ellis who played GREAT ACOUSTIC GUITAR. It really brought out his singing when he could be heard above his guitar and highlighted his virtuosity on guitar. I loved the whole set list for evening

These guys are TIMELESS! Oh, sure, there are quite a few more wrinkles on stage, but the heart and soul of the band is still there. And the joy at playing good music live to an appreciative audience is obvious. Newest members Ryche Chlanda and Kendall Scott fit right in replacing deceased member Roye Albrighton and absent member Taff Freeman. A guaranteed fun evening!

Vanessa gave an absolutely amazing, sincere, and touching show, even with a broken foot! Her and the cellist reinvented some of her most classic songs and brought to life the songs from Love is an Art. It was easily one of the best concerts I've ever attended, and I hope to have a chance to see her live again!

This was our 4th great Chris Jacobs show!! He just keeps getting better and better and what a great venue at Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis!!! Loved hearing his stories sharing what inspired him to write the songs. Loved the song September Girls inspired by his two little girls - loved it!!

OUTSTANDING!!! I LOVE THIS BROTHER IN CHRIST!!! YES. HE IS AS GREAT A MUSICIAN AS HIS FATHER IS AS GREAT A WELDER!!! BLESSINGS!!! THE FACT THAT HE IS MARRIED TO SHARON WHITE 40+ YEARS ONLY CONFIRMS MY FAITH IN HIM & HER AS BELIEVERS!!! I WOULD SEE HIM/HER IN CONCERT AT " THE RIVER OF JORDAN " IF THAT WAS/IS AN OPTION!!!

Wow! What a great place to see this dynamic band jn an up close and personal way. So much energy! People dancing in the aisles. Plenty od interaction with the audience. The type of band you want to see over and over again. Everyone needs to see the Squirrel Nut Zippers at least once in their life. Don't miss out!

The Annapolis venue was intimate. The 80's music selection before the show was perfect. Tiffany is a real person. So down to earth. She held a Q&A session in the beginning. It was refreshing to her lovely vocals and see someone who truly enjoys their craft. She has a great sense of humor and shared her life with us. She engaged the audience the entire time. She shared her loves and her passions and projects with us. I was in heaven when she covered a song by "The Cure". What a coincidence. I had their t-shirt on! I am so honored to have attended this event. She is such a positive vibe! Wishing much continued success and love.

Mishka is AWESOME! His performance was GREAT! The new album " THIS LOVE " is now my Favorite! I saw Mishka in New York City on Saturday and I was able to get his new CD plus I was also able to buy the new album on Vinyl which is my favorite way to listen to music. If you get the chance to see Mishka Live Please do so you will not regret it. Also Of Good Nature Rocked :) I did not even know who they were but i'll tell you this I will never miss there show either. Great Shows by totally awesome artiest I will never forget. I want to go to another show, I would have to drive 8 hours one way. It would be so worth it!

These guys are three of the most incredibly talented musicians you’ll ever find…and together on the stage is nothing short of perfection! Such an enjoyable show to watch, full of amazing musicianship, along with the love and laughter amongst the guys! Get to a show when you can…you won’t regret it!

An outstanding show, Robbie was in fine form and got a standing ovation at the end of his set, which closed with The Buck Starts Here from his first album. Robbie and Darryl Scott did a few songs together and it would have been nice to see them spend a bit more time on stage together. Highly recommended!

This was my fourth time seeing Zoso, and they are as amazing as ever! Jimmy, their new lead guitarist, is at least as good as (perhaps better than) the last one and blew us all away. The set lasted two hours, but it felt like only 40 minutes. I could have listened and rocked out to them for hours. GO SEE ZOSO. THEY ARE FANTASTIC.

The Burning Witches are the real heavy metal deal! They were great last night. Wish their set had been longer, and the stage bigger, but not much they can do about that. B-W were the better band in every way. Energy was high while they played. Rams Head On Stage is a poor venue for a show like this. Tables and chairs. C'mon. That's ok for mellow acts, but not Burning Witches.

Willie and his crew were fantastic. He is a stellar musician and the new trio backing him have awesome support. They all looked a little tight and nervous at first, but their skill-level and expertise won the day. Got to the point late in the show when they started playing Midnight Special a few steps too high and Willie started singing, he abruptly stopped and exclaimed “We’re in the wrong key!” And the four of them laughed a good belly laugh while he switched up harmonicas and took the capo off the banjo and they picked up where they left off. One of the best parts of the show was when Willie dealt expertly with a front-row heckler with a brief set of comments directly at the guy while making eye-contact. The guy never spoke too loud after that. Willie is going to be an American treasure one day.
