Although Bandsintown had the wrong location for the show, the show was great. both Trey and Rob were making it look easy while sailing through soaring melodic riffs that were perfectly executed and flawlessly musical. I met the guys in Nashville last summer and had a chance to do a tune with Trey and Tommy Emmanuel. The weather, for this outdoors show was not quite what we in Tucson would have wanted but was not unexpected. When the sun goes down in the Desert, the temperature drops like a lead balloon and many people in the audience were not dressed for the change. I took no pictures but I probably should have. I got a chance to chat with Trey after the show and later that night I received a very nice imessage from him. A friend, who is also the DJ for the local bluegrass radio show reminded me that we had been an opening act for Rob many years ago at a local resort. Catch these great players whenever you can.
