Roxian Theatre

Frank Turner is always fantastic. The Roxian is the worst venue I've ever been to that wasn't a sports arena. Their management took over an hour to supply the Ada accommodation they are legally required to supply to me even after they'd been told 2 weeks in advance that they needed to be prepared for it. Then they acted like they were doing me a favor by saying "don't let anyone else know, we've been denying Ada accommodations to a lot of people in this crowd." I'm sorry, that's a fucking crime, also I missed the first 2 acts while awaiting accommodations

I just started listening to Dirty Honey a few months ago. I had heard of them and heard a few songs awhile back and thought it was ok. Then a few months ago I saw they were coming to the Roxian so I revisited their music. This band is really good. I’m so glad I gave them a second chance. I love their style and sound. And I’m super glad that I bought tickets and went to this show. I can’t believe this show didn’t sell out. I’m sure the next time they come around they will bring in a bigger crowd. They definitely deserve it. Great stage presence and they sounded phenomenal. Marc’s vocals are freaking incredible and John Notto can just flat out shred. An amazing guitarist with an equally talented bassist in Justin and drummer Jaydon. These four are a great live act and their music is just as amazing. If you have the chance to see Dirty Honey don’t pass it up. You won’t regret buying the tickets.

it was an awesome show don’t get me wrong! i got into and found so many new bands!! just the crowd control was awful and i had a panic attack because general admission was so far over capacity and overbooked that i had to get out and get water or i would’ve been seriously injured. nonetheless however, i met the band prior to the show and they were some of the KINDEST people ive ever met. they the set was awesome!

Didn't even know about this as the opener for the thrice show and was very pleasantly surprised. Recognized Josh, but didn't know of this band until this show. Josh had the Phillies game up on a laptop during the show, which was pretty funny. And yes I meant Phillies game even though I know he's a Braves fan lol

Myron Elkins surprised the crowd last night at the Roxian! I’ve been a fan for a few months and came just to see his set. He is a great songwriter and performer and we met him after his show and he was very humble and extremely nice in person. This kid is going to be huge- the crowds response to him was “who the heck is this guy? We need to listen to his music after the show!” I think he gained quite a few new fans!

Fishbone was absolutely amazing bit PFUNK these days(what's left of them) is really disappointing. Barely any members there with instruments and half the band now is a George Clinton and his children trying to rap or sing and this past show not even doing songs, or jamming out. It was basically them soether hyping or trying to do bizarre psychedelic parts of songs and it sounded terrible. When I saw them in 2012 they were amazing and most members still prrsent. Loved Fishbone but that was it. Would be 1-2 stars for PFUNK.

This trio of young women seemed somewhat out of place opening for Candlebox. The genre was different. Their music was very drum and bass heavy with guitars that were barely noticeable. The lead vocals and all guitars being played by one member is a big ask. They should possibly invest in a full time guitarist and separate the vocals. Their music was heavy and some of the grooves were catchy. Potential is there. Just need to perfect their craft.

Parx was absolutely incredible! Awsten is super funny and very interactive with the crowd, which makes the show even more enjoyable. They're such a great band, and all members get their time to shine. Geoff and Otto bring equally amazing energy. I also have to compliment how awesome this venue is. Everything started on time, everything went very smoothly, and the staff is super friendly. It's also very clean and organized inside. I noticed the staff brought the people in the pit water if they needed it, which was super great. Amazing band, amazing night, amazing venue! I hope artists will start using this venue more frequently!

I've never been to a concert at the Roxian before. The venue is pretty nice and I loved the atmosphere. One thing that I thought was disappointing was the opening bands were relegated to merch tables in the basement by the bathroom. I feel like they should have also had space in the upstairs for their merch. Sepultura, as always, was amazing and put on a fantastic and energetic show.

I went to this show primarily to see Death Angel and purchased a meet and greet package to see them personally. Every single band member (Rob, Mark, Ted, Damion, and Will) was all present and very receptive and cordial. The guys were very down to earth and talkative. The conversation was very casual, almost as if we had known each other for some time. I believe that it is due to the fact that they love to play heavy metal thrash music, and I love to listen to it. Sometimes, I think it is difficult to explain to the average person who is not familiar with particular music genres, but heavy metal fans and musicians have an admiration of each other due mainly to the fact that the genre has been vilified since its inception as being rude or violent and I believe that it is due to the fact that people do not understand the complexities that we have endured over the latter part of 80s, the 90s, and early 2000s as being of lesser intelligence and the lack of manners, but nothing could be further than the truth. The musicians are very talented and capable of playing fast, technically advanced music, that very few genres (if any) are capable of duplicating. They also have no problem writing lyrical content that may be controversial or rarely discussed, but at the same time are very surreal, real life instances for most and/or have the imaginative/fantasy aspect of song writing that some song writers like to do. The fan base is made up of various types of people from many walks of life and professions. I myself am a retired city police officer who attained a graduate degree in criminal justice administration and have been an associate professor for the past 15 years at a local college. Those of us who who have embraced the genre either realize this or it does not matter, because regardless, we are one in the same... people who have a passion for heavy metal music. I have been to literally around 100 shows or so and can count on one hand how many times that I witnessed violent behavior. Sure, we like to mosh, but to us it is just a sort of release that we all experience, but I can assure you that when one person goes down in the (mosh) pit, there are three to four hands reaching to pick that person up back to their feet. It is a camaraderie that no other genre (at least I believe) can lay claim to or even recognize. I realize that I was a bit long-winded for such a simple question, but it is not often addressed, and our bond comes from being stereotyped and being labeled as miscreatants at times, but that is not the case, but I felt the need to remind people outside the genre that we are fathers, mothers, daughters and sons who happen to be more normal than our true critiques make us out to be in an abnormal world/society. Death Angel and the other bands were excellent, and a good time was had by all. Especially for me meeting the men and women who create the music that I cherish so. Death Angel will be back in Pittsburgh on June 11th, and my tickets were purchased the minute they went on sale. I would like to thank the members of Death Angel for being such very kind hosts, so we could be simply ourselves who enjoyed each others company. Thank you for asking me. Shaun

Wage War rocked socks!! & It was super badass seeing Spite and getting a picture/signature from the lead singer!🎫🖤🤙 On the other hand, I was really disappointed in the venue at Roxanne Theatre as such a small venu staff didn't gate off/limit the amount of people in the lower level/pit. I have been there for multiple shows & have never had it that bad! People were getting hurt & pulled out. I had to move up the higher level just for safety & normally I would be in the pit if there was one!! Please don't let this happen again! Give these guys a bigger venue next time so the people have room to move around & have a good time w/o worrying about safety

I really enjoyed the time spent at your show because of you guys, I have been looking forward to it, you guys couldn't come any sooner, thank you so much, I f***ing love you! YOU GUYS ROCK! I hope I see you guys again, I definitely hope to go up front closer next time through a VIP or something if you come around to a place I can go to again! This guy's head was in front of me on my phone's video taping your show for my fond memory of the evening of seeing you guys, that's one thing I feel sad about because another fan's head kind of covered the view of Tim Henson off and on, but I managed to stretch my arm to catch the whole stage, I've never been to Roxian Theatre before so I wasn't familiar with how it worked there either! You guys delivered an absolutely wonderful show!!! It was my first show with you guys, and hopefully to many more in the future!!! I loved when Scottie said "me too" and when he toasted his drink to us, I thought oh man I wish I had a drink to toast it right back, I was looking around like I wish I got one, same here!!! Thank you guys for creating a lot of beautiful moments, I'll never forget it! You made my year and my birthday month of April too! Thank you for putting a smile on my face! You guys are awesome! I gave 5 stars because there wasn’t more. He is amazing and his backing band were awesome too. He played every style of rock in 4 songs that lasted about an hour crunch, clean, blues, pop, and more. Everything was flawless. The personalities of his band made the experience even better. The drummer was a madman! Ultra talented, playful and fun. I hope he doesn’t wait 6 years before touring America again.

Great show! First time at this Small venue that had a great party atmosphere. Didn’t realize there were 5 bands until day of - excited we were able to see all of them. Sound was great- bands looked great- cocktails were great. Metalheads will always be the friendliest concert goes! Felt very safe both inside and outside of venue

The show was great the venue messed up the vip experience yes I met them yes i got an autograph that I wasn't expecting but I paid for a vip and I was told to be there at 3 we didn't get in until after 4 and the meet lasted 45 seconds twiztid apologized it was the Venues vault

As always, Neko and her band were amazing in Pittsburgh! Great song selection, great musicianship and harmonizing, and fun stage banter (which could have been better only with addition of Kelly Hogan, who was missed). "Pittsburgh Toilet" is generally known as "Pittsburgh Potty," for future reference, but the effort to be one of us was appreciated! 😂 Kind of bummed no New Pornographers songs with A.Carl, & no Kelly at all, but Nora & rest of band were awesome. Neko is one of the most consistently impressive and engaging performers I've ever seen, & I'll keep going to see her whenever I can!

Everything was awesome! The Roxian is such a great venue. You are so close to the stage in every seat/section. And it’s very clean and the staff are very friendly! And Dylan Scott was incredible! I love his music and he is a fantastic performer. He and his band are so entertaining! I would love to go to another one of his concerts!

This band never disappoints. I’ve been a fan since the beginning, and they remain one of my favorites. Happy to hear tunes both old and new. And the way lead singer Shirley took the time to make sure her audience had a good time and was safe is why I love her. Can’t wait until the next show. 💜💜💜💜

I saw the online show at the empty Roxian Theatre. It was sad, but I hope to see the band live soon.
