The Salty Frog Bar

The iconic bar that has been a fixture in Imperial Beach started first under the name of Far East Rock then as The Salty Frog as a nod to the SEAL teams.

Although the bar has had many lives, this time around the Salty Frog has undergone a remodeling while still keeping some the old and loved items like the memorial to the fallen Navy SEALs, a memorial etched in a mirror of former owner Ty Woods who was killed in Benghazi, and the frogmen mural. The front bar features an old world style vibe with faux tin ceiling tiles, damask wallpaper, mirrors, dark furniture, a new bar counter and updated stage. The front room has original beams. Thanks to a leak, they discovered the redwood beams and restored them. The back room has stayed the same with black walls, pool and shuffle board tables.
