There is no doubt that after 42 years, Night Ranger still rocks in America (and anywhere else)! High energy, clearly having a great time still, they play with the crowd as well as for them. The music speaks for itself, of course, and I go see them any chance I get.
And can I say that I think they're the only band that doesn't bury the drummer at the back of the stage? I enjoy that, even though I was way over to the other side at this particular show. The bit where everyone is playing drums is also one of my favorite parts of the show too -- unique and fun. And I scored a drumstick afterwards, so that was a treat.
Even if all you've ever heard are their hits on the radio, go see them if you get a chance. You won't regret it!
Thanks to Midland Theater for bringing Voctave back to Ohio. They are simply the best a cappella vocal ensemble in the world and the show was spell binding and emotional.
I’m a life-long central Ohio resident and embarrassed to say that I’d never been in the Midland until Wednesday. The theatre is beautiful and well-maintained. Everyone I met was so nice and welcoming. Congratulations to The Midland on their upcoming 95th anniversary.
Front Row!!! Excellent show. Leo is still one of the best acoustic pickers. Great dialogue between Lyle & Leo. Funny, witty and felt down right at home.
intimate setting, enjoyed it very much. There was. LOT of conversation but overall enjoyable
Even though Sammy Kershaw couldn't make it because of health issues, Collin Raye and Aaron Tippin were awesome. Very high energy contributed to an amazing experience. They even sang a Sammy Kershaw song to close out their encore. It was my first time seeing them in person and they did not disappoint. I hope I can move like they do when I am their age.
They came to party! No slow ballads, not much in the way of Latin American instruments, pretty much a great rocking show. Three guitars, bass, drums and keyboard/sax,great full sound, love that kickass sax!
He still sounded great. I only wish he would have performed some more of the classics in its entirety. Worth seeing for sure. Dyson and Fishman were good to.
Clay and Ruben were fantastic as always! It was so great to see them again live in concert! It was a wonderful blast from the past! They both still sound as great as ever!
Great show! Love these guys! Beautiful theater and fantastic crowd. Just wish they allowed video recording.
The venue and its staff were perfect! Will go again.
RE: Clay and Ruben and their Band? I give them 100 stars and will quoting from the Columbus Dispatch review: "Timeless songs. Big personalities. Show-stopping performances.
Those were some of the elements that made “American Idol” must-see TV in its heyday 20 years ago. You really had to be there to truly understand, but Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken’s concert Tuesday night in Newark captured some of that magic.
Season-two winner Studdard and runner-up Aiken brought “Twenty: The Tour” to the Midland Theatre, where they told stories, delivered comedy bits and performed numbers that made them household names during their “Idol” era. The reception from the packed venue was warm; most of the audience appeared to be people who contributed to the pool of about 124 millionvotes cast for the men in 2003—though the family-friendly show would be appealing to anyone who appreciates powerful singers and classic R&B and pop."............
"Though a part of me secretly hoped to hear a bit of Studdard’s “Sorry 2004”—simply for the sake of nostalgia—the two performers put on a flawless show, which could work extremely well as a Vegas residency in the future. Aiken admitted that the opportunity to perform again with Studdard—the two did a Broadway show in 2018—brought him out of a break from performing. Aiken not sharing his gift is criminal, so I’m imploring the powers that be to keep creating opportunities for the duo to perform."

I adore these two from back when I watched them on 'American Idol' ! To see them live on stage was amazing and I even got Ruben Studdard's autograph! Clay and Ruben were witty and snarky in between belting out their tunes and Clay sang 'Mandy', which won my heart! The theatre staff was great, too! I just really enjoyed all of it!
The show was a display of musical excellence. You can never go wrong playing the music of Duke Ellington. I have not seen Mr. Marsalis in 20 years and yes he keep getting better. Congratulations for maintaining the standard of excellence.
He has been on my bucket list for year’s! I have followed him for decade’s. I had his poster’s on my walls when I was a teen. He blew me away at his concert and my 27 year old son went with me. He was shocked at how Rick jammed out for 1 1/2 hour’s. My son said he hopes he can rock out like that when he’s Rick’s age! Love love loved it! Best concert I’ve been to in year’s.
It was a great concert and we are very thankful that Rick could come to the Midland.
Great venue. Did near hour and a half on his own. Amazing. Great sound, graphics, music, and presence. The Midland is a great venue!
I've been following Rick since his first single, "Speak to the Sky" back in '72 or '73. And seeing him live since I think '82, the first time he came close enough. Since then, if he's within 2 hours of me, I'm usually there. He puts on a great, high-energy show, with humor mixed in, and it's always a blast.
Since it was the 40th anniversary of the WORKING CLASS DOG album, he did quite a bit of older music, but still did "Voodoo House", which is one of my favorites of the newer songs, so that was cool. He has so much music, it's hard to hear a good chunk of it.
I like the smaller venues like this theater cos he's able to better interact with the audience. And when he sits at the edge of the stage for "My Father's Chair", the emotion in his voice leads to complete silence from the entire venue. He's backed by a great band, who have been with him for quite a while. I would like to have seen more lighting on the band, but they sounded amazing.
And we got the news there was new music coming soon. Can't wait!
The concert was awesome! Rick always is a showman and rocked last night.
Phil Vassar and his band never disappoint. The show was full of energy. And at points raw emotions during the ballads. The mix of up beat songs with Phil Vassar’s true talent on the piano made for a wonderful evening. His band is a wonder group of very talented musicians that act great accompaniment to Phil’s artistry.
Brian was in great form as usual. The crowd was decidedly older than at other venues where I’ve seen him play. They seemed to enjoy Brian’s music too.
Concert was amazing as always, but didn't like that staff at the midland theater stopped her long time fans from taking photos or video
