One of the finest performances I’ve ever seen by any musician and singer! So many hidden talents. What an amazing voice and wonderful performer!
Our first time at the Dizzy’s Club. Fantastic seating, great Central Park view, pleasant staff. Acoustics was good, the trio played very professionally, and Stella K Cole has that old world charm, captivating voice, and subtle strength that is powerful. Her classic collection engages the audience and can relate to both the young and old.
Stella is a class act.
We will be back for more
Dizzy's is a beautiful club overlooking Columbus Circle. The menu is limited , but has some interesting choices.
Christian Sands was wonderful. His playing is elegant, jazzy, soulful,peaceful....just a cornucopia of wonderful sounds. His band was excellent.
Christian also told some great stories and was thoroughly engaging.
One last thing...he dresses impeccably. It's nice to see musicians attired appropriately; no jeans or t shirts.
It is always very special to her Emmet Cohen and Mary Stallings perform together. Each one is an exceptional artist but the connection they have together is extraordinary. The instrumentalists also were wonderful and Dizzy’s is probably my favorite jazz room in the City. Not too big but spacious. Tables have space between them. The view of the park is beautiful and the acoustics are great. What more could one want?
The evening was great. Emmet and Mary are musical treasures.
Well, great musicians and singer, great music. Only, rather short concert, within that quite a big part of just talking. One would expect more music for the price of the tickets and the compulsory consumation at Dizzy‘s Club. And then, after the show, we had to quickly pay, take the last sip and make way for the clients of the second set. So, a forced, quick, abrupt change of scenery, that I didn‘t really like. As an european, I‘m not used to this kind of jazz-club-organisation.
I'm a regular listener in the NYC jazz scene, but I've never seen a show that rose to this level. They were so tight, so tasteful, so loving and respectful of each other. It was one voice.
