This made my year. I have been looking forward to this for AGES and when it arrived I literally was shaking ALL OVER with excitement. The venue was amazing, River and Rail was amazing, AND OH MY GOSH THE ARCADIAN WILD WAS INCREDIBLE! NOTHING SHORT OF IT!!!!
My husband and I had an amazing time meeting and seeing Rome and Duddy! We are big fans and love their music! The show was amazing 👏 We loved how small and intimate it was! We hope to see them again in the future. They are amazing together, what a collaboration!! ✌️ ❤️
Had a wonderful time @ City Winery Philadelphia with Ju-Taun! Worked with these talented brothers many years ago, and they still sound fantastic! They are like a fine wine.. they get excellent with time. :)
They all are so engaged with their audience! The passion for the music are expressed thorough their soothing lyrics.
If you have not seen Ju-Taun perform, I highly recommend you do so! You will not be disappointed!
Sold out so I went there smoked and drank my coffee while playing Tigers Jaws music in hope that someone had a Lame ' friend ' whom didn't show so I could attend.didnr happen met a cool gal Phoebe who she thought she looked like Carmen San Diego, I rebutted Florence Welch
Damn Tall Buildings are super talented and put on a high energy show. I first saw them at Sisters Folk Festival a few months ago and loved them, so I had to see them when they came to Philly. It was worth the two hour drive into the teeth of Philly rush hour. My wife is not a big fan of bluegrass, but she loved DTB's performance.
I recently had the chance to see Naturally 7 live at City Winery, and it was an unforgettable experience. I've always been a fan, but seeing them in person for the first time was something else. Their skill in using their voices as instruments is just mind-blowing. The entire show was not just about the music; they involved the audience in such a fun way that it felt like we were part of the performance.
I'm definitely looking forward to their next show in town. Their unique approach to music and the way they connect with the audience make their concerts a must-see. If you get the chance, I highly recommend checking them out.🎤🎶
Show was fantastic very intimate venue, sound was good. Marc did NOT disappoint, he played 1.5 2 hours.
I would recommend eating in the main dining room before the show and then go down to show. It's the same menu and prices for the food in both rooms but in the main dining room you have more space and more comfortable seating. The seating in the show room is more like sharing a table and is fine for the show but if it's just 2 of you the dinning room is a better choice.
My wife and I saw Toby for probably the twentieth time, yet the first time with a band. She and her friends were absolutely fantastic. We had an awesome time at an awesome show! There were a few in the crowd that were new to her music and they were blown away. Reminds me of the first time we saw her back somewhere around 2007 or so. She knew us on sight at the meet and greet and we both got hugs! We all also found out she is nominated for a Grammy, but in one of the more obscure categories. Hey, a Grammy is a Grammy! She also has a new song coming out I think early November. So, on we continue with our simple formula: Toby plays = we show up.
Tristan MacIntosh, who finished 6th on the 2016 American Idol contest as a 15 year old, has matured into a vocalist of surprising power and depth. She is surrounded by musicians with great skills and talent.
We drove 120 miles to the City Winery in Philadelphia from Washington. It was worth the trip! For 90 minutes, we were transported to the 1970s and ‘80s.
My wife described Tristan’s covers of the greatest cover artist in pop music history as nothing less than phenomenal. If you get the chance to see “The Linda Ronstadt Experience”…GO!!!!!! If your children or grandchildren do not even know who Linda Ronstadt is( like ours!), take them to The Linda Ronstadt Experience and introduce them to TWO of the greatest pop singers they’ll ever hear…Tristan MacIntosh channeling Linda Ronstadt! Five stars!
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being outstanding I’d rate this show an 11. Tristan was just phenomenal. She has obviously studied Linda’s singing thoroughly and has the talent to pull off Linda to a T. It was obviously that she and her band have dug up some live performances by Linda and used some of what they learned in their own live show. This was obvious in their renditions of “You’re No Good” and “Willi’”

Bettye Lovette really showed off for the audience. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. She sounds even better in person than on her albums. I’m sooo happy that she came to Philly and hope that she returns soon. She is a special lady that has a great, sultry soulful voice that cannot be imitated.
Firstly, Toby hits it out of the park with every song. Also, she plays at really nice venues with quality people in attendance. Wife and I have been going to anywhere she's played, that was reasonable to get to, (and actually a couple somewhat farther away), for going on fifteen years. Time very well spent. Always worth the effort. We've actually devised a fairly simple formula: Toby plays - we show up.
Super engaging and funny! Wasn’t expecting it to be a legit show/performance where he talks with the crowd and has mini skit type performances. Because it was karaoke, he didn’t sing as many of his own songs which made me a little sad, but it was nice to hear him sing so many other songs with people. Def. a great night out!
This type of amazing, energy-driven world music is essential for Philadelphia! I saw Bombino at the World Café Live a couple of years ago and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. That was on the dance floor. This was in front of people dining, but some people did get up and dance and there was a standing ovation at the end of the show. Great acoustics at the City Winery for this. The city should have a full week of this type of world music at different venues - with both free and paid shows - like Montreal does with their Nights of Africa festival.
Five stars aren't nearly enough for Toby. My wife and I have been fans of hers going on 14 years. Remember when we "discovered" her as an opener for Jewel. I've long lost count of the number of times we've seen her and she never disappoints and never likely will. Toby deserves to be a much bigger "star" than she is but rather than live disappointment, I believe she's more than content with how things are. That's Toby, to know her is to love her and I don't say this lightly. I think many of the crowd around us, of course we were front and center, were mostly first timers but judging from their highly enthusiastic reactions they were extremely pleased. As for Tracy and I, we've travelled far and wide for our favourite singer/songwriter and won't be stopping any time soon. Give her a listen, come to a show. See and feel how great a true musician can be. I'm confident you'll be glad you did.

Howard Hewett always a gifted talent. The setting was grown folk and intimate at the City winery Philadelphia. Howard tells a story and ministers at the same time . His falsetto voice is timeless , and he gives testimony and hope to all through his life & lyrics. He gets better with time . If you’ve never seen Shalamar or Howard Live , now is the time!
It was pure love and soul! This beautiful couple represents Philly , and all of the great talent born in the vibrant city . I enjoyed the show . City Winery is a great spot for delicious food and classy entertainment. I’ll be back !!
Red Wanting Blue puts on a fantastic show every single time. I don't go to a concert on a school night for just any band, but for these guys I will deal with being sleep deprived on Monday so I can be front row for their concert on a Sunday night.
Solo show was amazing! The venue needs a lot of work though. Servers were awful!!! It’s new so I think they’ll get better. They kept trying to take out food and drinks before we were done (happened four times- that’s a lot in my world...) and didn’t know what anything was- I asked if they had a full bar and she said no, then noticed other people had cocktails. Ordered a beer and they brought the wrong one because they didn’t know what they had, they kept asking us to repeat ourselves when we were just trying to watch the show. All this should get better but I’m gonna wait a few months before trying City Winery again.
Her band was very talented. They played a lot of old favorites and she can still harmonize beautifully. It was also a benefit for Bonaparte's Retreat Dog Rescue. I didn't realize it was the first concert at this Venue, food was decent. Sitting a little tight. Played for 1-1/2 hours complete with encore. Very enjoyable.
