Stephen was amazing! I've read his book and have a signed copy. I first saw him perform in Indiana. I moved to Oregon recently and was so excited to see that he was here. He truly has a gift to speak to the heart. His songs are genuine and meaningful. I came away filled up with gratitude. I hope he comes back soon! Also, this was my first visit to Polaris Hall. What a great, intimate venue. I will be back!
The show was INCREDIBLE!! So fun, so groovy, it was absolutely PERFECT! The boys are so talented and so silly. The crowd and venue were awesome as well. I feel very lucky to have been to their first show in Portland Oregon. This band is amazing!!! Can’t wait to see them again. I’ve been streaming them on Spotify nonstop since the show ended, I’m in love!!
Was great and didn’t realize how funny John Craigie was. Loved the opening performers and enjoyed all the songs John played. Bonus was John’s stories in between each song. I was entertained the entire time!
They were just so good! This was the first time I’d seen them and had such a good time!!! The lead singer really showed so much appreciation and gratitude for how amazing the moments that night were (different walks of life all choosing to come together to JAM) and played so so so well! I can’t wait for them to headline again 🎤❤️🍑 ty 😁
The venue was small but fantastic. A snow storm made the show incredibly intimate though it was sold out. Freaking incredible performances by Dessa, Aviva, and Joshua. Especially the random dance performance with surprise Aviva on keys.
Ariel was amazing. His guitar playing is incredible, and his songwriting and singing are top notch. It truly was a treat to see him live.
My only complaint was the sound quality of the guitar, it was very muddy and I couldn't make out the individual notes most of the time. I was sitting over to the side of the room on the opposite side from Ariel, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.
TCCB sounded good but still a college band. The new album is great and I have no doubt the next will be even better but stop playing the old college stuff and play more of Maryland House. Wish more fans showed up.
Incredibly fun! The Dirty Nil is so fun to scream along to and Luke the vocalist was very kind when selling merch. Got a picture with him! Adorable and small venue as well with personal bathrooms and a bar. Staff did not check bags though, quite sketchy to not do in Portland lol.
This was my first time seeing Annie, and I had an absolutely wonder time! That opener, Hannah Cole, was amazing and so was Annie! Everyone on stage had such great energy and I hope I get the chance to see them again in the future.
Incredible. I really enjoyed the opener Chris Margolin, but then Robbie came on and “oh yeah that’s why he’s the headliner “. I’d only heard him solo but it was great that he had the band . In the front row the sound was great. I actually ran a very minimal sound board for Pirate Jenny doing a fundraiser in that space, but I was too nervous to comment on the sound.
Every time I see AA, the band levels up and consistently blows my mind. BJ is a class act and works harder for his fans than anyone else in the biz. I’m proud to be a fan and for as long as they keep playing, I’ll keep showing up to support them.
The venue was so beautiful and small, very intimate space. It was such a welcoming community, I adored meeting new people there. The singer was super sweet with the fans, I thought it was so cool that they were comfortable enough to hold hands, grab phones, and really physically connect with the audience. The bassist was so incredibly beautiful and talented. Such a memorable time, I would definitely go again.
always a pleasure seein the homies crush the y’allternative scene. trace mountains and anika pyle were incredible as well. massive props to all of them for making time for the fans as well—absolutely unnecessary but incredibly appreciated.
So good! July talk is one of my favorite bands and they f****** killed it! Every single musician on stage was fabulous the energy was absolutely incredible, and I absolutely loved it! I was so glad that they came back to Portland I saw them a few years ago at the Doug Fir Lounge and I was stoked to see they're on tour and stopping in portland! Love love them so much, absolutely incredible! Do yourself a favor and go see them if you have the chance!
Such an amazing show. The crowd was instantly endeared with Su’s awkward stage banter and comfy pajama set outfit. The moment when Su said she was from Korea and proceeded to have a quick conversation with a fan in the front was too wholesome for words. The music itself had the crowd swaying in unison, clapping, and shaking their booties. If you’re going to see Su, be prepared to make booty shaking a part of your evening. Bonus: after the show Su hung out at the merch booth to sign autographs and take selfies. I snagged a personalized USB drive with her “song babies” and thank you video, and got that signed.
I was so close to not being able to go and I am soo glad I went! Good Morning was so funny and great live, I can hear them crystal clear, so worth it to go I haven’t had such a good time at a show in a long time, definitely want to go see them again, hands down, miss them already!
Holy shit it was dope. Met Eric before the show started and he was a very chill guy and was made all his fans comfortable at the show. All the openers were fantastic but holy shit heart attack man killed it. I managed to get on stage with help from the man himself and stage dove. The mosh pits were insane and the band had such good energy. If they ever come back to oregon I’m definitely buying a ticket
Brian and Neil were so much fun! They were funny, interacted with the young crowd in a way that both adults and children enjoyed. Truly a wonderful show! Although, I was sad they didn’t perform milkshake.
Such a blast to jam out with these guys, they put on an amazing show and it was a very special experience for me <3 Polaris Hall is probably the smallest venue I’ve ever visited and it’s not a very fancy place (looks like an old church), but the acoustics were better than you’d think. Again, thank you Smallpools for visiting us in PDX!! Much love xx
The British group The Amazons rocked.
Dirty Honey was amazing, Marc was at the merch table before the show started taking selfie’s, talking with folks & have a good time.
Hope to see DH again soon in a bigger venue
GREAT SHOW
