Never been to the venue before but it had great acoustics. I wasn't a fan of the warm up artist, they were okay but they got the volume mixing wrong you couldn't hear any of the instruments the guy played. Essenger though was perfect. He played all his hits and he sounded just as good or better than he does online. He hit every note, every chord, it was a flawless show. The crowd was small but great, you knew you were among fans. Definitely see him again.
I've seen Pig 3 times and this was the best tour yet. Watts was firing on all cylinders, full of energy, Steve White did a great job on guitars and it was great to see En Esch. Packed house. Hope they come back soon!
Fantastic show! Robin was the middle act, between Tiger Bomb and headliners The Nervous Eaters. She was just as great as the last time I saw her in 1981 (43+ years ago) when she performed at MIT. It's a small, intimate venue. It's mostly standing, though they accommodated my old creaky knees with a folding chair.
I highly recommend The Middle East as a venue, and Robin Lane as a performer.
The Bird Brains continue to deliver!!! Great night at a classic venue where many bands have got their start. Although only a short set, the band mixed it up with a more classic rock set tonight, highlighting the Eagles, Steve Miller, Eric Clapton and more. Fun night for all. Great music. Great energy. Great crowd and venue. Bird Brains continue to grow and impress.
Fantastic show, 1349 are an amazing group of musicians. They are so good they transcend any genre. They played selections from just about every album including new single Ash of Ages. Unfortunately drummer Frost wasn't there due to visa issues. He is not allowed into North America due to an incident that happened in the 90's. Canadian BM band Spectral Wound was great, got their cd & they signed it. US BM band , Spirit Possession with only a guitarist & drummer was also fantastic. The crowd was great too , a perfect evening.
I wish I brought my camera with me to better remember this show. It was fantastic! Nice hidden venue, great set and loved the vibe of the show. Unfortunately I don't see a show in the same area in 2024 but I hope I can make it to one of the closer ones in NY!
Phenomenal, sensational, prodigious, thrilling, impassioned, intelligent, moving, sentimental… I can’t think of enough celebratory words to describe how much I enjoy experiencing live music, stories, and poetry by Dessa and her collaborators. Always worth 10x the price of admission.
I didn't read the fine print. I thought they were a metal band. It was very interesting. The people there seemed to enjoy themselves. Corrosion is a duo, one DJ and one dancer.
Cadaverette put on an amazing set. Their performance was clean and professional. I was a little disappointed their singer has left the band. She really was a wildcard and made the show very interesting. I am definitely watching for future performances because they are a great bunch doing what they love.
First time hearing Gozu. They were very good playing different styles. Cave In exceeded all expectation. They were heavy, tight and fun. Yob was classic Yob. Long, heavy and guttural riffs shook my organs. Don’t sleep on this tour, especially if pallbearer is on the bill as well.
An incredible show that left you wanting more. August gives you her heart and soul with every performance. This time she gave the fans the shirt off her back, literally. The Middle East offers multiple venues that allow different bands a place to rock and rage.
False Gods was incredible. Mikey comes out looking like a high school driving instructor and tears it up like a Heavy Metal Viking. It's great seeing small independent bands put on epic performances. It's awesome that the Middle East has multiple venues to give different bands somewhere to play live and connect with fans.
Like his music? You'll love his performance. All energy and he puts it all out there. I got to talk with him after the show a bit, a real professional and a true gentlemen.
Everything was great, my plus one even had a good time! The band members were amazing and so sweet after the show, I love how they connect with their fans. It was a night to remember, I’ll definitely go see them again if they ever come back!
I love this band. Their sound makes me feel warm and nostalgic. I would %100 see them again. And the club was adorable. Frail Body is a loud band, maybe bring ear plugs. 🙏🏽
Overall, I have to say it was an unforgettable night. Mostly because I was able to chat with Thomas and Jacob of Beacon both before and after the show. They were super nice, and even posed for a selfie with me, and signed copy of their vinyl album for me. Beacon is one of my all-time favorite artists; this is the third time I've seen them live since I first heard them in May 2017 when they opened for Tycho.
The show was very intimate, and deeply personal to me. When you're one of an artists's biggest fans, it's almost impossible to hear every single song you'd love to hear, but I was really hoping they would have done at least one of my favorites of theirs ("Mile A Minute," "Split In Two", "No Body", "Studio Audience", "Pause", "Go Back Now", "See", "Backbone", "Minor Structures", "Better Love", or "Still"), but that doesn't mean they didn't put on a great show. Standouts from their performance were the opener ("Show Me How"), "Can't Turn Back", "I'm The Answer", "Harm", and "Marion". The version of "Feeling's Gone" they did literally brought me to tears.
Their selection of merchandise was limited (4 CDs, 3 shirts, and a copy of the new album on vinyl). For one of the shirt designs, they had only one available, and it just happened to be my size (Large), so I bought it. The price ($20) was very reasonable, but I would have gladly given them more of my money if they had a bigger selection of merchandise.
Again, overall I'd say this was an unforgettable night that I will be bragging about for a while. I hope Beacon comes back to Boston again soon!
If you get the chance to see them TAKE IT. It was an awesome show, and they sounded great live. Also, got to meet and talk to the band after the show, super chill guys 10/10 recommend. Will be back next time they are around Boston
If you aren’t listening to Weathers, you are missing out on some of the finest, most refreshing, and original songwriting today. If you are not seeing them live, with their unparalleled energy, enthusiasm, craftsmanship, fan interaction and appreciation, and just joy in what they do, and how well they do it, then your life needs a Weathers Upgrade. They are THE BEST band out there, bar none. Find them, see them, sing along with them. PS, Boyer, Bates, and Olsen, next show I need a t-shirt that says “Certified 1983 Vibe.”
Great sound, frontman has tons of energy and really tried to perk up a diffident crowd. Good show, and they took the time to meet and take pics with their fans afterwards.
Why does so much good music come out of Ohio? Fun band, very much worth a look.
I already loved her beautiful voice, ripping guitar prowess and amazing stage presence from videos. But this was the first time I saw her and she is now my favorite rocker. Can't wait to see her again.
