Creative Alliance
With one of the best sounding rooms in the region, the theater at Creative Alliance has gained a reputation for shows that are equally energetic and intimate. Our stage is a lynchpin of Baltimore’s cultural scene, and our performances are known for their quality and eclecticism. We take risks and always strive for a richer, deeper experience. Our programming celebrates a sense of place, be it Baltimore’s own artistic accents or performers celebrating sounds and styles from afar.
Our versatile space is a great place for a dance party or a seated show. A growing force on the national touring circuit, Creative Alliance embraces programming that runs from global music spanning traditional roots and innovative new artists, the diverse spectrum of Black American music, indie rock, dance, theater, burlesque, and comedy, as well as a rapidly expanding digital program. BOTH sets were transcendent. Malibu established a tone for the evening with pieces built on layers of tone and voice. The accompanying visual stirred things deep within as pulsating light consistently stabbed at the darkness.
Julianna Barwick's performance reached across multiple stops within her catalog. With a lean collection of devices, a Nord, and her voice, Barwick erected windows to reveal different worlds. It was both easy and alluring to climb through and lose one's self as sound washed over the theater.
The theater space was wonderful, with a great staff ready to serve & communicate.
