Underoath was fantastic. My experience at the Marquee was not. There was no available parking, so I ended up being late, even though I was early. It took me 45 minutes to find a parking spot. For some reason they barracaded the area I have always parked... and the parking garage was full. They oversold this show and it should have been in a bigger venue. I've been to sold out shows here and parking was never a problem besides getting stuck in the garage when everyone is trying to exit. I'm going to avoid shows here at all cost. I still have tickets to upcoming shows. I will plan on arriving in Tempe early and walking/Ubering to the venue. I've been going to shows here for 25 years. Handle your business or let someone else host the show. Underoath, please come back, and play a bigger venue with adequate parking. I would like to see the whole set sometime, since the Marquee theatre robbed me of that. Thank you, Underoath. What I did catch was amazing.
Amazing Show by Letdown!
I recently had the pleasure of seeing Letdown live at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ with my wife, and let me tell you—it was an unforgettable experience! I was easily the oldest guy in the house, but that didn’t matter one bit because the energy in the room was electric! Letdown absolutely jammed and blew the crowd away with his raw talent and infectious beats.
From the moment he stepped on stage, it was clear this guy was going to tear the house down. The music hit hard, and the vibe was incredible—whether you’re a longtime fan or new to his sound, it was impossible not to get caught up in the moment. Every track was a banger, and seeing him live just added another level of intensity that recordings don’t fully capture.
Honestly, one of the best live performances I’ve seen in a long time. If you get the chance to catch Letdown in concert, do yourself a favor and go. Trust me, even if you’re the “Legalize Cocaine” guy in the crowd like me, you’ll be having the time of your life!
Signed,
The “Legalize Cocaine” Guy aka “DC”
It was an absolutely perfect night for me and the kid. A very nice clean and inviting venue. The marquee theatre was a fantastic experience. The crowd was filled with plenty of excitement and yet friendly energy. The performance, the Struts brought from across the pond was Something you sure won't want to miss the next time they pass through town. Small venues are the way to go, and phoenix has plenty of them, but none shine like the marquee theatre.
Barns Courtney was the performer I came to see, I’ve been listening to him for nearly 10 years. He was absolutely hammered on stage,. This is a talented artist I expected to be amazing to hear live. He wasn’t there to sing, but to do a Motley Crue impersonation, freaking out the security team by choosing to crowd surf. The Struts were so much more professional and connected to the audience. Feels like Barns Courtney would be a headliner not an opening act if he got it together
I’ve never left a review for a band before. That said, I absolutely need to in this case. Like many, I found nicotine dolls in my feed on social media, and loved their sound. I followed them, downloaded a few songs on Spotify, and suddenly found they were going to be in Tempe. I couldn’t resist and bought tickets. you must see them live! Their studio recordings are great, don’t get me wrong, but live this band is amazing! My husband and I travel the world for music, and I can’t remember the last time I felt so elated by band’s enthusiasm to play for us. They were fun, engaging, and clearly having such a great time on the stage. They sounded fantastic, but that seems secondary to how they interact with the audience. If they aren’t already on your list, make them a priority. It’s only a matter of time before they’re playing much. Bigger venues and tickets are harder to get. I’m checking the tour dates now for another show.
It was a sold out show at the Marquee. Parking was packed and my spot was about a 5 minute walk from the theater. The line went across the bridge, but there was good traffic control, and security moved everyone through pretty quickly. The bathroom lines moved quickly, and the line at the drink lines moved quickly too. Definitely HOT inside even with the huge fans, but enough room to dance in my one foot imaginary box. Not sure if there was a pit because I was too short to see. Most people were nice enough to not stand in front of short people like me (or moved enough so we could all see). One gal suddenly appeared behind me and was pushing up against me, so I danced with her (dont think she wanted to dance because she moved). I See Stars and ERRA were great. Volume was perfect. It was looking like it was going to be an amazing concert... until the lights flashed off then back on and the band came out and Noah announced he had been continuoisly coughing, and wasn't going to be able to perform. I felt bad for the gal who came from the canceled Portland concert, and another gal who came from Washington. Some of us shouted out for Noah to lip sync... you know, Milli Vanilli style... It was pretty easy getting out of the venue. Disappointed definitely, but I See Stars and ERRA were great and the venue was good, so I'm giving the concert three stars.
I know Noah is sick and had to cancel, but with previously cancelled shows I wish he would have cancelled sooner. I drove over 300 miles to see bad omens, not a huge fan of erra or I see stars, while they still did a good show, I was there for bad omens. I think Noah should just cancel the remaining tour to heal himself, that way people don’t keep getting disappointed. Get better Noah!
Kid Kapichi was absolutely amazing and I am so excited that I got to see them on their first US tour and their last night of their tour! Such a energetic and fabulous stage presence and they have such great energy with each other!
I wish they had gotten a longer set time, but who doesn't want an encore of great music?!
While everyone was there for the headliner,
Kid Kapichi was my headliner and next time they are back in the US, definitely will be seeing them again!!
The show was amazing. We had purchased balcony seats and the girl at the front didn’t let us know that we needed to have a wristband for that so we had to go back outside and you’re not allowed to take your drinks so it would’ve been nice if she would have told us that before we went in. The security upstairs at the balcony was so kind and there were not three seats together, but they went and gathered some so that we could sit down.
If you close your eyes it is extremely hard to tell the difference between DM & Strange Love
They are always a pleasure to visit with after the show they stay till the very last man has asked their last question they never rush you or Usher you out they truly love their fans their fans mean everything, if they're within even a state driving distance for you make the trip you'll never regret it I give them 10 Stars if I could
The show was awesome, so sad it's over. "Front of the line" passes were a huge scam (and assumed so). The venue was a lot bigger than the previous one I was able to see them at, so sound wasn't the greatest. I'm happy to see such a huge turnout, but that also includes not such die-hard fans in attendance. Great time and great people. Stoked my daughter got to enjoy with me as well finally, especially after growing up listening to this all of her life ❤️
It has been a long time since they last played here. 2019?
As always, both bands put on a lively, fun, and personalized show.
Unlike lots of guitar-based bands, you can actually distinguish their songs from one another because all instruments and voices can be heard. Their songs are upbeat, laden with chantable choruses, that causes the audience to punch the air and hoot in unison. And, man, can their shared lead vocalist sing!
I didn't understand why a lot of the audience left after Gloryhammer. To me, they are like twins.
Ok, so I knew it would be great. First time seeing Alter Bridge live. It feels like this crazy powerful band with off the charts vocals of Myles kennedy is commanding more and more fans and energy as they continue to rock through the years. Myles maintains a humble rock God status and just brings it... as if it were easy. The crowd was syked beyond most I've seen at the Marquee which by the way continues to be one of the best venues in town. I will see Alter Bridge again at every opportunity.
Great show! Felt nothing but good vibes from the band from beginning to end. Venue was clean, easily accessible, and safe. This show was the first time I’d experienced security involvement in regards to a patrons disappointment with the crowd pushing her from her place (security removed gentlemen who were causing concerns). I’ve been to many shows where the end result was just dealing with being pushed around, but this was surprising and a change of pace for sure. It’d be interesting to see if they had the same protocol with other genres of music performing.
I had not heard Andrew Freeman yet. It's too bad he had to go back to his Dio tribute band. His vocals were spot on, and his energy was welcome. I'm sure Brett will carry on the tradition!
At my tender age, my pal Doug and I decided it was best to try the upstairs at The Marquee, Tempe AZ on 7/7/2022. It's a relatively small balcony, with just one row of stools. It was a pretty light crowd and we found stools near the center, with a bar and bathroom both within 10 feet of the stools.
I was not expecting a lot, I think Terry Ilous has talent, but he was never right for GW. When I heard Mitch Malloy sing online, I was sold. That's when I heard Andrew take on the role. After a recent, disappointing, set from Jack's GW I was ready again.
Freeman and the band ripped it up for two hours. They did all the GW classics and Andrew nailed the vocals on each song. Mark, Michael, Audie, and Scott all sounded great. Don't miss out on another GW show. They are back and fierce as ever. Rock Me bros!!
First things first - the parking lot situation has not improved, but inside security not as big pricks as usual. Show was excellent- got inside early to visit pre-show, good crowd. Saw the Beast, started thinking 80’s show. Jeff comes out and takes stage right - so early 80’s? First show of tour, was hopeful - DSO delivered strong! 5-12-80 Boston - fun choice, love those early Brent shows. Looking forward to Skull&Roses in April!!
After waiting more than a year to see the band and due to the pandemic it finally came to fruition Friday night. The venue is standing room only and crowded but once AFI hits the stage, I am in my own world singing to my heart's content. They only played for an hour and that's ok, cuz I got to hear songs from the past that makes them so unique...it was well with the trip from North Phoenix to Tempe.
Was really excited for this one. Was part of the VIP group. We were seated on the far left balcony. Have never been to the Marquee before but it's just an awesome venue. Intimate but holds plenty of people. Love the layout. My girlfriend was in a wheelchair and the staff was crazy accommodating. OHMO led things off and were just stunning. Have never heard of them prior to that evening but I'm now very much a fan. Goosebump makers are they. FKJ was everything we hoped for and more. He started with a track that was unique to his stop in Phoenix which wasn't just exciting. The track itself was amazingly good and I can only hope that it shows up on spotify somewhere, somehow. Along with all the other tracks he's apparently mixing on the fly for each of his stops. Very well rounded song selection. Both bands had great sound
Complaints are few and far between. I wish OHMO was printed on the ticket, I couldn't find out until well after the show who they were through some google searches. Glad I was able to figure that out. $13 for a 24oz can of Modelo. I'll just let that one speak for itself. It would be cool if VIP could get a discounted rate on beer. Checking in as a VIP is a bit confusing. You go to the front of the VIP line to check in, then go to the back of the line to wait to get in. Obviously the concert has to stop at some point but it would have been cool to hear a couple more of his newer songs. I was hoping for 'Us'. Got a blast from the past song though, so that about evened things out. Gotta please the crowd, I get that. So that's not even a real complaint
An amazing experience. Just one of the best damn concerts I've been to in a long time. I can't wait for when FKJ or OHMO visits the valley again. Believe me, I could go on. Go see them! It's worth! I'll be keeping a close eye on OHMO
Excellent sold-out show!!! All four members of the band are phenomenal at their craft. The timing between them was flawless. Simply incredible with all the tempo changes and complex song structure. Their solo work and dual playing were off the charts. The multiple encores were a sweet bonus as well. For a live show to sound on par with a studio recording, is quite impressive and rare. If they tour near you, do not want to miss the opportunity to see them.
This was definitely the best night of my life. I had so much fun, jack and jack really know how to entertain their fans. Gilinsky sings so beautifully and Johnson rapping skills are on point. The theatre itself was great, with all the hot bodies and equipment they managed to keep the place cool and you could feel the air conditioning. It fit everyone and probably could've fit a hundred more people. Overall, this concert was amazing.
