Such an amazing band! They performed so amazingly well.
Love their music and live performances. This was the first time I’ve seen them perform live. Been a fan since 2006.
You can listen to a lot of their live performances on the Live Music Archive .
JD and the boys brought the heat! That’s why they had to stay so hydrated out here in Arrakis!! Kate Clover is a straight goddess channeling that Blondie through Chrissie Hynde. Thing. Mind blown band all top-notchdudes. Bonus points for the X cover at the end if you know you know..
As ALWAYS!! Aimee delivered a phenomenal show!! Her cool stage presence and personality shows through every time! Her voice and harmonies are incredibly on-point and beautiful. I love that she is so proficient on guitar, bass, and keyboard! Amazing!! Her band along with Jonathan Colton was fantastic as well. She was fantastic in Salt Lake, and seriously considered driving to Flagstaff to see her again two nights later.
Emily Wolfe started the show a little loud, but then Ben McLeod really impressed me with his guitar playing. A couple of Pink Floyd covers in the encore were nice. Kinda older crowd was nice and surprising as I'm almost 70.
A bluesy psych night was just what I needed. They are skillful professionals, making it seem so effortless. With that said, the fact that they hadn’t slept and still rocked the house, is a testament to their skill and respect for the audience. Great show boys!
Afie and his band rock. I don't think a rock concert gets better than this. The opener was great too. The bass, super well played, was mixed just a little too loud, almost to distorting on some songs. Not that band's fault. Everything else was right on though. They played so many tunes. Afie should be the one doing an Eras tour...Anyway, this is my second time seeing him, first time with the whole band. Hearing him with Felicity Williams singing backup was a real treat. Having two such excellent guitarists dueling on telecasters is a dream. Bass and drums are incredibly tight. I would go to a lot more concerts if they were all this good.
Probably one of the best concerts I’ve been too in the past year. Seriously. Their lead singer, trumpeter, guitarist, Lech, is just an impeccable stage presence. Their horn section is super vibrant with so much playfulness. They played two sets and were expert soloists. 100% recommend to anyone who likes groove, funk, jam, and oldies.
If you’re a Depeche Mode fan, you cannot go wrong with seeing Strangelove! They are spot on and know how to get the audience pumped for a great night of live music!
Worth the price of admission just to see them perform "Mad as a Hatter". But the reality is they already have such a great catalog of songs that are incredible live performance.
Great show. Roger Waters was playing in town the same night and when they came out for their encore they thanked everyone for showing up with other great choices, and then played an amazing Pink Floyd set. Spafford has grown to be one of my favorite bands live, and glad they make their way up to Salt Lake. I lived in Scottsdale for 25 years but have now seen Spafford here as many times as I had seen them in AZ.
Great show! Hard to beleive he's 72. His 12 string shined. Played some Petty favorites too. The Dirty Knobs were good also. First time at The Commonwealth, great venue.
This band is one of my favorites to see live. Great sound and audience interaction. Their catalog of music is lyrically brilliant. They write music that speaks to one’s soul. If you get a chance, go to one of their shows—you’ll be hooked. 👍
Sells out a show, then cancels day of. Gives odd reasons..... Essentially I'm writing to express that this all sounds very lame and super poor for the fans. While I'm curious about what actually happened between the band and venue, I find this to be horses**t. Would love to hear a statement from the band to clarify, because the venue is only giving half the story and making the band sound sorta fancy and arrogant. (Apparently there was a laundry list of reasons for cancellation including there being a rug on stage and a disco ball.) I can tell we're not getting the whole story, so why did this band cancel on a sold out show and what does the band have to say to its fan base?
Beyond incredible experience! Never have I ever been to a show where no one was on there phones! It’s always someone if not everyone on their phones. He had us all captivated. It was unreal. Not a single screen to block my view. He’s amazing. 🫶🏽
These guys are true professionals. Tighter than a lizards butthole. Not to mention the sound quality and mix at The Commonwealth Room literally couldn't be better. Only bummer is starting so late. But you can guarantee I'll come back. A++
Another top notch performance from the prolific and legendary band The Church.
Steve vocals and prowess on stage was in top form playing classics from the 80s , 90s and modern classics from recent albums . We were even treated to 3 new songs from the yet to be released new album Hypnagoge! Lots of cool shirts to pick from at the merch table!
Truly a special night even had the opportunity to interact and hang out a little with band after the show!
The show at the Commonwealth Room was another memorable moment of Church history in Utah. The new drummer who looked like he was plucked straight out of a pharmacy in New Zealand, played with the confidence and aplomb of a veteran drummer, who as Steven Kilbey confided to the audience was only playing his fourth live show.
No other band paints an aural landscape like
The Church. So cheers mates, job well done.
Two of my favorite blues rock artists together in one show. They are both amazing guitarists and were both were spot on Friday night. The only negative was that the venue sectioned off about 75% for chairs and didn't leave much for general admission. We were crammed way over to the far left side. Who wants to sit at a concert like that?!
TINSLEY is one of the most gifted, MAGNIFICENT artists that our ears have have the blissful pleasure of hearing!!!!!
The way that he composes songs, one can FEEL the messages that he portrays.
The BLUES come in many colors and flavors, Tinsley is one of the BEST.
Someone summed it up one day by saying "EVERYONE loves Tinsley"!!!!!!!!!
We do.
WHAT a excellent show with Tommy Castro and the Painkillers!!!!!!
My ears haven't touched the ground yet!!!!
Such amazing guys. The power went out at the venue. They just rolled with it and play acoustically and connected with the audience in a way I dont think would have happened otherwise.
