Canberra Southern Cross Club

This is the second time I’ve seen Simon solo and he was as good the second time. He’s a very talented guitarist and the guitarists in the room were spellbound. I’d like to see Simon with his band as many of his songs relied on drums and rhythm guitar which he’d recorded and was playing via loop pedals, which made for quite a fussy and distracting performance. I was hankering for a more simple approach because when Simon just plays and sings, it is quite magical. He has some beautiful originals and the song he wrote for his brother, Beyond Missouri Skies, was a stand out.
