Just got home from the kick-off show in Wash DC for the tour: Rachael [and crew, esp sound ;~)] have Spark!! Big heart, big sound, and the new music is very very good! My wife and I were mesmerized at her inviting, informal and deeply felt delivery of new and old hits. Her repore with the audience is remarkable. Go see, celebrate new energy with Yamagata-san! - Glen & Susan
Consistent A/C (although very warm at max capacity), great lighting and sound mixing, convenient spots for merch, and fast service to get into the venue. It was a bit hard to find the venue itself though based on GPS. It’s down a pedestrian only pavilion off the street the directions stop at. I would TOTALLY come here again.
Awesome show! Union Stage at the Wharf in DC is standing room only, but there’s a select few tables in the rear for early arrivals. The show is on the lower level below ground, and there’s a bar on both levels, which serves food!
The show was scheduled to begin at 8 pm and it did, with an opening act. Charlotte started exactly at 9 pm and performed for over an hour! She had a small ensemble (harp, cello, drums, guitars) and even played the sax during her show. It was amazing.
They need work on their craft, especially that Jam band style of trading off between artists. The drummer was great. The bass guitarist never really had a chance to solo. the keyboard was muted and washed out by the other artists. They should work on their lyrics. Final word, is that they have potential, just need work
Hobo Johnson is in theory a raucous good time when live, he’s a smart, naturally funny, gregarious person who seems like he could do a good job working a crowd. His new album even holds up to the first one.
Hobo Johnson is in reality a guy who is clearly not sure how to handle not having a band, and who is neither confident enough to play his new stuff or cynical/crowd-pleasing enough to lean on the old stuff. This means the set just wasn’t great. He played what felt like a random 10 songs, 6 of which were mostly not his hits nor his new stuff, 7 of which were just over taped backing tracks, and with 1/3 of the time on stage was what felt like improv poetry slamming, which was boring. He faked out an encore (said there were “2, maybe 3 songs left” and then didn’t play a 3rd song), and never played “Typical Story”.
I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2 because for peach scone he pulled up an audience member to play guitar which was *awesome* and very memorable and fun. That freewheeling audience involvement was a glint of what a fun hobo Johnson concert could be.
Amazing show. Frank is so down to earth and puts on a great performance. I was surprised to see him solo (I'm behind lol). However, this is my 4th show (fiance's 2nd) seeing Hobo and I go whenever he is on the east coast and will continue. My favorite artist since 2018. I shared his music with my now fiancé on our first date and then with our kids and now we are one big hobo family. Much love!
The Best Show I have been too in 2023. I go to a minimum of a show a month and this show blew all of those out of the ball park. Dylan and Julian are incredible kind people as well as being wonderful performers. Lots of stage presence and vocals are on point to the recordings. Went home looking for flights to the next show, which unfortunately sold out. Will be making an effort to see them again
If you are expecting a mellow bossa nova vibe like some of his bigger hits sorry but this isn’t the show for you. His show was LOUD. The speakers were almost breaking with bass. I know it wasn’t the venues fault bc I have been there before and the sound was great. He seems to be going more hard on future tracks. So if you want to have music blasted at you and a hype crowd that goes crazy when they play bad bunny songs between sets then this is the show for you.
Not to say ¿téo? isn’t a good singer and interacts with the crowd. He is and does! But just a very lackluster live performance and he had no chemistry with his band mates and again just so loud you could barely hear him sing)
As an artisit, ¿téo? is pretty cool because of his versatility. I was not a fan of the venue. The sound was horrible, terrible even. The environment was very meh
The time between the opening artist and ¿téo? was filled with awkward background music and a few random reggaeton songs.
I've been following Jake Smith aka White Buffalo since I first heard "Wrong" on the Shelter soundtrack and have bought all of his cd's. He always delivers an incredible live performance and his music and songs tell captivating stories. I truly enjoy his music and concerts and last night at Union Stage was no exception. It was a kick ass show!
nny to know that I will always be there for him and support him along his life decisions and music journey. I also really want to thank everyone for supporting Johnny Orlando with his music career. Also i’m soooo proud of Johnny for 4 years in a row for the MTV EMA AWARDS!!!! love you forever Johnny. Thank you again for everything. You help me more than you think! Also thank you to his mom and dad for being there through out his music journey. You guys were so sweet and nice when we met Johnny’s mom and dad I saw his sister which is also his manager. Quick little storytime when i met Johnny, So me and my mom were waiting in the merch line to get some of Johnny’s merch because it wasn’t released on the merch store for the people that didn’t get VIP upgrades for the show. So anyways, me and my mom are standing in the line and his mom and his sister/manager are saying, the card reader wasn’t working the way it was supposed to. So they call Johnny over, And here comes Johnny and i’m like “Mom, Mom, Mom!” That’s Johnny look! And then he comes over to where the card reader was, and here comes Johnny to the rescue. He ended up fixing the card reader! What would we do without you Johnny? Lol anyways enjoy these pictures I took at the Washington, D.C show on April 21, 2022.
This was the picture i decided to take while Johnny was fixing the card reader lol:
Kurt Travis? More like PERQ Travis!! This man was hitting notes that I never knew he could. He sounded b.e.t.t.e.r than the records somehow. This man is overpowered, and he’s now a problem. If you’re on the fence about going to this show, get off it, put your vans on, and go to this show.
My daughter and I have been a fan of the movies and made the switch over to the songs. Having a meet and greet was a great experience (just wish we weren't freezing the entire time) Laura has such a wonderful voice and stage presence. My girl can't stop talking about how Laura winked at her and would sing to her on stage. I'm grateful for being able to experience this with her.
The music was amazing! Mereba kept high energy and sang her butt off during her 45m set. My only complaint is why did it take 1 hour and 10 mins for her to come out ? It was hot inside the venue and to stand and wait that long was exhausting.
She is an incomparable artist. He has an impressive talent and he showed it on stage. He raised his songs to the highest possible level and gave an unforgettable musical and visual show, in addition to his incredible live voice. This has been an experience I will never forget.
Show was great surprised my daughter as an Easter gift since she is 15 yrs old. She enjoyed herself that she cried after the show. Wish I would have known about VIP pass would have definitely had paid for her to meet him. Also his parents were very sweet and welcoming such great people. Until next time.

Upsahl concert at Union Stage was amazing !
The venue was small and intimate so I was close to the stage . Taylor Upsahl and gave us a great show with her distinctive style that mixes alternative sound with hints of techno and pop. She had a clear beautiful voice throughout the concert and her energy was super positive and fun ! Her music has great hooks she writes her own lyrics that I find so clever so witty and so relatable. She is beautiful and a very sweet and fun human being , I saw her concert already in New York and at the meet and great at the end of the concert she was extremely sweet, friendly and fun with everybody . I am probably her oldest French fan ! I am 58 years old and I am the living proof that when an artist is talented and her music and song writing is good , it doesn’t matter how young or how old you are. She is only 22 years old and already have a huge repertoire of great songs, 1 fantastic EP and one fantastic album named « Lady Jesus » that came out recently in 2021.
Also the experience was enjoyable at the warm and Cosy venue Union stage as all the staff woking there was extremely friendly and kind .
I live in New York City , rented a car and specifically went to Washington DC to see her concert at Union stage It was amazing. Upsahl is on the rise and to my opinion she is the next big thing !
I appreciate her music so much that I drove to Philadelphia the next evening to see her concert again at The Fillmore !!
So yes !! I extremely enjoyed the performance of Upsahl at Union Stage in DC and I am such a fan of hé music that I saw her again the following day in an other city !!

It was one, if not the best experience of my life. Everyone on stage and in the crowd were amazing and very nice. I was lucky enough to also meet Addison Grace and Kid Sistr after the show and we had a conversation. All in all, very fun times and I’m very happy I went.
this show was so amazing !!!!! chloe has such a wonderful stage presence, they’re so kind and singing along with them was so much fun. the venue was very nice and all the staff were very friendly. both opening acts, addison grace and kid sistr, were incredible. all around, tickets to this event were the best $25 i’ve ever spent
I’ve been following Kiefer and his music online for a couple years now and was audibly exhilarated to hear that he was coming back to DC. At first glance when he was setting up his equipment before his set, I recognized a very slight frustration or worrisome look on his face—untangling some cords and plugins while eye scanning the intimate crowd— but this could be due to numerous unknown reasons. And it doesn’t help that there were some fans sitting on the stage which may have come off as a bit disrespectful, which I wholeheartedly understand. I really wanted him to be in his best mood/comfort zone during his visit to the capital, and was hoping the rest of the crowd felt the same way. Once his keyboard, laptop, and all his other gadgets were set up, I was stoked to watch him re-enter the stage and commence his set. Kiefer struck me as an incredibly charismatic guy with a goofy flare. After a warm introduction of himself, Kiefer began to play—and what followed was an unforgettable performance that captured multitudes of self expression through his powerhouse beats, woven together with his beautifully rich and original chord progressions that truly showcased his fluidity behind the keys. Truthfully, it can be tricky to come up with new methods and ideas as a one-man show solely depending on beats and piano alone. But for Kiefer, his unique approach to the keys has become a staple for the hip-hop beats he produces, which remarkably encompasses his knowledge and homage to jazz and hip-hop altogether. Kiefer’s emotionally raw performance confirmed to me that he has authoritatively shaped a signature style of music for himself—a style that I can confidently say will deeply inspire many jazz and hip-hop musicians to come.
