It’s just a matter of time before Noah is filling stadiums. We were incredibly fortunate to catch this man with his guitar in a small venue. His songs are real. They touch me deeply. He’s a story teller and connects deeply to the source of music.
Deep, beautiful connection. Thank you Noah!
Listen to his music. Go to a show if you can find one.
Super concert in the end. A lot of hate online, not sure why. I have not had the pleasure of seeing the original lineup but was a bit startled to see Gramps with a bunch of junior uni students. Turns out Gramps still shreds (literally he is mostly making noise with occasional chords) and the new kids on the block snarl, play rolling thunder bass and thunderous drums. The interesting part is how much they now own the material. It's not a cover band, they are redoing the material inside out. Can you imagine a 10 minute 'slip it in' with a 20 year old woman snarling it? Fun bass led circle dance at one point.
It might be time to get the drummer some better gear? Lots of potential held back by a rather basic drum kit.
Gregg Ginn plays really odd. Clearly he masters his stuff, and this is where BF stands out. It's not two or three cords and everything hurled out. It's noise guitar, detuned and fuzzy, with occasional lapses into tunes to see it all together. And hurled out with venom. The guy looks like he needs a nap but give him a guitar and off he goes
Group is tight, they know the material and it's a bit like seeing a reincarnation of BF into something new and interesting. I would see them again for the live playing.
The band was tight and ferocious. Daniel Romano was electrifying during songs and hilarious between them, and Mod Lang was a great opener. Thanks for coming to Ottawa!
Billy Raffoul is an incredible artist and performer! Not only does he engage his audience on the stage, but he is always willing to stick around after a show to take a selfie with his fans. He definitely has a following and devoted fans, which is no surprise as he always shares his gratitude for the support he has received along his journey. Billy writes his own music, and it is so beautiful to see him perform as fans can appreciate the meaning behind each song. The best thing about Billy is that he hypes up other artists, including his brother, Peter Raffoul, who is also a star in my books. If you ever get a chance to see any of the Raffoul family perform, you won’t be disappointed.
They were great - shame the crowd was so quiet. They are 100% able to pull off all the sonic trickery of their albums, and are an underappreciated Canadian treasure. Can't blame them for not doing an encore - between the quiet crowd and the fact that they have to walk thru the crowd to get to the green room (?!?) ... They even gave the Crazy Train 'heckle' some serious consideration. Thanks for the show, team!
Bodysnatchers music really hits hard for me. I'm in recovery so songs like Murder8 mean alot to me, especially having lost friends to fentanyl. Good vibes and great music. Would definitely recommend seeing them live if you get the chance.
Ottawa misses you! It was one of the liveliest and most entertaining shows my partner and I had ever been to! I still have fond memories of going to such a fun show. We hope you come back!!❤️
The concert was amazing!! I had been wanting to see fish in a birdcage live for 5 years now and jumped on the opportunity to do just that. The venue was lovely, small and intimate which was wonderful, the only downside about the venue is that it was in a sketchier part of town but overall I had a great experience. I even got the chance to talk to Dustan after the concert and he was so so nice!!! And the other two artists, Shayfer James and Sparkbird were both amazing as well!!! I also got the chance to talk to both of them and they were both lovely :) The crowd was wonderful as well, I even made a few friends up in the front where I was. Overall, 10/10 concert experience!!
Amazing. Sonreal is a wonderful artist. It was nice to have him back in Ottawa. The VIP portion was very special an the show, phenomenal. Shout out to the venue, The 27 Club, very nice, down to earth staff.
I was not that interested in this band before. Just was not my cup of tea. But they put on such a KILLER live show, I happy to start following then, and supporting them.
