Nate Jackson was outstanding. I laughed so hard my stomach was hurting and I was afraid I would have an asthma attack. Use your inhaler before he starts his set if you have asthma. Love him.
Wild ride of over 40 songs, soul bearing, insanity and hilarity rolled into almost 3.5 hours. The only downside was those painful seats! My knees would not even fit without being crushed against the seat in front of me.
Ryan Adams put on an amazing show at the Lyric Theater in Birmingham Tuesday night. He performed for well over three hours and turned in a set list that featured close to forty songs. An all acoustic show, Adams played the piano, the guitar sitting down, and the guitar standing up. A highlight of the evening was him tinkling the keys at the piano and doing a nicely understated version of “New York, New York.” He also covered in an admirable fashion Hank Williams (“I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry”) and Lynyrd Skynryd (“Sweet Home Alabama “). When Adams did the Whiskeytown song “16 Days,” he received an ecstatic reaction from the crowd. Adams ended the concert with a very fine “Come Pick Me Up.” Beforehand he explained in a humorous fashion how it related to his first girlfriend after he moved to Raleigh.
Birmingham Lyric Theater was an amazing venue hosting an awesome band! The Mavericks never disappoint. This is why they have such a loyal following. Loved it!
AMAZING SHOW! I've seen them half a dozen times or so and this was probably the best. Their energy was off the chart and Raul's voice was like GOLD. Afterwards they were outside talking to fans and taking pictures which was so nice. Truly one of the most underrated bands in the music industry today.
I wasn't too sure about the Trilogy Tour because I've been to several BC concerts. I was not disappointed: the show was a show within itself!! The music and sound production was superb and had the audience on their feet dancing!
The Lyric Theater is over 100 years old Mr.Vai told me, he said what a wonderful place to play! It was! This place is beautiful! Great service as far as finding your seat, drinks where a little too high, but I’m sure it went back into the theater…. This is one of the best sounding theater’s I’ve ever been in…..
This was my first time seeing Brian Culbertson in person, but it won’t be the last! His performance was great! I enjoyed it from beginning to end, and loved Marcus’ performance as well. I’m so happy I went and I’m looking forward to the next show!
