Fantastic show. It was my first time seeing Uncle Acid and seeing Nell Ora Blu performed live was a great experience. Looking forward to seeing them again in the future for one of their "normal" shows, but I'm extremely happy I got to experience this album live seeing as how it will probably never be played live again.
I have been to many dozens (hundreds?) of concerts over the years and I will always remember this one as something truly truly special. I have seen Elisapie perform before and she is an amazing, inspirational, commanding, inspiring artist, but this show was a whole other level. I was not expecting the number of musicians, collaborators, artists, and community that went into this concert. The sum of the parts was truly greater than the whole in this case. Everything was elevated, from the costume design, lighting (such incredible lighting, my kudos to the lighting director) projections, guests, performances, sound quality, instrumentation… I could go on and on.
Truly an amazing example of the power of community and an artist who inspires with their talent and devotion.
Absolutely fantastic show! The band had trouble with the tour bus and barely made it in time, making it so the merch stand had to be stocked during the show. I was relatively close to the front of the line and only got my merch halfway through blessthefall's set. The show itself though was great, I will definitely be back whenever they're in town next! Great crowd interactions, and the biggest mosh I've seen so far!
From beginning to end, the Cult delivered as always. From In The Clouds to She Sells Sanctuary, the band was on fire (no pun intended) Ressurection Joe was played live in Canada for the first time at this show. Ian Astbury's voice is still beautiful, and Billy rocks that Gibson just as well. The entire MTELUS crowd sang each song in unison, audible on every video shot by everyone. The crowd was lively for the entire show. Montreal loves the Cult, and they show it. Also, I was in the front row center, so I witnessed all this from the best place ever. After the band played Fire Woman, Ian handed me "The Holy Grail" himself, the Holy Grail being his tambourine, that he earlier had cut himself on, left blood stains, and is currently wrapped in a blanket near my bed. Overall, excellent performance considering this is the 40th anniversary of the band and they are now in their 60's.
Looking forward to the next show I am attending, London UK Nov 5th 2024. Trip of a lifetime.
The show was the best ever. The energy between Ragga and Jr Gong is electric, they feed off each other, a perfect balance. They did not disappoint. From beginning to end, Dj's to Rasta vibes from Marleys the show is an event not to be missed. I see the Jamrock Cruise in my future.
Métropolis as usually is a really place to be. Band was impeccable. Better than 18 years ago, if ever there's a difference in the two. Set was amazing (whole first album and other gems). Bass saxophone was a first time live and it couldn't fit better. Great as usual. Montreal loves you.
👌 Merci Men I Trust 😁
Such great performers, had a blast..
But to people in the crowd, please be aware of who you’re around and pushing and stepping on & for the love of god stop pushing your way to the front of the crowd.. if you were not there early enough to secure a spot at the front don’t take away the enjoyment of the people who did arrive early and waited
Super tight, everybody had fun and wanted to chat with anybody. The pit was perfect, and the band delivered a solid setlist. Tatiana has a very pleasant presence on the scene and the band seemed very happy to come play Thursday evening. I left the place positively wanting to hear more, however if I rethink about it, the band could have used a little more energy.
TOVE LO IS AMAZING LIVE!!! This is the 3rd or 4th time I've seen her and honestly she's so amazing. I love that she also plays her songs from multiple different albums, not just the really popular old ones or the new ones. Amazing show, I will go again when she comes back.
Excellent show!
The bands were incredible, amazing energy and the crowd fed on that shit making the experience incredible. CC moshpits were just mental.
The sound crew however dropped the ball big fucking time. We basically had a drum show for Black Anvil and Immolation as well as the beginning of the Dark Funeral set. They somehow also muted the vocals for a while during Dark Funeral. Thankfully they got their shit together for Cannibal Corpse, but I can't help but feel bad for all the other bands that gave their best.
Sound was not good. We could not feel the base on the dance floor which is an issue for this kind of show. The duo was not really lifting up the vibe on stage so the dance floor was ok but nothing more. Performance lasted exactly 90 minutes with a single encore. We waited for that show for over 2 years so they could have been a bit more generous.
The show was like all of their shows, EPIC and EMOTIONALLY CHARGED. Since their beginning my best friend, her sister, my brother and I have been HUGE fans, Alexisonfire is our favorite band ever. This show was special because the 4 of us were able to share the amazing experience of an Alexisonfire show at MTELUS (formerly Metropolis) which is our favorite venue, with my youngest brother who was always too young and little to attend a show before their farewell tour. We were able to relive the pure joy and emotion for the first time again through him. It was spectacular! They showed up and tore into our hearts with their voices and characters. The guys of Alexisonfire are so passionate and full of wonder, always making Montreal feel special and always delivering the most energetic and meaningful performances, bonding with the crowd. Great music transcends generations, sharing this with the people I love most is a gift and I cannot wait for us all to share the love of these guys and their music with my son.
Loved every moment. The entire ensemble has such great chemistry and their passion is so visibly in how they play the music. Woodkid and his team is also amazing at controlling the audience, so many great interactions.
10/10 would go again. But next time would be when he visits Toronto, I didn't understand a word of French he was speaking 😂
Nightwish do not disappoint. Excellent show with an emphasis on older material while still showcasing material from Human Nature. Floor (quite deservedly) commands the stage and most of the attention which is quite the feat given the levels of musicianship displayed by the boys. Really great to see a full house and a sold out show in Montreal again. I got to the venue just before the doors opened and the line up was a good five blocks. Once the line started moving everyone got in pretty quickly. Beast in Black had a challenge in that most of the audience wasn’t there to see them, but they put on a great warm up set of about 40 min including some crowd favourites, setting up Nightwish’s two hour set. Thank you Nightwish, concerts are back!
Performances from every of the three bands were top notch, but there were two big minuses for all three. First, we couldn't see all of the stage for most of the show(especially architects and while she sleeps) and second, the sound engineering wasn't so great. We could clearly hear the singers and the bass drum, but for the rest, it wasn't crystal clear.
I personally came specifically for Architects so I'm going to add a side note: I was kind of surprised os Sam's lows. I never heard him do such a thing in the past years of seeing him live. It kind of felt like an easy way to get out of his restless kind of singing. But, I want to add that he still sounded like one of the best out of his genre.
Even without a top quality sound engineering(I want to ads here that it may be caused by the venue's shape or material) I still managed to have an amazing night, probably because I knew every song by heart and the common typical friendly Canadian crowd here in Montreal.
Sending love to y'all and Architects members!
R.I.P Tom!
