Really enjoyed it. Took my 32-year-old daughter with me. She enjoyed it too. The only other time I saw America was around 1975. They were playing in a much larger venue, it was not as calm as last night was, lol. But they still sound great. I’m so glad I was able to see them again!
While this venue, in my opinion, is sub-par for concerts it seems better suited for comedy and events that don't push the limits of sound quality vs volume. Brian was his usual excellent self and provided a fun event for the crowd.
The openers were pretty good and the first guy made me hurt my front. My wife and I loved Rob and his unwavering commitment and dedication to his beliefs. We are so glad we got the chance to see him in person and be part of the movement that he is helping to lead with a platform that helps with saving our country. We love you Rob. Keep coming to St. Petersburg so we can keep seeing you and supporting your wife’s point spending habit.
This show happened a little over a week after getting hit with one hurricane and 3 days before we are set to get hit with another one. Why do I say that? Well, while the theater was approximately filled to 90% capacity it seemed the vibe of the crowd was very subdued and not as into the show as I would have expected. Also, I don't think sound checks were done properly or rushed because, while loud is good, the constant high-pitched squealing was definitely not appreciated. Also, the mix had Chris's vocals in the background and overpowered by the other instruments.
Black Crows played great with good energy and a nice setlist. I can't explain it well but something was off about this show almost from when the doors opened. I actually saw people checking their phones during the show to get updates on the approaching storm, Milton. That's why I feel the weather situation played some part in the sleepy vibe of the audience. If they ever play St. Pete again I would love to seem them at Jannus Live rather than the Mahaffey.
The artist was amazing, but the sound quality was terrible! We were on the aisle, on the right side of the theater (looking toward the stage), and we honestly couldn't make out a word either performer was singing! It was very frustrating. We have never been to that venue before, and we don't know if it was a normal venue issue or a sound person issue. We are curious to know if others experienced the same thing?
This show was great!! Not only did they sing great, Peter was very funny and entertaining! The venue is beautiful and reasonably priced Went there the night before to see the Carpenters Top Of The World Show which I loved! Also going to Taylor Tomlinson there. We go to this venue whenever we come to St. Pete. Go See Herman Hermit's wherever you can, you won't be disappointed!
What an incredible performer SCC is! I’ve been waiting over 20 years to see “my friend”, Steven, in concert. He did not disappoint. He’s a wonderful human being as well and so humble. Truly a great musician and singer!. We enjoyed the show immensely!
This was the third time we saw Pink Martini in 13 months. And second time at the Mahaffey Theater. We travel from Buffalo, New York each time to see them. The venue is the perfect theater for Pink Martini with excellent acoustics regardless of your seat. Its also clean, modern and staff very friendly with convenient parking.
As for Pink Martini...they were fabulous as always!!! Love China Forbes and Thomas Lauderdale. Was so happy that Jimmy was there again...his voice brings me to tears. They played most of our favorites. Picking requests for the second half of show was something new for us but was fun with their attempts to read the messages. And we witnessed a proposal! That was a first!
We also brought guests with us this year and they are now new fans!
First off, I want to say that Momma Patti looks phenomenal! ...and yes that voice!!! But...I was a "little" disappointing that she didn't perform long. The show started a little after 7pm but it ended around 8:30....when she grabbed her flowers and said, "good night-I love you!" my mouth hit the floor...! After that the curtain came down! The last time I saw her show was in 2018 (?) Virginia just before COVID and that was THE SHOW to witness! She started on time and then carried us through for 2 hours.
I know that we're all getting older and I know that touring can be very grueling, but I was made aware that Gladys Knight's show is set up the same way. I was in row 10 from the stage and they were great seats and the price per ticket was pretty good. If they were Beyonce or Madonna ticket prices, I would have not been a happy camper!
I'm still glad I went and as always, Patti-Patti makes you feel at home!
Still lover her!!!
What a great show, very musical and really showcases the love that John Oates and Guthrie Trapp have for performing live. The smallish venue and their presence on stage really made the concert feel personal. The play list was great, and John Oates is an amazing musician! Guthrie Trapp, simply amazing talent, and great presence on stage. The chemistry between them really enhances the enjoyment of the show. Storytelling and great music, so much more than I had hoped for from 2 acoustic guitars
Don't miss this show, excellent!
First time to this venue and thoroughly enjoy it.
Taylor Dayne didn't disappoint in fact she sounded as if time stood still and she rocked the place. We didn't sit down the entire show.
I would go and see her again again and highly recommend anyone to get out and see this marvelous performer do what she was born to do. SING!!!
Band was great. Great setlist for longtime fans. Five stars for the band.
Sorry to say the sound of the venue was horrible. Did not seem like the right place for that genre. No sound baffles. Huge reverb tank. Could barely hear lead singer.
Beth gave a soulful performance with her powerful voice that resonates her talent, energy, honesty and heartfelt appreciation for life, family and fans. Truly a beautiful musician and person, inside and out. John Oates and Guthrie Trapp’s opening acoustic duo was a pure joy to listen to.
The band was great. They're still the best performers out there. They just keep getting better! Unfortunately, the sound quality in the venue wasn't good at all. Kind of disappointing as it really detracted from the overall quality of the show and experience.
Band was great. Great setlist for longtime fans. Five stars for the band.
Sorry to say the sound of the venue was horrible. Did not seem like the right place for that genre. No sound baffles. Huge reverb tank. Could barely hear lead singer.
Our fourth show having enjoyed then in Philadelphia, Dallas and twice in FL. They never disappoint. Amazing they continue to perform with energy and passion. What a bonus to have Ari Shapiro perform as his voice is divine. I missed Elohai NTzor because he is unparalleled in his part. Edna great as always and the regulars kept us tapping our feet. The multicultural flair and scope of this group is so enjoyable. We hope to see you again next year!
The set was great though I was disappointed with the Mahaffey acoustics. I LOVED everything that was going on in the show, so much to look at! The last time I saw him perform live he was at The Palladium, NYC in nineteen seventy nine. So glad he beat the Big C and continues to share his time and talent with us.
Best concert EVER! My wife and I waited over 30 years to see Simple Minds. This was a memorable concert because the date of the concert marked our 22nd wedding anniversary AND the venue was the location where we hosted our wedding reception. I hope Simple Minds tours in the U.S. again SOON! Jim’s voice is spot-on and the new material only further augmented decades of exceptional music.
It took 13 years but I finally got to see Daughtry live and they were amazing!! I bought 2 tickets for my mom and I as her birthday gift and she was so happy with the show. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
