City Winery Boston

Sam & Vince were excellent! True artists & entertainers. They were perfect together! I would absolutely see them again. Just NOT at the Boston City Winery. The venue was less than stellar. They had the tables packed in too close to each other. I paid extra to sit in the front, center row. I was being squashed by some rude and drunk women behind me. I had to leave my seat for the second set and stand on the side of the room for the remainder of the show. City Winery should put their customer's comfort over trying to sell a few extra tickets.

Viaje desde México específicamente a Boston para ver a mi banda favorita (SNTR). Disfrute mucho el concierto en City Winery, porque puedes pedir comida y todo lo que pedí estuvo exquisito. La calidad del concierto me pareció fenomenal, la voz de Leigh y el sonido de la guitarra y las percusiones, wow!!! Aunque su setlist estuvo genial me hubiera gustado que incluyeran éxitos como "Waiting Room" , "I can´t catch you", "The lines of my hearth", "Puedo escribir" y "A million parachutes".

The venue wasn't good. That's being gracious about it. We were packed in like sardines. It was worse than flying economy class. However, all things considered, I was grateful for the chance to hear Annie Haslam's truly amazing voice before they call it quits. The concert t-shirt is a work of art. Really. Maybe the most beautiful one I've ever seen. The poster is the same image as the t-shirt. I'm going to frame it and proudly hang it up on the wall of my man cave, next to my Robin Trower concert poster.

Stella was amazing. She has such an incredible voice at such a young age. And what a gift she shares with her audience, both young and older, in reviving and energizing one of the greatest generations of jazz standards ever known. Thank you Stella for making my wife’s 68th birthday so special and we look forward to seeing you again next Spring at the Blue Note in Napa. We’ll buy tickets as soon as the date is announced and share the news with our friends.

Loved Jackie! 5 stars for her great person and performance. CWB itself has a nice ambience and I've enjoyed shows there before. However... 1. The address listed for the discounted parking garage is not where the entrance to the garage is. To find it, I drove around the block twice through super-crowded streets because of the nice weather and Celtics game that night then double parked to ask for help and to walk looking for it. Although the parking cost was reasonable, it occured to me that the garage didnt know I was at CWB; and I didnt see a way to validate my garage ticket at CWB. 2. The pizza was terrible. I've eaten lots of pizza in many places, including two day old leftovers. The CWB mushroom pizza was among the worst. It was cold, soft and doughy - and whats with the forest of greens on it? The greens werent listed in the menu as an ingredient and they added to my unhappiness with it. Please do better. Barry Hock barry.hock@yahoo. com

Fantastic show! Taj and the band were on fire. Non stop music. It’s so great to see a young player honor the blues players who paved the way for him and other young players The Farrant family made sure EVERYONE got a chance to say hello and greet them. Such an exciting show! I recommended this show to a friend, he was blown away ! Loved it! As we all did I can’t wait to see Taj again

This was the first time that we saw Raul doing a solo act, and we were not disappointed. It was nice to see him in a intimate setting. The song selection was great, playing some new tunes from the new album coming out with the Mavericks. He has such a smooth voice, he is also a very guy when he interacted with audience. If you ever get the chance to see Raul, go for it!

Well, I did not read fine print and found out at the show it was a movie preview of the band and AW was the only band member to play, after the movie for about 30 minutes. That said, overall the documentary is well done and reinforced my desire to see LCC live. But it was a bummer. The venue itself is intimate but poorly laid out for stage viewing. Finally, I paid extra for Stage Premier seating but in the case of this show there was no segmentation for different sections. It was all open which made me feel a little screwed for paying more ….

AEG never disappoints! This was an exceptional evening complemented by the band Sirsy with a powerful female singer and talented electric guitarist as well as guest keyboardist, Adam's cousin. Let's not forget a gospel duet Adam and his mother sang beautifully. City Winery is a perfect venue for such a show. Adam always makes you feel like he invited you into his living room for a chat. AEG always gives a heartfelt concert!

Great band. So fun. Great set list. Second time I've seen them this year. First time was at The Cabot in Beverly, MA. Was three seats from the stage. Not sure how it would have been farther away, but was truly awesome from there. Will say that City Winery really really really packs everyone in. Once you sit you can't move. You can't even really shift how you are sitting. So curious if it's ok with the fire marshall believe it or not. Would love to see them come to Infinity Hall in Hartford. Will keep seeing them when they are around!

My wife and I have been Aztec Two-Step fans for 50 years. While they put on a good show without Neil they are not the same. Rex’s age is showing on stage and I think it may be time to retire. Given that there was only 20 of us in the audience I think the time has come. On a positive note it was our first time at City Winery and we enjoyed the experience and will be back.

Great show! Riopy was very entertaining musically as well as being very intriguing personally. Such a beautiful composer and skillful pianist. And his difficult life story, shared between pieces, made the music even more poignant. We listen to him at home and was pleased to hear some familiar pieces mixed with new compositions and experimental techniques. We hope he keeps Boston City Winery on his concert tour schedule in future!

An entertaining enough evening but a bit of a letdown. An issue with the venue was their insistence on using their app to order and pay for food and beverages, but it was very glitchy (e.g. disparate people ending up on the same tab, the need to re-enter your info multiple times to successfully order, and servers unable to find out who ordered what). The opening act was The Loyal Seas who had a number of technical issues, though some of that didn't seem to be completely their fault (having to enlist a last-minute replacement on bass due to some family matters that almost prevented them from performing). Their music is pleasant enough, but also fairly low-key, so it was more relaxing than energizing. It was great to hear Kay Hanley and her band play (most of) her album Cherry Marmalade (excluding one song that, unfortunately, is one of the best on the album in my opinion, so it was a bit of a disappointment not to hear that one). After a run-through of the album, there was a short set of some of her other solo work. The stories behind the making of the album and some of the other songs in the set were interesting, emotional and entertaining. Since they were both local bands, there were a number of people intimately familiar with the band who had no qualms about conversing with the band (and vice-versa in some instances). We get that you have a history, but it got to the point where it was exclusive to those who just wanted to enjoy the performance. Perhaps an official meet and greet would have prevented those detours.

Sonny and Cindy shared that this was the first show of their tour and was therefore a rehearsal. Unfortunately it felt that way. Sonny is a phenomenal guitarist and Cindy Cashdollar is probably a great musician as well, but her sound was never right. Too quiet, or too loud, with painful pops coming off one of her guitars. The show was shorter than I would have liked. City Winery was a decent space, but I have to blame them for not being well prepared to host these two. There were also some struggles with the opener as well.

Grace Kelly -- along with three talented musicians inside a relaxing and comfortable venue -- was a fulfilling experience in every way. I do not recall hearing a musician whose playing evoked such a range of emotions and connections. From playing Monk to playing originals, the only question I kept asking was, "How is this powerful artist not playing at Madison Square Garden tonight?" Then I checked myself and thought, "Thank god she's here at City Winery instead!" Write it down: Grace Kelly. City Winery. Great food.

The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow is one of America's most underappreciated and under-recognized bands. All five members are very talented musicians, singers and songwriters. And they have a great rhythm section. They played more of their hard rocking songs than the softer acoustic material. They also did a number of new songs I hadn't heard before. They were very high energy, and perhaps a bit louder than I would have liked, but the energy was palpable, and the audience seemed to like that. They shift from serious to funny songs without missing a beat. They obviously love playing for an audience, and the enthusiasm is infectious. Several band members came out to the audience after the show. I talked with Chris Merenda who seems like a very nice guy. I think they are very down to earth and I was very glad I went to the concert and helped support them. They had family and friends in the audience. It was that kind of night.

I went to City Wintery Boston for the first time. It was a great venue. The setting was smaller and more intimate. Gavin Degraw is my favorite male artist and I've seen him a half dozen times within New England over the past 5 or 6 years. I'll definitely be seeing him again and again. He and his band are so incredibly talented. They are all so friendly and down to earth. It was such a special treat to get to hear him share his new album that has not yet been released. It was a night I'll never forget.

One of the best I’ve been to recently!! Been waiting to hear her at City Winery for almost 2 years since the gig was originally announced (rescheduled due to Covid), but it was worth the wait. Sue is right up there with Samantha Fish, Ana Popovic, Emily Remler, Susan Tedeschi, Nancy Wilson and Bonnie Raitt as a singer and guitar slinger. Originally from Canada, she now plays out of Austin, and was a protege of Clifford Antone. She and her excellent band are up for 3 awards at this year’s Memphis Blues Awards. Go see her now if you can; it’s going to get a lot harder to find tickets very soon, she is that good!!

Morgan was amazing! Her voice is flawless. Her range is amazing! She has a natural ease about her performance. Her backing band is fantastic. They were so tight. Doug was doing some amazing funky riffs. They just gelled so well as a whole. The meet and greet itself was lovely. Morgan and Doug were very laid back, relaxed and down to earth. They came out with their pups much to everyone's delight, especially those in the front row who got kisses. She was funny and told us some stories. She sat down on the stage cross legged and pulled the pups on her lap as if we were all just hanging out in her loving room and sang a song for us with Doug accompanying on guitar behind her. Some of the folks she knew by name and chatted amiably with them. Overall, very pleased with the meet n greet. So glad we did it, added to the evening and made it a little more special. Bought her new CD last night, my first. Will absolutely look to complete the collection soon. I look foward to seeing her again. Best of luck on the remainder of the tour and travelling with the pups!

They NEVER disappoint. The vocals and music are out of this world amazing. You won’t find a group of nicer guys in the music business. Super humble and always kind. They played their old music, the current single, and two new songs from the upcoming album, it was fabulous. If you want to follow true talent, look no further than BBMak. They are going to bring real music back to the pop scene.
