Really one of the best overall heavy music concerts I have been to in a while; the openers, Holywatr, and ERRA, were fantastic, no semi ok support before the direct support here. Note Holywatr sounds way better then their recorded stuff, the studio recordings do not do them justice. ERRA was heavy AF and with Architects headlining, ERRA definitely forces the headliner to bring it, which Architects did (not that they wouldn't have without ERRA, but I am sure it helps). This was my first time seeing Architects after discovering them, as much of the world did when "Animals" was released as a single off their brilliant "For Those Who Wish to Exist" E.P; but they have not played in San Francisco, that I know about, until now; with the closest coming to Sacramento for an Aftershock Festival set. All that to say, I was very excited and my expectations, while high, were easily surpassed. One of the biggest reasons for that is that Architects' lone remaining founding member and Programmer (also played guitar and percussion), Dan Searle. So many heavy bands have brilliantly produced and programmed tracks, but they are typically played out as a backing track to the band's live set, so having Dan up there doing all of that live really made the show brilliant not knowing how they rolled with their live sets. Solid 75 minute set and with the precision based timing of the sets and set changes, this felt like a tight, full concert event. I would be remiss to say Sam Carter's heartfelt share about his mental health was very powerful, but personally, hearing a grown man talk about being vulnerable with other men, his bandmates, and those men having his back... Well, that is something that all men need to hear more of - Bravo!

Amazing show all around, the most perfect lineup I could've ever hoped for as I love each and every one of the bands that played. Next time make it a festival and each band can play for longer! I'd gladly pay more! Thank you for a fantastic evening. Please visit the West Coast and San Francisco, particularly more often!

BRUTAL. Just BRUTAL. Meshuggah is one of my favorite bands and they did not disappoint. From the moment they stepped on stage to their finale, everything was insanely awesome. Their set was BRUTAL, their stage presence was BRUTAL, their heaviness was BRUTAL, the staff at Masonic were BRUTAL, the mosh pits were BRUTAL.......you get my drift. The only thing that wasn't BRUTAL was the parking situation. I paid for a parking pass at the venue but I still wasn't allowed in because it was full. I must have driven around San Francisco for almost an hour trying to find a spot which made me miss Cannibal Corpse unfortunately. But at least I got to see Meshuggah tear up the city from the ground up! It was well worth it. STAY METAL MY FRIENDS 🤘🤘💀💀
