I have been obsessed with music and going to shows since 1983. I can effusively say that Deva has the most beautiful, powerful, and well trained voice that I have ever heard. Blown away. Seeing her live is a must. Technology is still too primitive to accurately capture a voice like hers.
Pacific Avenue were amazing! They put a lot of effort into making a great show, with guitar solos, audience participation, and moving around the stage. I thought it was cool that the band stood in the crowd and watched their opening act, Coast Arcade, who are also great musicians.
The venue, Meow, warned that they have very limited seating, which is true (fewer than 10 seats), but it was fortunately not hard to get a seat as almost everyone wanted to stand in the crowd.
This was Pacific Avenue's first tour to New Zealand and I'll be eagerly awaiting their next visit.
Amazing gig! I haven’t danced and sung like that at a concert for years! Mr Morby was so professional and his set was perfect; couldn’t have asked for more 👏🤙
ND were excellent. Meow, the best venue in Wellington, was excellent. The crowd was good, shoutey drunken Brit included, and pushy young women can also get a hall pass for enthusiasm. Battle jackets were out in full force, and the older gen really understand spatial awareness - cheers. I do wear earplugs for these shows and I really got to enjoy the riffs because of it. Everyone played well, and the socio-political banter interludes were on point. Thanks so much for a great night **
King Leo was a real treat, genuine blues style and sound, with great original lyrics and music. I bought the CD.
His supporting band musicians all gave individually talented performances.
The supporting acts were also excellent, different styles but very good in their own ways.
I appreciated there was plenty of seating for those of us who find standing in GA venues difficult. And great there were vegetarian options on the snacks menu!
