1st Iron Maiden concert and my brother in law got us pit pass tickets and being literally 10 feet from the stage was frickin AWESOME!!!! LIstening to their set list brought back a lot of memories from when I was a teenager 35 years ago. Cranking up the stereo in the car to the song (Run To The Hills). And the warm up band Trivium was bad ass also. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
The Hu were amazing but I'd like to know why none of the technical (side and back display) were not on or working (they worked fine for Iron Maiden). I would have like to see them up close but none of that was on. Getting in and out was fairly easy (granted we came early and left early). Also there were lots of obvious smoking especially right in front of our ADA section and we told a "security guard" who ignored us until finally another guy (not with us) began yelling they are smoking right in-front of our handicap section..do something and he sort of had to. These guys had their cigarettes right out in the open where this guard could easily see them but he chose to ignore it until enough people complained. Lastly water was not allowed in even though the venue said it was (closed bottle). My daughter needs purified water (no flouride) for medical reasons but we weren't allowed. I was told there is water inside but once inside there was not regular bottled water to purchase only canned and my disabled daughter cannot drink it as i looked it up and it is listed as containing high amount of flouride. There were no canned sodas but tap which means mixed with municipal water which also contains flouride. Otherwise the Hu themselves were great!
Five stars for Hozier. Amazing show. I'm not a fan of the venue, though, as it is so big and impersonal. The opening act, Allison Russel, was very talented and she was a beautiful person but she talked between songs for too long. Yes her message was important. But we didn't need to hear about it again and again. Just let your music speak for you.
We got there a little late not realizing that he would be one already when we head him from the parking lot we literally ran in he was absolutely amazing he looked great sounded great was energetic and hum just great he’s a god I wish he played more I would of stayed and watched him all night absolutely the best best. I we love you Marilyn Manson
The parking attendants were horrible. The seat attendance were even worse. There were so many people trying to figure out where they sat due to the weird numbering on the seats that over three quarters of the concert of counting Crows which is who I went to go see we were staring at people's back because everybody was standing up trying to let people back and forth out of their seats. All that would have had to happen is for the people of the end of the aisle to do their job and take people down and show them where they sat rather than just point a general direction. I've never been a fan of outdoor loud venues, the crows sound amazing in a full theater but for some reason they just had a lot of echoing and you heard more the amplifier than their music. The biggest part was the Santana fans who had absolutely zero concert courtesy. They all were talking over everybody standing in front of everybody and just didn't care until Santana came out and then all the sudden it was like God arrived. Sorry I didn't want to sit around for two and a half hour guitar solo. The Crows deserve better.
Carlos and his team members are impressive particularly himself. Carlos plays the songs in such a relaxed manner. It’s simply phantastic. If I get another chance to attend a concert I will do it.
The only negative point is the overall organization at the North Island Amphitheatre particularly when it comes to handle the huge traffic. There is an enormous potential for improvement.
Janet and the crew were simply magical! The show and costumes were amazing this time around! The meet and greet lived up to what I had hoped it would be. On the other hand, getting to the venue, we were sent in so many directions of where to go for VIP lounge and what areas we could go and could not. Staff had sent us to different areas just to get in. I think any ticket showing VIP should be allowed in all at the same time. The running around made no sense. But due to the show Janet and her crew gave us, we had a blast
Lamb Of God...
A blasphemous prayer, yet careful what we wish for! Deliver us from this nightmare myth for eternity.. Indulge us with your symphonic echo throughout our blackened hearts and vacant minds for as long as we may see a glimpse of your light, welcoming the darkness, as no moon rises. Time slipping by..future painted black.
Your power speaks beyond the realms in which our imaginations can feel. Your bleeding heart and soul veins feed us in need and moves the others that witness the mass disgrace.. kerosene around.
Ascending, four in the morning, we wake up
dead.. you take our hand to walk with you in Hell!
I'm not the only one,

Anselmo was phenomenal!! His vocals are the best I’ve heard him sound in years. I felt like I time traveled to the 90s. He hit all the notes. The tribute to Dimebag and Vinnie was very touching and heart felt. Amazing show. If you get a chance to see these gods of thrash do not pass it up. You will not be disappointed.
Awesome concert. I wish they would have shown Zakk more on the video screens, too far back, up on the grass seats to see him on stage. Video guys kept flashing the video around, which totally sucks. Video guys failed big time. The sound guys did great! Lighting was good. there were too many flashing strobes, though, not a good place to be if you get seizures.
Amazing show! Bastille was great! Nile Rodgers & Chic were fantastic, especially the variety of music they performed! We were dancing to practically every song! But the home run of the night was definitely Duran Duran!!! From the moment the band stepped onto the stage, they captured our attention from beginning to end. Superb musicians, awesome vocals, engaging stage presence, phenomenal stage production... amazing show indeed! Definitely one for the books! Duran Duran forever! Duranies for life! 🎶
As always, Duran Duran rocks live and I love all their music.
This time, I have a couple of things that I found a bit disappointing:
1) The band played:
6 songs from their first album, 4 from their second, 1 from their third, 1 from their fourth, 2 from their 7th, 1 from their 8th, 1 from their last and a couple of singles. If you like all the other albums, it is a bit disappointing. I'm a huge fan of them and I love their latest music, which was completely ignored in this concert. As a big fan of their (completely absent) newer music, I wish they had play some.
2) Nile Rodgers over did it:
I was excited to see Nile Rodgers with Chic. However, I think he should have played 4-6 disco songs from Chic and leave it there. Instead, he was adamant to prove how famous he is by explaining several times that he produced Madonna, David Bowie and others and he decided he had to play covers of Like a virgin, Material Girl, Modern world and Let's dance. Frankly, I would have preferred to see more of Duran Duran instead. I had my kids with me, and they were tired before Duran even started.
Finally, I cannot avoid a rant about the venue: this amphitheater is nice once you make it, but driving from north San Diego at 6:00 is horrible, access to the venue is as bad as it gets, and you better be prepared to leave a bit early unless you can tolerate being stuck in the parking lot for over an hour on the way out. I really wish most bands would consider the SDSU Open Air theater instead. To add to this, they try really hard to charge you for every possible add on they can: VIP parking, easy exit parking (proving normal parking is a trap), skip the line, etc.
DB is my favorite country artist and I go to his show every time he's in San Diego. He was just as much fun this year and he played all my favorites. My only disappoint was that he didn't end with one of his songs but instead brought his Hot Country Nights group up to end the evening. Although they're fun I think it's better to have them play either before the show or maybe 1/2 way through.
Cheap Trick was great as always.
Really nice venue, comfortable, outdoors, nice sightlines, perfect sound, nice video/special effects, good food and drink available
BUT
only one road leads to the amphitheater so they tell you to arrive @ 4pm for a 730pm show, but the gates and concessions are not open so you sit in your car for hours.
parking is a nightmare,
exiting the place is a bigger nightmare
poor traffic control, they force you to drive miles north even if you need to go south or west
often you will spend more time exiting the parking lot and driving home than listening to music,
so I rarely go there, like almost never.
Made an exception for Cheap Trick and Rod Stewart.
The seats were amazing , the show was awesome . The one i have to say is that getting out the venue is a nightmare . They really need to be more organized when i directing traffic out the venue . Took one and half hours to get out , even sporting events are more organized.
The venue was so unorganized and so much information was confusing with the VIP and fast pass and North island card holders and where to stand and who is let in first. Just allow everyone in! Now as far as the show, Ludacris and Janet Jackson were incredible. Janet definitely left her mark on this industry and is the blueprint of how artists should have a show. It’s not always about the costume changes, stage changes and visuals. She commanded the stage from the second she stepped out there. Looking forward to her next era!
Amazing show per usual! 3rd time watching live 🤩 my 1st time at the venue. Got GA lawn tickets. Kinda far from stage but still was an amazing show. Oh, also the speakers in our section were off for the entire show. Not sure if that is normal, seems odd to have them and not use them.
The show was great, but the extras I paid for were ridiculous. VIP parking, and took an hour to get out. VIP lounge, was a complete waist of money to just be put in a back corner somewhere away from everything and had no extras to even make it worth the money.
These guys rocked so hard!!! It was my first time ever seeing them and they blew my mind! The energy they had, the respect they had for not only the crowd, but also the shout out to our military, law enforcement, and our fire fighters. They were engaged with the crowd the whole set, and had a few laughs too. It was awesome!
