"Bands in Town" - you idiots - the show was postpones because Jimmy is not well
Amazing performance, I forgot how awsome The Cruel Sea really are. More, more, more. Top venue as well.
Fantastic show from Steve at the beautiful Anita’s Theatre at Thirroul. A while after booking this he announced a show at the Enmore which was considerably closer for me. However, I already had decent seats and had not been to Anita’s Theatre so thought I would leave it as is. Great show with 2 hours of pure Vai (with a brilliant drum solo 2/3 of the way in) plus threw in one of the crew singing opera towards the end (great voice)…I actually fooled a few mates by posting a photo of said opera singer and saying Wolfgang Van Halen made a special appearance🤣. Band was very tight and they got the sound mix just about right. The appearance of the Beast later in the show was memorable. Vai by his own admission stuffed the start of one song and had to restart but at least he owned it and made up for it with an exceptional performance on the restart. Crowd were really into it and it was so great to see so many young fans (young teenagers and younger kids) at a show featuring one of the modern guitar greats. So glad I made the 1 1/2 hour trek to see the mighty Steve Vai.
Boom Crash Opera are my favourite live band. Not only does their music lift my soul, their playfulness on stage makes it clear that they're just having a ball up there, and we get to watch.
I wasn't so familiar with the support act, Bachelor Girl, but came away a fan too.
A great show.
Great to see after a quite a while away.
The live performance was Outstanding, fantastic, Incredible, Extraordinary-and loved every song the band preformed in the concert.
I gave the legends 10 out of 10.
The Richard Marx show @ ANITAS THEATRE THIRROUL was every bit the flawless intimate gig I knew it would be. On all accounts he definitely delivers. He writes, sings, produces and performs all of his songs and you can't get a more authentic connection to an artist than that. The 2023 Australian tour has been an incredible success with all his shows sold out nationally and it's abundantly clear that at 59 he shows no signs of slowing down. I absolutely adore the way He makes his audience feel a connection to his music, his family and his world with a genuine warmth you can't help but be drawn into as you go along on his musical journey with him. Richard Marx is the whole package and deserves every inch of the success he has dedicated a lifetime too. For me hearing him sing Angelia was a totally unforgettable experience I can't even articulate what it meant to me. Can't wait till he comes back.
Sad that these are the last few tours for the SunnyBoys.
Anita theatre at Thirroul is a fantastic venue for concerts being not too crowded with seating at the rear and the full front area free of seating and quite crowded but still very good.
We have seen the Sunnyboys numerous times over many years.
The last time at the Factory in Marrickville in July 2022. (Another excellent venue to see bands)
Jeremy Saxon Oxley the lead singer of the band is only 62 years old but I think he’s not really well hence the bands last tour. (We all need to retire eventually)
Love this band I’m the same age as Jeremy and have been going to their concerts since the late seventies early eighties.
Great music that will always be on my playlists
Denno and Jennie
This was a great band performance.... intimate, yet spectacular. No, no tricks nor acrobat stunts, just a band on stage yet mesmerising by her voice. Kate! you have a strong, yet delicate voice within you.
It was an intimate gig of sorts. Kate did address some of the queries/screams/fans that gathered at the front. That made the event more special, more real. It made my Vespa ride from Sydney to Thirroul that much more meaningful.
I will keep supporting this brilliant Australian talent, as much as I have since I first heard "Love Don't live here anymore" which captivated me ever since.
Kate, Keep it up!.... and thank you for a very memorable night.
Great venue! Great performance! Gosh all these years on and Colin Hay still has the most amazingly clear and resonant voice! What a set of pipes he has on him! Hitting those high notes gave me goosebumps. I loved the intimacy of the performance. Colin presented as very human to an audience predominately of a similar generation that could totally relate. He was relaxed and felt in a safe space with an audience that responded wholeheartedly to Colin's encouragement. A wonderful evening!
Such a talented man with a beautiful stage presence. Highly recommend seeing Xavier!
From the first song, which was strong and tight, I felt something special going down. Mark and the Undertow smashed out a bunch of their songs, from the past and the new album Slow Dawn? with a sprinkling of H & C classics. "The Wizard" up the back playing guitar, slide, trumpet, cornet and keyboards gave a complete sound reserved for a much bigger line up. Mark's final encore solo was earth moving. As he mentioned during the show, it was great to be out enjoying live music again. Arrrr... that would be YES! Anita Theatre @ Thirroul, what a brilliant venue. Get your tickets and have a great night!
Fantastic, I laughter the whole 2 hours, he is so good and so true in what he jokes about. Bought back memories.
Well what can I say - over thirty years since I last saw him live and he is one of the greatest songwriters, singers & entertainers of our time.
Paul Kelly and his band including Vika & Linda ripped the roof off Anita’s Theatre last night for over two hours of high powered, energetic performing.
Would recommend his shows highly and would not hesitate to go back again.
such an incredible show from jess that night, totally recommend go seeing her live!!!!
She was amazing, her performance was fantastic. The way she communicated with her fans and the love she has is beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It was awesome 1st time I have seen Ian miss in concert but him and Troy were awesome together.xx
Amazing, always great sound at Anita’s. Jon was sensational, amazing voice & in top form, light show was great, performed for over 2 hours well worth seeing, never disappoints.
These guys are amazing so talented and funny. They really enjoy what they do. Thank you
Impeccable voice & polished poise on stage intertwined with entertaining banter and backed by a tight band. Heard the Solitude Standing & 99.9F albums in full.
