Squeeze was great.
The downside was even with seats in the 7th row, so many stood the entire time with phones recording instead of truly enjoying the moment. Made it difficult to see the band most of the time with all the phone screens prominently in the way.
Great musician, but the acustic in this venue is not great and cost of the tickets are outragious for Ravinia. The lawn was almost empty and it's sad since I am sure a lot more poeple could've enjoyed the concert
Paul was best with the least accompaniment from his band. His voice is remarkable for an 83 year-old singer.
Ravinia is a terrible venue and the “improvements” have not helped. It is difficult to get to the park, into the park, around the park once inside.
KGATLW at Ravinia is like inviting your really smart engineer friend who’s really into acid and mushrooms round to meet your grandparents for Sunday dinner
Irakere 50 with Chucho Valdez, Paquito d'Rivera and Arturo Sandoval was incredible. I've been following Irakere and its band members since 1975, and it was amazing to hear their original songs again. Was thrilled to see Horacio Hernandez on drums! Ravinia is one of our favorite venues for performances. They moved this event indoors, which was fine, but the audio engineer's job of mixing the band was mediocre at best. Still a wonderful experience!
This show was even better than expected! My first trip to Ravinia was exceptional. From the terrific venue to the performance it was pure pleasure! Ms Sterling was terrific and when paired with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra the pleasure was more than could be anticipated. Great Show and Venue!
Fulfilled another of my "bucket list" concerts. George Benson and his band delivered a classy, polished show. The FOH mix was very good, albeit a little "bassy". Benson's vocals started out a bit low in the mix, but improved throughout the performance. Really enjoyed Lilliana de los Reyes! Gorgeous voice and excellent percussionist. Our first time at Ravinia, and it won't be our last. Great venue!
Late as always, but once she started, it was a good show. My advice is for future shows, she can use DJ earlier to keep everybody dancing and happy before she got on stage. Give us an hour of DJ set or just different juke box music playing before she came on set.
I regret I could not attend the Lizz Wright tribute to Ramsey Lewis last evening. Ms. Wright is now my favorite vocalist. I hope to see her at Ravinia in the near future.
It was good, not great, because the main band, collective soul, didn’t really play many songs . Maybe they should’ve played their first three albums instead, when they were really good, had a better lead guitarist and weren’t so full of pretension . Better than Ezra was pretty good , haven’t seen them in 15 years. Tonic, I always enjoy and they did well.
