Lincoln Theatre

This show was outdoors in a park in Falls Church, VA, not indoors at the Lincoln Theatre, on a very pleasant Saturday late afternoon. There was a good crowd, but it was well spread out so that even standing at the front of the stage I never felt crowded. The music was as good as ever, and I've seen George many times at festivals and clubs. He brought out some new tunes from a forthcoming instrumental album, and they demonstrated that he and the band are more than funk players. The Running Pardners are all very good musicians, and they can get jazzy and wail away on top of interesting changes. They also brought back old numbers dating back to his Meters days, and they still sound fresh with some new twists.

The Lincoln Theatre only holds about 1200ish people and it was strange to see everyone sitting in their seats while Matthew Sweet played his Classics. He was great and I’m glad he’s touring again.

Fever Dog opened for Wolfmother and let me tell you, they were incredible. Channeling all the great hair rock bands from the 70s and 80s—music, attitude, and style. Don’t pass them up if you have a chance to see them! Would give them 6 stars if I could.

Wolfmother is always super entertaining. They played so many of their classic songs, some good newer ones. They even covered Led Zeppelin in the encore, which I’ve never heard them do. I love him. I purchased 7 tickets as a gift to bring my family to a show that was rescheduled. I went October 6 to Washington, DC only find that the location had been chAnger to the Lincoln theater. Paid for 2 garages and never made it to the show. Ticketmaster showed the old location and still refused to refund me or offer a credit. This is unworthy treatment of loyal customers. Still love Zach. Just disappointed. Given Zach the rating

men i trust was absolutely amazing, my second time seeing them but this time the crowd was absolutely awful. very few people were genuinely enjoying themselves and what disappointed me most was the fact that everyone was SITTING during the whole show. i didn’t hear anyone singing along or even a head bob the dryest crowd ever. emma deserved better than that and i can’t stand crowds nowadays.

This will go down as one of the most memorable shows I've ever been to. He's still got it. Perfection in every sense of the word. Portnoy was cool too 🤣

Colbie and her band have a great show! She performed her entire Coco album, a few fan favs, and new stuff!! This is my fourth time seeing her in concert and she’s such a joy! Great concert!

This was another amazing performance from Colbie. She played all the songs from “Coco” and entertained the audience with stories. She included songs from other albums and have a sneak peek into music coming in 2023. It was a great evening of fun!!

I was very skeptical with the venue location since it was theatre seating, but it worked. Barns was stunning, so full of energy and had the crowd on our feet the entire show hoping for an encore. Anytime he is in my area I will absolutely attend his shows again.

Ian's voice is scratchy and he's not able to hit every note, but he put forth a tremendous effort and at times you could imagine the Mac of 1981. Will on the other hand was fantastic and the backing band was great, too, even if Pete DeFreitas and Les Pattinson could never be replaced. Three encores of one song each with long waits between each was kind of strange, but I was happy to cheer for long periods for a band that's brought me great joy for over 4 decades.

I really have enjoyed listening to Aurora on YouTube and had fairly high expectations for the show. She seemed tired (end of the tour) and it just didn't have the energy level I was hoping for. Was kinda bored in the beginning. I think she was ready to end the tour and just wanted to get through the set. I'm glad I went but was a little disappointed. I doubt I would go see her again.

The boys rocked DC again ! So great to see them live again. These boys work their butts off every show. A must see live show !

This was my second time seeing Johnnyswim and they didn't disappoint. Matter of fact this concert was even better than when I saw them last February. The stage lighting truly added to the experience and made the songs even more captivating than they already are. I would see Johnnyswim again in a heart beat. Can't wait for their next tour!

I just saw Imogen Heap at the Lincoln Theater in D.C.! It was an amazing show. I went to both nights (same set list). She did a neat thing and took questions between songs from a roaming employee with a microphone. Very neat to hear what she had to say on a lot of topics instead of self-generated ‘between song banter’. She has a beautiful posh London accent which made it a little harder to hear what she was saying. Got to check out the Burning Man event ‘Cartharsis’ After the show last night -glad I went as it’s rainy tonight. Fantastic 2 shows!!!

Great show - would have preferred more oldies but J began with two so no complaints. Band and vocalists were so good. J seemed frail but he delivered! Grateful for a DC stop on the tour.

Very cool how 'intimate' the show was with the storytelling, the smaller venue and just the two of them on stage. After going to several of his concerts over many years (decades. Last one 2013), this was a sweet little change up and almost seems to have been created just for his longtime, diehard fans. That would be my best girlfriends and I - total Idolizers! We started seeing him about 37 years ago together and were together for this one, too!!! Billy Idol's vocals are still as kick-ass as they were the very first time we heard him! And Steve Stevens? Just sick! Oh, and he told his own story on stage, too! So funny! They were freaking incredible! Rad af, entertaining storytelling (some will get ya right in the ticker) and just an all around killer show! My besties and I are hoping to see them in October.

Incredible, gifted artists creatively creating incredible music. Kamasai Washington demonstrates amazing leadership in attracting gifted artists providing a plan based on his compositions then allowing each to add their own creative influence on the musical tapestry. The result was a complex, multi-level and complexly woven aural landscape, rich and beautiful in its complexity, joyous in its adminstration. The concept of "sheets of sounds" associated with the great Coltrane becomes "waterfalls of sounds" in Washington's hands. The freedom experienced in his music and his leadership of the band reminds me of the experience of a Sun Ra concert. I cannot wait until he returns. I eagerly await his new musical explorations. A great man making great music

This was my second time seeing Hozier perform, and honestly, I don't even have the words to express what I feel when he is singing. He is anazing See him if you can!

I just saw Amos Lee at the Lincoln Theater in D.C.. Man this guy just oozes talent! He seems so comfortable on stage and just lets the talent out, he’s got so much soul that I felt like I was at a gospel revival. Seven musicians on stage and along with the usual equipment, a slide steel guitar, a mandolin and two keyboardists. I felt hints of Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan and Damien Rice as he guided us through 2 hours of a great performance. Caitlin somebody opened and was a fantastic prelude. She is 7 months pregnant.
