Have seen Dweezil do Zappa Plays Zappa six times ! First when he and his bandmates opened for Jeff Beck at The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles . Up to last nights performance at The Orpheum Theater . I can honestly say he gets better each time . He always surrounds himself with the most talented people . I especially loved that he had Sheila back in the line up ! She as He are truly phenomenal ! I had the privilege of first seeing Frank Zappa himself for the first time in 1973 at The Ms Cale center at the U A In Tucson Arizona . It was The Overnight Sensation Album . James Montgomery Band opened , followed by Focus and then Mr. Frank Zappa ! So blessed to have been able to witness that particular concert . Saw Frank five times before his passing . Saw Dweezil in Hollywood when celebrated what would have been his father’s 79th Birthday ! Also at The To Rose Pasadena , The Saban Beverly Hills , The Coach House San Juan Capistrano , The Roxy Hollywood ! Love you and Thank you for keeping the flame going and Honoring your father’s Legacy ! Question ; do you know about Screaming Willie ? Would love to hear about that . Thanks Stephen Laguna …
This was a terrific show. All three guitarists were amazing and entertaining. Highly recommend seeing each of them when they are in your town. STEVE VAI, JOE SATRIANI & ERIC JOUHNSON. A+
Really great show EXCEPT two of CAIN’s truck drivers/roadies sat in empty seats behind our front row box seats and made rude, snide comments about us, Californians, etc. Pretty unbelievable given our ticket purchase probably pays their salary. SO unprofessional and will make me rethink another CAIN concert. 👎🏻
Nick Cave is a massive talent Great songs, lyrics are out of this world. He came out with a well tailored suit and tie. Looked like he shopped next door at Paul Smith. Seriously one of the best shows. So good we went twice.
Saw them at the Hollywood Bowl last year but seeing them at the Orpheum was like being invited into their living room! Besides being an Assembly Line, they each can hold their own as individuals.
I LOVE the Orpheum. I LOVE Kansas.
Althought there were only two long term / original members, they sounded like Kansas!
The singing was excellent! The musicianship even better. The keyboard player was awesome. The violinist was incredible!
Their sound was as good as any version of Kansas.
One of the best concerts I have ever attended. Irglová and Glen Hansard were amazing. They played old and new songs and the concert went on for two hours. Since it was the last stop on the tour, and they were in Los Angeles, many guest artists joined them on stage. FANTASTIC. What a treat.
Tauren Wells is a gifted singer and song writer. His love for the Lord is undeniable. Through his Singing Dancing and Preaching Tauren is being used by the Lord to touch many lives and to open the eyes of those that walk in darkness. When the enemy is attacking simply play one of his songs and sing along. God is so good to us all. “KNOWN” is my favorite. It has a special meaning to me and my Family. Keep doing what you are doing my Brother in Christ. Can’t wait to see and hear you again. 🙏🏽✌🏼❤️
Never in my life have I been so moved, emotionally, physically and Spritualy by any show!! It was as though each breath, word, note was there for me! The entire show was not only a musical experience but an all-encompassing spiritual enlightenment! When Einar spoke, I truly wished he would just continue! Every word was heartfelt and meaningful! I wished the night hadn't ended! And I cannot wait for the next time we will be honored by Wardruna, I will be 1st in line for tickets!
This was a bucket list show and the Boys didn’t disappoint! Great show, the music was tight, and they were great for the small venue they played in Morro Bay!
Go see Los Straitjackets - you won’t regret it.
She is a true woman of worship and delivers life changing performances through God’s word. I would definitely recommend it. If you enjoy worshiping The Lord with the body of Christ, this is one of the many places for it. God is good!
Wouldn't be Pavement if it wasn't a little shambolic but mostly brilliant. Early tour (this was only their second night) led to some misfires, and the vibe between the "hype man" (don't know his name, not gonna look it up) and the band seemed a little tense. No one could understand what he kept yelling in the mic, and he yelled a lot. Malkmus said almost nothing. The visuals were non-evolving and kinda crude, but overall the crowd loved it. I loved turning back to the faces behind me, everyone smiling and swaying. It's great to see a new generation appreciating the band as much as I did back in the 90's. Go, Pavement.
Ryan is a brilliant, prolific artist, vocally & lyrically, & as a musician. Love this guy, & am so grateful to have seen him live (again!). He played straight thru for over 3 hrs, but honestly you can never get enough Ryan. What a fantastic show!
Joe Jackson is one of those artists that you never tire of hearing. He pulls from such a diverse catalog of music that there are all ways gems in every set. In LA the other night he spoke about how he loved the Orpheum theater and how it's history of Vaudeville influenced England's music. He played the song from the only movie he's ever starred in as a piano player in the early 1900's."The greatest game ever played" and the song was "Hello, Hello, Who's your lady friend" It was brilliant !The band he tours with is just fantastic. Solid all the way around.I don't know how much longer Joe will tour, but I'll be at every one when he comes to LA. He's a class act !
They were so great! Jim Kerr was incredible, dancing all over the stage - actually more than the audience (sadly), except for me LOL And his voice was as good as it's ever been. My (much younger) friend wasn't sure he would know most of their songs, except for "Don't You (Forget About Me)" but with each song they did, he was like "Oh, wow! I didn't know they did this song too!". I definitely will see them again and again.
Hands down one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Not only are they incredible artists live, they are even better people. Every single person on their team was fantastic, kind and played a part in such a great atmosphere and experience. Sound was amazing, set up was great, energy was electric, their love for their craft, performing and their fans was evident and infectious. Seeing Johnnyswim in one of the best and intimate venues was so special. Having it be a dream come true for our daughter and night we will never forget is such a gift.
Seeing Bruce in this format away from the Iron Maiden stage was interesting and gave you a glimpse into his personal side. It was the next best thing to being on one of his Bruce Air flights years ago. While Bruce's delivery at the start of the show seemed a little awkward (getting a feel for the audience?), things got better as the show progressed, especially in answering the audience questions.
As always, Shawn Colvin was amazing. Playing solo on that stage, just she and her guitar(s) is a lesson in how powerful music can be in its purest form. And it doesn't hurt that she's a master songwriter and performer and I'd die to play a guitar the way she does. (And I've tried.) At one point she said she was a little rusty from downtime during the pandemic, but honestly, she was just pure gold.
In Los Angeles there was a “no cell phone” experience that really created a close and intimate environment. There were times I felt like my close friends were reading pages from their diary in their bedroom instead of me being at a concert.
I have not seen Rufus. So happy and really seem to be enjoying himself in years. His band rocked and his voice guitar playing and piano playing were impeccable. He seemed liked “the boy” who toured poses decades ago. His singing /lyrics of I’m so tired of you America was almost understated than when he wrote it in the GW years. His cover of Joni Mitchell s Both sides now was trance ndent The hair. The costumes he will be remembered. Oh and geek me is so excited that Mitchell groom (producer of then wife’s Blood makes noise “. Should show us new sides of Rufus. PLEASE MAKE YOU CD OF CANADIAN-ARTISTS AVAIL FOR ALL. I LOVE YOU Rufus
