Musical Instrument Museum

This young lady has quite the career ahead of her. She is fastracking at warp speed. We saw her last year in Wickenburg AZ. Cameras were allowed. I had a field day... 2nd row center. She greets attendees after the show. She is a riot to talk with. She's as beautiful as her voice and easy to chat with. If your a lover of yesteryear music. You will love her concert

The show at MIM was incredible. Bruce played all his best songs - going way back - all acoustically. He did a 40 min set. Took a break and then did a second 40 min set. I grew up in Canada listening to ALL of his music from the 70s through the 80s into the 90s and was just totally mesmerized at how great a performer he remains - just like he was on all his records 😁. A truly classic Canadian musician!!!

AP was so much fun tonight!! Love the new tunes!! The band was extremely double secret probation tight. May be a preference thing but would have loved to had vocal more out in front when it was present. Loved seeing all three musicians dedicated to serving each song uniquely with their instrument and their vocal. That venue is unreal!!

Dominique is unique. Superb voice enhanced by loop backs. Solid backing band with a drummer who carried and varied the beat as Dominique moved across songs. What raises Dominique into the top ranks as a live performer is her stunning visual appearance. She sat cross-legged on a platform and sang with power. Watching her hands move so expressively and gracefully and how she let her eyes open and close were the coup de gras. The MIM was the perfect venue. It’s sound and clean sight lines were ideal.

Don McLean and the backing musicians were excellent- this was an extremely good show, and more than worth our two-hour drive. Don himself was personable, and his choice of songs (from his huge repertoire) was great. We got 90 minutes of pure Don McLean, with no intermission and no breaks while other musicians soloed or jammed; he gives a great performance. The venue was very good, though the sound-balancing was not. There were many songs when the lyrics were difficult-to-impossible to hear because one of the guitars was so loud. Given that lyrics are what Don McLean is probably most famous for, that was a shame.

AJ Croce is a terrific and talented Artist. I was 13 when his Dad Jim passed in 1973. I think I was a Freshman in High School and remembered crying that morning when I heard on the radio of Jim'ss plane crash that morning. I had played his records all the time. What at a huge, sad loss to the music industry. Hearing AJ play in the Acoustically superior MIM in Scottsdale AZ was amazing! He played some of his Dad's beloved songs which were great to hear. Even more surprising, having never hear AJ's musical ability and songs till the other night---they were all wonderful! His Piano and Guitar work were top notch. Will definitely go see him again and look forward to more concerts at the Musical Instrument Museum!

Amazing. I’m autistic and don’t see a ton of live events because it can take a lot out of me, but I would absolutely see Storm Large again anytime, over and over. My parents have seen her a bunch and think she’s wonderful, and now I know why. She’s so worth it. I have my 16 year old son singing “8 miles wide” now too, so maybe I’ll bring him along the next time I see her. She’s such a gifted artist and all around enchanting human being.

LAST NIGHT I FOUND MYSELF at the first concert I have been to in 28 years. I was, quite literally, front row center! If I was any closer to the stage, I would have been playing a guitar. And this was at the magnificent Musical Instrument Museum in Scottsdale. The second time I have been there in 3 days. THE HANDSOME FAMILY. One of my favorite bands for many years. Mellow music. Killer lyrics. During their set they played a favorite song that I seem to always sing whenever I am shopping at Costco, walking up and down the aisles. "Late, late at night. 24 hour store. Ghosts fly up the aisles, across the shining floor Opening and closing automatic doors..." I know the other Costco shoppers like it because they always stare at me, speechless and dumbfounded... So much stuff in this country is going wrong right now. We all need to stop and find some stuff that is going right. The Musical Instrument Museum is a good place to run away to and hide. Especially front row center...

Not sure why it won’t show a full 5-star rating. But it was great to see and hear David Cook and band in person again! Always a delight. The music was great and David engaging as usual. Entertaining performance. The MIM has such great acoustics and love the more intimate venue. It’s been 5 years since David last played at the MIM (pre-covid) so it’s been a long time coming. So happy to see this partnership continue. David Cook and the MIM! See you next time!

Mike is so talented, he's inspiring a new crop of acoustic guitar players, his shows are fun, and he's a great story teller. Mike is a really nice guy, very down to earth and happy to sign autographs & take photos. MIM is a beautiful venue, just the right size, easy to get to, easy to park, prices are very reasonable.

*** Six Stars if I could! *** This is an amazing venue and Molly and her band certainly rose to the occassion! They are all fantastic musicians and also seemed to be really enjoing themselves. The sound was awesome, as usual, but at times I felt that the instrument mix overpowered the vocals. They did an awesome mix of ...eclectic songs with a bluegrass spin, traditionals, and originals. The harmonies were spectacular and the picking was phenomenal. Molly came out front for a few songs and told a charming story about her first guitar. I am super-excited and now I feel very priviliged to be going to see her again! Truly a VSP delivered with a ton of heart by a master songstress and player.

AHHHHHHHHHH Hunter Hayes was absolute AMAZING!!!! The best concert I've ever been too!!!!! He is literally so talented! He performed all the music live and created it right in front of us. He interacted with the audience and was hilarious! It was literally like sitting in a studio session. Hunter Hayes is so incredibly talented and I hope to be able to see him again!!!!

One of the most incredible concert experiences I’ve ever had. Suzy Bogguss and Kathy Mattea were excellent performers with warm, rich harmonies and poignant lyrics which kept the audience enraptured. I got to sing “ Someday Soon” WITH Suzy (front row seat) and she HEARD ME! ( I was standing up) She LIKED IT! That’s not something you get to do every concert. I loved them both before as performers. After this experience, I love them both as PEOPLE. Don’t miss this spirit lifting duo if you get the chance!

Jon McLaughlin is the real deal - he is. one of the most talented musicians of our time with a flawless voice to back it up. The encore was an experience I didn’t know I was missing. I was hoping for “So Close” but I feel like “Changing” was far better. If you aren’t familiar, look it up on YouTube and you will see what I mean! I just love everything about last night’s show. I’m now shopping for a piano with hopes to learn some of his songs. ❤️. Can’t wait for his next visit to the MIM!

I'd planned on taking my wife Kris after what was hoped to be a successful series of cancer treatments in Atlanta over 3 months. Sadly, they were not successful and she passed early in the morning on the 12th of May. Around midnight that night, when all the friends had left and I was in our home alone, I opened my computer to respond to numerous e-mails and FB messages. There was the reminder. The MIM has been a special place to us (though we live in Tucson almost 2 hours away) and Bruce has been one of our few agreed upon, beloved musicians! I got the ticket.(I somehow feel that my sweetheart had a hand in this!) I went to the concert and it was perfect in every way! He played a number of old, rather obscure songs (Falling Dark, Let Us Go Laughing, Arrows of Light) as well as some more known selections (Wondering Where the Lions Are, Pacing the Cage) and some beautiful new compositions. Always with a story about the circumstances surrounding the writing of a song. It was a very healing night for me and I'll forever be grateful for Bruce's musicianship, poetry and his presence. Plus, I've met him on a number of occasions and he's always been a very gracious man. Thank you Bruce. Your music continues to be a healing force in my life! Blessings.

Such a great show. The MIM was the perfect place to see Ron Pope. His opening act was awesome, and his show was amazing. He is the best singer/songwriter, my absolute favorite, and his acoustic music was perfect in the venue. He is funny and a great storyteller. Worth the 5 hour drive from California to see him. We will definitely be at another show soon!!!!

Matthew Whitaker was phenomenal, his talent and his musical 🎼 skills is just beyond words. He is on the top of our list to follow and see when he comes back to Phoenix, would not dare miss him play. And if you get a chance to see him at the MIM, even better, the acoustics are incredible and the small venue makes for a more intimate setting.

The band was amazing! Brandy’s storytelling fills your heart with memories, pleasure, longing, empowerment and joy! A sweet voice and humble heart she shares with all who enjoy her presence. Such great talent! If you haven’t heard her name, I can assure you have enjoyed her songs. I had been wanting to enjoy her live for years and truly a bucket list item checked off!! ✅ My heart is FULL. :)

Bought tickets as part of Christmas gifts for my family. It was well worth the wait! Paper Wings opened and they were absolutely awesome...great opener choice. Then Avi & his band mates came out and put on a great concert. I have followed Avi with my kiddos since his Pentatonix days and he is a great artist. He has a voice with resounding soul that just resonates to your core. The venue location was perfect as well. The acoustics at Musical Instrument Museum concert hall were absolutely astonishing! All around great concert & we’re all looking forward to seeing Avi again in The Valley. Thank you Paper Wings & Avi Kaplan and band mates for providing us with some wonderful family memories!

One of the best performances I have seen all year and I have seen a lot of performances. His band is fabulous and his voice is so amazing. Thankfully he had time to share some stories with the crowd. One of the best singer songwriters of our time. If you have never seen him you should make it a point to catch him the next time he is in the Valley.
