State Theatre

The State Theater itself is a moderate sized venue for a rock concert, and it’s beautifully designed and maintained, so I felt it was a great place to enjoy the Frampton show. Peter Frampton himself is a gifted guitarist and vocalist, now nominated for the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame. Since his introduction to fame in the ‘70’s with “Frampton Comes Alive,” he’s been making music, performing and recording ever since. So- last night’s show—AMAZING!!! Not only was Peter just phenomenal, along with his fabulous band, including his band leader, Rob Arthur, from Minneapolis!!!!! But Peter was so incredibly intimate with his stories including photos from his family, his past, and many very funny moments with the audience. He played for almost three hours and the show grew in momentum with every song. When you thought it couldn’t get any better it just rose above the top and the crowd just exploded. All I can say is it’s a night I will never EVER forget! Thank you, Mr. Frampton.

It was a privilege to finally see Peter Frampton perform live - his (and Humble Pie’s) music was the soundtrack to my life for a few years. His voice is exactly the same as in the 70s, and he plays just as well as he did then. Peter was having a great time and the rest of us couldn’t help but do the same.

My friends and I were treated to a voice that has no equal. If you enjoy Loreena’s Music don’t hesitate to come to one of her concerts. She might have few musicians on stage with her but, the quality is not sacrificed at all. The pureness of her voice. Is an instrument all its own. Thank you, Loreena, Brian, Caroline,Hugh, and Dudley. If you go, you will be treated to wonderful stories and learn about the Celts.

Amazing show, as always with the Mavericks! Love seeing them at the State Theatre. Wasn't a fan of the row of chairs in front of Row 1, and the inability to use that space for dancing, like at their last show here.

Amazing! He still has it at 79!! We have seen Boz and his band over 10+ times and this was perhaps the best sounding arrangement of musicians we have seen. The band was tight & responsive, & sounded great. Loved the new saxophone, keyboardist, etc.. from Minneapolis!! He was terrific & really added a new dimension to a number of Boz classics. Thank you Boz!!! 💖

The show was excellent. Music was great, voices were in fine tune. They played all of there best songs and were great on stage and with the audience. I have wanted to see them for a long time and am extremely glad I had the chance. Will definitely go the next time they come through town. I took my 30 something sons along and they were very pleasantly surprised by what a good show they put on. A+ in my book!

First off: The State is a beautiful old venue, just a wonderfully intimate space for a performance by a favorite artist. As for the artist, I’ve been a fan for better than 35 years. They and their audience have both gotten a touch older, but they’re still making great, melodic music and they still have the ability to put on a captivating show. (To be sure, the addition of Neil Finn’s sons to the lineup has injected a bit of youthful vibrancy.) The musicianship and onstage wit are still there, and Neil’s voice still holds up. If you love the band, you won’t be disappointed; if you only know them for that old “hey now” song, seeing them in concert might well be enough to spark your interest for a deeper dive into the discography.

Aw Shucks. Last time I saw Soul Asylum was 28 years ago when they were a hit-making machine. Fast forward to last night at the beautiful State Theatre in Minneapolis. The middle aged crowd were whooping and singing along with just about every song the new asylum threw at ‘em. Pirner left Hollywood, his Breakfast Club squeeze and most of his original band long behind. I’m not with anybody’s personal status. but the band was unexpectedly outstanding for what was billed as an “acoustic” performance. I thought we might see Dave Pirner on a piano stool,, a single mic on a stand, 6-string bent over his knee. Aw Shucks. It wasn’t to be. It was def not accoustic, and if so, then let’s see Pirner and his mates rocking whatever it is on your feet clean off! My grade for the performance? I give them a solid 3.89!

The State theater is an excellent venue. A li vely and loyale crowd was exuberantly treated to the best Toto had to offer. The sound was fantastic. And the set list was unexpected, yet a real treat for the long time fans of the band. As for the current members, each player best represents the well documented level of talent the band has been known for. This includes the vocalists. The current drummer, former Snarky Puppy member Robert Sput Searight does an incredible job in the absence of the few legendary drummers the have gone before him.

The most treacherous 20 hour drive in the snow of my lifetime. 100 percent worth every white knuckled grip of the 1,300 miles. Such a beautiful set, so much emotion. They played every song i wanted and ended with the most beautiful acoustic, no microphone ballad I will ever hear. Thank you sir and ma'am. You filled this heart.

Spectacular solo show, amazing performance and incredible set list of 35 beautiful songs. Ryan Adams is at the best of his career, his voice is better than ever, his guitar and piano sound perfect and he is charming and fun. Unforgettable night, worth the travel from Madrid no doubt!!

All in all a good time- comedy was fun, I realize that standup may not be my thing but the energy was amazing and overall I had fun. My only main complaint is that when I initially bought tickets it said masks were required but when I got there they were not. With Covid cases still very consistent here in the twin cities I was a bit uncomfortable. Heavily recommend getting tested after the five day mark. Great job overall to everyone who out this show together though, it was definitely put together with love.

Always a wonderful time when Amy comes to town! A wonderful selection of songs, though I could listen to any song she has ever recorded and be entertained. I enjoy the stories she tells between some of the songs. Some funny, some touching. I hope she comes back soon.

I went to see The Script just for Calum Scott, and even they knew he was much better than they were. His voice is phenomenal, so raw with emotion. The kicker for me is how humble he has always been and remains despite his huge success (in other countries. WHY not in the US???) He was genuinely moved when he got several standing ovations, and tears flowed more than once. Even the people there solely for The Script were captivated and attentive, and blown away. Look up his videos online. You will be an instant fan!

Phenomenal performance! I still just can't understand why Calum hasn't cracked the US radio market. Besides his fantastic voice he is an amazingly humble human being, and a role model. I cannot wait until he is back here headlining. I will be the first in line!

Such a great show. I was so happy to see that Chan was recovered enough to be singing. A lot of fun surprises! We've been going to this event since the beginning and it means so much to be a part of the celebration.

I honestly really enjoyed my time at their concert. I do have to say it was my first ever concert and I was so happy with the outcome. The venue was nice and while waiting in line for a t-shirt after the show the man watching the line was friendly and stopped to talk to us multiple times. I attended with my Dad and he enjoyed the concert saying it’s one of the better concerts he’s been to. I really have to say I am so glad I went

I loved it!! It was a really great show with great music!! Kris Allen, keep making music. Your voice is so good. I love all your songs!! Can't wait to see more of the Idols in their concerts!! All of you guys are really good.

What a great venue...The State (capacity 2100) was completely sold out ,and Ian didn't disappoint...Past members introduced the songs on a video screen behind the band...(the one negative for me, the hanging speakers partially obstructed my view of the screen) ... Ian's voice isn't what it was but at 73 I thought he did fine...Wish that Martin was still around but....the concert and venue get a solid 4 1/2 out of 5 go see its!!! thanks Jethro Tull...hope to see you next year!!!
