This was the second time I saw the band and also at Groove. I enjoyed the show last year as well as this year. The biggest improvement was the venue management. He was giving the band a hard time after the show last year, but that manager was no longer with Groove this year!!! We sat up front near Eric and the sound was perfect. Nothing distorted by volume. The food and drinks were top notch. Their merch guy, Tony, raves about the pizza place across the street. If you want a good night of Chicago blues-tinged rock, this is the band to see and likely the best place in NYC to see them. This is a band that plays as good live as they do on their albums. Not trickery or phoning it in here. These guys bleed for their craft and deserve the support and recognition reserved for their legendary influences!
Squeaky Feet delivered an absolutely phenomenal performance. Best touring progressive rock band currently!
Amazing show! So glad we got introduced to them at Bonnaroo!! Can't wait to see them in the NY area again.
Absolutely brilliant 🎶❤️🎶
INCREDIBLE! Go see this man for your own sake!!!
Cordovas rocked, as always!! Saddle great too. So much fun. Groove is an old school style small village venue with great service. Perfection. Like the good old days!
The Groove is a smaller venue with a very small stage. They didn't allow Joe to use his drum kit, just his snare and cymbals. The toms and bass drum were house equipment as were (at least some) of the amps. Despite these handicaps, the band played an amazing set. There were no tapes, laptops, and click tracks. The band is super tight and they don't phone it in. While there were only about 30 people in the place, they played as if it was a packed house. They played what was close to a greatest hits set and threw in 2 covers. The first was Sway, which is a nod to The Rolling Stones who were also playing in the area that night. The second was Positively 4th by Bob Dylan. While they were rushed out by the Groove management because another artist was coming in, they managed to maintain composure getting their gear stored back in their van while navigating the narrows between the tables and bar. Very friendly and humble guys. If you ever get a chance to see them, please do. You won't be disappointed. On a different note, the food and drink at the venue were very good. The service could've been a little more attentive, but was otherwise fine.
Intimate show. Tinsley playing some deep blues songs and sharing stories.
