Unusally strict security at The State Theatre prevented people from dancing. They also turned on the house lights before the final encore, so we didn't get to enjoy Goodbye Tiger this year. The show was fantastic, however. Richard and his band never disappoint.
Backed by a his talented band, Matteo Bocelli performs his songbook of love ballads, Italian and English as well as classical operatic solos. On piano and on guitar he displays versatility and a beautiful tenor voice as well as a true songwriting skill. Come back soon Matteo, Sydney loves you!
It was bliss - too short 🤣.We loved every second of it . Matteo himself (second time we have attended ) was delightful .I didn’t know all the more modern ones but loved them instantly . The lights were fantastic and the band was excellent .A top night - too short !! 🎶🎶🤣💖💖
What an incredibly happy and uplifting show! We all felt fantastic and were smiling when it was over.
Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the matinee session. So glad to have met some of the FFs when we were in Port Isaac in July and found out they were coming to Sydney coinciding with the Ashes Tour! Next time we might see them perform at the Sydney Opera House, as they mentioned they hope to one day!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the show and really hope to see them again either in Sydney or Port Isaac!!!
Great performance and show from the group and band. Absolutely love the interaction between the band members and the crowd. Throws in some great hits and we have an evening to remember. Definitely looking forward to them coming back.
The Crowded House are the legends of music, the concert a blend of classic hits with new material, and showcasing the band’s enduring chemistry and stage presence.
Great gig with a mix of old favourites and new releases. Majestic venue. 3 generations, with at least 8 of the extended Barnes clan on stage at one time.
Jimmy keeps working with great collaborators and coming up with fantastic new material.
The BEST NIGHT EVER 👏🏿🎇🎉 Especially sitting 4 rows from the stage when jimmy Barnes came over my way a few time then he looked at me few times & Pointed his Finger at Me "I'm like he remember me" from his Book signing "WORKING CLASS BOY" 9yrs ago, then the Drummer his Son Jackie Barnes come over & gave me his Drum Stick, that top the Night off for Me, I'll Never forget this.
Missy Higgins is one of Australia’s greatest artists. I was lucky enough to see her live 20 years ago and again on the 31st July 2024. She has grown in confidence so much making the show feel so relaxed and intimate…though the theatre was a sell out.
Missy and her band put on an amazing show. The lighting, stage and sound crew did a fantastic job and as always Missy's vocals were perfection. I think Missy is Australias best ever singer songwriter and her interaction with the audience between songs was pure entertainment. Missy's songs are mainly written based on her life experiences wearing her heart on her sleeve. Missy is the complete package with 20 years of relatable songs that don't age. Looking forward to the new album release and many more hit songs in the future.
He was spectacular. Had some crowd interactions and was fooling everyone by saying he was going to play Caledonia. He has such a soulful voice. Some of the songs were a bit different either He changed the background music or he did am acoustic version. Drink and food prices were crazy high. The seats in the dress circle rows a and b, seats 24,25 and 26 were amazing views as he was right infront of your eyes. Overall it was a great venue. Had a sensational view and the sound was superb.
Ab fab guys.thankyou so much for my tickets.i had given up trying to get them .you really are wonderful.ths show was great at the state theatre.so happy .paul ray 0448623399...thankyou once again you made my day..!
Absolutely brilliant show. Sound was fantastic and Richard delivered an amazing performance of vocals, energy and song set list. Dandelion Head was also outstanding. His original song with Richard and the band was a highlight as their voices blend so well.
Human Nature always knows how to entertain there audiences. It was such a great show and I sang along to all of their songs. Bella Taylor sang with them and she was awesome.
Fantastic. All the hits and so glad I got to see this legend which I missed back my my heyday! The hippie set was great fun and the classics were classical! He lets his band shine and of all the Aussie gigs I’ve seen they are the best guitarists, drummer and keyboardist around. Great night. Groovy baby.
What an amazing heartfelt night with a beautiful band. Just can’t wait for when we can all dance again at shows! Thank you Boy & Bear, and State Theatre
An amazing show with the lovely Anna O'Byrne! I was only let down in that they didn't sing the phantom of the Opera theme song but apart from that, not a single fault could be found :)
