Sydney Opera House

My second show with The Cat Empire and really enjoyable. They played songs mostly from their newer albums although they did play shoes. I prefer the older albums but I still like the newer ones. I also enjoyed hearing the new song “ballet” featuring Felix’s talented daughter. I will God willingly definitely go to another concert if there is one.

Iconic venue - brilliant front row seats which still got great sound. We’ve seen DSE twice before, in our home town of Adelaide, so we were a bit disappointed they didn’t return. Cocncert was sensational with Terence Reis and Chris White at the top of their game, and superbly accompanied by the band, especially John Maul.

TR/ST at the Opera House was everything we were hoping for and more. The moment Robert Alfons walked onto the stage, the room was electrified. The set balanced the intensity and darkness of TR/ST’s sound with an almost intimate connection to the audience. The performance was relentless in the best possible way. The vocals were mesmerising, shifting effortlessly between vulnerability and menace, while the synths and driving beats hit with even greater force live than on record. Dark, hypnotic, emotional, and utterly captivating. A perfect reminder of why TR/ST remains one of the most compelling live electronic acts around. Everything we were hoping for.

Next best thing to seeing the original band , Jason certainly added cred to the performance with skill and complimented this with his anecdotes delivered between songs - Just enough to sate the appetite without being indulgent or crass or self indulgent. Very humble which is Aussies love !

Flowing, sublime,, fully immersive, brilliant and almost exclusively acoustic, balanced ambient neo-classical music...piano plus strings and percussion...so easy to listen to... he's a modern Mozart and back to Bach in his genre..one of my all-time favourites at opera house...

Opeth are prog pros. The music and the banter were top notch. Caligula’s Horse supported by bringing their signature transcendence. The Concert Hall let both bands down particularly in the sound department. The higher frequencies were splashy; the bass was vibrating (or at least it was for me in box X). And I will also avoid seeing an energetic metal show again in a fully seated venue. At least the staff were delightful.

The best concert I’ve ever been to. To combine the celebration of music with our journey to unity was so clever and so wholesome. The way Marlon used the stage was fantastic. And bro on the double bass has a meeeaaannn voice! Chur

Sadly I was unable to be there in person, but I was; in Spirit. So so glad she chose to come back to us here. Saw her in Canberra and was able to chat with Hania for a few minutes. <3

Rufus Wainwright was absolutely fabulous. The vocals and light setup was top notch and the whole atmosphere was heavenly. Plus, he had an opening act (that was later integrated into the show) called Folkbitch and they were absolutely amazing!! Overall, if you are a big fan (as I am) or someone just wanting to see a good show, this concert is the way to go!!

Excellent concert, the operations team were excellent. There was ample space for people to either have a great seated position on the steps or stand and have great visibility. Loads of food & beverage vans & pricing was on point and the food selection was high quality. Only challenge was the ambiguous comms between receiving physical “collector” style tickets and the emails from Ticketmaster to download tickets to the wallet which couldnt be done. We were informed when we were in the line we needed to print our tickets however the comms suggested that we couldnt print them. The Opera House pop up booth were happy to print off official tickets and we didnt miss a beat. Love an event at The Opera House. I find when there are several stakeholders in organising the event between Ticketmaster & Opera House the line of communication can be rather blurred. Other than a slight bump in the road, a brilliant event and a wonderful format.

Two Door Cinema Club were fantastic -Alex’s voice was so clear, the drums, keyboards & guitars were on amazing, you could tell all members were having a great time & everyone in the audience were with them. The screen behind with all the bright images conveying the meaning of each of their songs was riveting & genius. My favourite song is “This is the Life” & it was their opener - I knew from the beginning I was in for a memorable night. The Opera House is perhaps the best live door venue I have experienced which added to a perfect night!

Thirty six years after hearing them for the first time in German Radio we finally saw them live on stage in the best place one can imagine: front of the Sydney Opera House. One more check box ticked on a life’s Bucket list.

What a fantastic night. Missy Higgins is a phenomenal singer. Her voice is just beauty and sitting on the steps of the opera house felt like magic. Missy was funny and explained some of the backstory to her songs on the sound of white cd. The first set of her show was acoustic which i loved and she even forgot some chords and words to her own songs and in true Australian style said i buggered that up proving that she is human just like all of us. Would highly reccomed going to anyone of her shows. She will make you feel like your the only one in the room or steps for that matter.

She been around for a while now and has some great songs, she was fantastic on the night. If you have never heard of her it's because radio don't play her music, and is a huge crime. She got a standing ovation and truly deserved it. Check out some songs youtube such as Lazards Drug, Silencio, Limitless and many more. She played along side Ben Lee for a ballad and performed one of his hits "Catch My Desease', Great night all round. A national treasure.

Jim & Co. both looked and sounded amazing - their energy was captivating and electrified (or should I say sanctified) the audience. Jim's voice was amazingly on point and his energy was more akin to a show they would have done in the 80's or 90's - there was no slowing down. It was great to see that Sydney and performing in the iconic Opera House meant so much to them all. This was also the 2nd show of that same night - they had an earlier full set show at 6pm - and there was no signs of it, and felt like they could have easily done a midnight show! The band sounded incredible with throaty bass riffs, recording studio quality synth cues, red-hot lead licks and a drummer who frequently led the charge with the heartbeat of the band who also gave a pulse-racing stand alone solo that would have shamed Tommy Lee...and as I was sitting in the elevated side-on and to the back seats (so looking down at the band) she did this amazing audio assault with the kickdrums......in HIGH HEELS! Overall, an amazing show - please come back again!

The concert presented by Guy and his band was fantastic. Great musicians, quality back up singers, undoubtably a true talent in Guy pulling it all together. This coming from a die hard fan of 70's-80's Australian pub rock. Great night, fantastic venue. Sadly missed out on securing a commemorative tee shirt for my wife. 10 out of 10.

Absolutely fantastic, they never disappoint and seeing them in this setting with the Orchestra took their show to another level. I wish I had tickets to all 3 shows in Sydney as 1 night was not enough. Can't wait to see them next year again at Kiama Showground.

Absolutely brilliant performance. Stunning reimagining of BoT’s most popular songs. Standout songs (if that was even possible) were Hurt (cover of Johnny Cash’s cover of the Nine Inch Nails song = their description!) and Brace, a powerful symphonic masterpiece.

There was magic made in the SOH Drama studio at Jen's concert. I took my daughter , niece, sister and husband and we all were thrilled by the performance. The stage was filled with love and language that cut through to all the diverse ages and people in the room. I am a fan so I was itching to dance, but for my guests I think it was a perfect introduction to Jen's oeuvre and her skill. What I love best was the bringing to life of all the most important messages we need today in the world. Acceptance, willingness to listen, open hearted wondering, the environment, our mental health, our dignity and our need to be generous. Jen's songs give so much . My heart is full. She proved that music is the language of us all .

Wonderful show not only Katie Noonan but also Wendy Mathews, Ella Hooper, Melinda Schneider etc. I didn't know much about Joni Mitchell's music (Or as an Indian Lady directing people call her Johnny Mitchell which is understandable as a lot of people spell John as Jon) Excellent show
