Absolutely kicked ass!!! The best night of my life, I’ll never forget a second! Kim delivered and so much more. And the Sax solos, I can’t even! My neck is STILL sore and bruised, I wouldn’t have it any other way! Already saving for the next time they’re around (which is the God Mode Tour!)
30 years and still going strong…
Seen these guys many times and they never miss the mark! Terrific mixture of new jams and the classics on the set list. Great to see Wade back behind the kit ripping and cracking everyone up!
This was such a freaking good show! The black Tones just totally rocked it out and teenage me was ecstatic over Josie Cotton but for sure the Gimme Gimme's were absolutely amazing! Such an awesome venue such an awesome experience!
Absolutely amazing show! Took my breath away. The choice in songs were perfect and vessel sounds amazing live. If I could go daily I would :).
Probably the most entertaining show I’ve ever been to. The whole squad in sleep token just know how to put in a show!
Truthfully I wasn't expecting a full band accompaniment and was blown away by the energy, musicianship, and vocal power of the performance. The mix was perfect at the venue (North Park Observstory), and it was an amazing evening, one of the top 5 shows if have experienced. I even contemplated following the band from
San Diego to their next fig in Tucson, it was that good. God bless live music and they amazing folks that travel around the world sharing their talent, stories and hearts. Bravo!
During the set, Soupy said “This is the best that we (the band) have ever been” and that “‘The Hum Goes on Forever’ is our best album to date”. Boy, he wasn’t lyin! This show was one of those rare, life changing live performances that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you, The Wonder Years, for sharing your music and your lives with us. We are eternally grateful. 🙏
Circle jerks were awesome as always, The North Park Observatory could turn their AC up during a heat wave...it was the HOTTEST show I have been to ever...and you had to stand in line to catch a breath of air...NOT SAFE.
This show was amazing. I liked MUNA, but I walked out of there LOVING MUNA. I didn’t realize when I went in that they were going to rock my face off. They do a REALLY good live show. There are some moments from this show that I think are seared into my brain forever.
So, I liked MUNA when I heard them, but I was in a long phase of not listening to music. Around the time I saw Anaïs Michelle at the Hollywood Forever Masonic Lodge, my sister also invited me to this show specifically because Jensen McRae was opening, who she had been following for years and been trying to see since before COVID times. After Anaïs, I made an effort to start listening to music again, and I put MUNA on rotation to get to know the songs and prepare for this show. I wasn’t prepared for my life to like, totally change?
VENUE:
The location for this venue is killer (street parking, walkable, so many local food options) and I think the interior is also great, except that this venue has some major drawbacks. Firstly, their rules about what can and can’t come in are not well-publicized- they weren’t in the venue info with the tickets (I returned to my car 2 separate times while my sister was in the security line, to put away my stainless water bottle, and our purses that were barely too large, and still didn’t learn until the checkpoint they also don’t permit birdie alarms inside. Oh well, I know for next time). Worse than that, this venue is hotter than the 7th circle of hell in warm weather. So Cal in August is WARM, but it’s San Diego, not Riverside! It was evening time, cooling off outside very pleasantly by the time we got in, but stifling inside. It only got worse as it filled up, and we like many others, wore masks indoors due to the close quarters. Waiting for both Jensen and MUNA, I was getting concerned for peoples’ safety. (I work in a very high heat environment, so while very unhappy, I knew I could handle it, but I was definitely concerned for my sister). We decided not to drink, even though we had planned on it. I’m talking standing totally motionless, fanning yourself and still having sweat running down your back and both legs, because it’s like 90 degrees indoors. There’s a small amount of cool airflow in a ton of little bitty dot grates on the floor. That’s innovative, but it wasn’t enough. I don’t expect huge old buildings to have great AC, but they need to be ventilated better, to try to be able match the indoor temperature to the outdoor one, (especially with constant outbreaks of airborne viruses like COVID and measles). There’s a missed opportunity in this venue to have side doors open to get a cross breeze, and to have big vent fans behind their beautiful latticed ceiling grates that pull the warm air out through the roof and allow the cool air from the side doors or floor vents in. It was INSANE how hot it was in there, and I think this venue is very lucky any summer night that they don’t have patrons getting sick or injured with serious heat illnesses. I would see another show at the Observatory because I love San Diego and North Park, but ONLY in cooler weather seasons.
The actually event was great, the music was great, and some friends were made… however, my only complain was the entire crowd bum-rushing the front-stage to the point my boyfriend (who was the reason we went) was having a rough time bc he was more focused on protecting me than the concert… people were very rude about that. Other than that it was great
What a fantastic show!! Niko took the time after the concert to take a picture with anyone that wanted too. There is no better artist out there, when it comes to appreciating his fans. The whole band was on point, and the set was great!!
This has been one of my favorite bands Since elementary school and I finally got to see them in person. They put on a Great show and sound very polished live. Great venue as well; got to stand at the rail
The show was great, but couldn’t get merchandise. The line was crazy long and stood in the wrong spot a few times before I gave up. I would have spent a good chunk of change if I had the opportunity.
Amazing openers. The Observatory was the perfect place for a sold out Last Dinos concert. Everything was smooth from getting in to getting drinks and merch. If you are going to a Los Dinos concert be sure to get there an hour early if you want spots at the front and/or merch.
didn’t like the fact that we had to stand for the whole concert. although, the concert did say standing. i just felt like it invaded people’s spaces and it was all squished. but the best thing was that it was so cool to see georgee, rei brown, and keshi all in one since i love them a lot. would go again!
The band was very forgiving during a technical challenge involving the venue’s PA. Thinking that the delay would reduce their performance time Adrianne announced that there would only be 45 minutes of the set they could play due to curfew. Good news came immediately when the venue took the hit and extended time for the full set.
So many highlights. I had always heard that Big Thief were phenomenal performers and I wholeheartedly agree. Excellent sampling of
“Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You”. including “Simulation Swarm”.
“Not” was a tremendous crowd pleaser and I really started to believe that Adrianne was one with the guitar. The sound quality and mix were brilliant allowing the subtlety of the high hat touches to resonate as much as the high volume guitar solos.
Mildly Disappointed that they didn’t play “Shark Smile”, but what they shared more than made up for the absence.
OUTRAGEOUS!!!
We attend many concerts every year and this BY FAR blew our minds!!! Teddy was amazing and his band is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Hope he comes back to San Diego real soon!!! This is a show you DO NOT want to miss!!!
one of the best concerts I’ve been to, and I’ve been to quite a few, but the way they captivated the audiences attention and interacted with us was unreal. They sound EXACTLY as they do on their album, which is difficult to achieve for most artists. Thank you guys !!! I’ll be buying tickets to your next tour
K.Flay you were absolutely amazing. Like I knew the show was going to be freaking awesome but wow it’s been a while since someone has wowed me! Ty for rocking our worlds and getting me connected to music again. It was worth of VIP upgrade it was worth everything!
Amazing!! Seriously, one of the best concerts I've ever been too. Had such a great time. She blew me away. I'm a big fan and this was the first time I saw her live. I'll never forget it. One of my favorite concert experiences.
Thrice sounded good but the audio mix was was horrible for the openers. The security also gets on your case about leaving the property after you get a wristband. Not my favorite venue but Thrice was great (even though Dustin was getting over the flu)
