This makes the 2nd time seeing the Zombies. Saw them last year also. Great music and singing! They rocked the venue. Everybody loved the show. Hope they come back soon!
Lúnasa always puts on a great show! I will always see them when they come to town. Their arrangement of trad tunes is phenomenal and every member of the band is a tremendous player. Great tunes and good humour in between the tunes.
Great venue -- no bad seats! The band was OUTSTANDING! My first time hearing them. You could not keep from moving along to each song, the lyrics were interesting, funny, poignant, and their musicality was brilliant! They've made a bluegrass fan out of me and a Steep Canyon Rangers fan, for sure!
They work together, so well there is so much talent. The music was very uplifting. Had a great time. Very comfortable seats at the old town school of folk music. The area where they were selling T-shirts is too crowded. There’s only one person working there.

Miko Marks and her top-notch musicians gave us a night to remember. Miko's powerful and soulful voice must be heard to be believed. It's the first concert Ive experienced in which I actually liked every song. Miko has the gift of drawing the audience in by introducing each song with a small glimpse into her personal life. As a result, each song was delivered with powerful emotion. In addition, Steve Wyreman, a gifted songwriter and producer, accompanied Miko on lead guitar. I would put him right up there with Clapton. At the end Miko and each band member took the time to mingle with the audience. They couldn't have been nicer.
Terrific show! Tom Paxton continues to shine, with wit, humor, warm sentiments and wonderfully singalong-able music and fun patter. He's still a national treasure.
Of course, The Old Town School of Folk Music is a great venue: perfect size, great sight lines and sound system, comfortable seats.
The old town school of folk music venue was great! Excellent view from any seat and the sound was amazing. The lighting crew added some magic to Trevor's touching performance. Loved hearing his journeys that led to the soulful songs. I could listen to him all night.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. What a great night. Legendary artist absolutely nailed the performance. What a great venue. So much fun. One of the greatest musical experiences I've ever had.
Carrie Newcomer's performance was extraordinary and even better than recordings that are available. Her voice is extraordinarily expressive and wide-ranging with amazing control, and the pianist's connection was heartfelt. I love her sense of humor and playfulness. Her songs are poetry set to music and the poetry reflects what's in her heart. She sees her mission as bringing people together in difficult times with the communality of music. She proved that is possible with several songs which the audience sing with her. She touches me every time she sings "you can do this hard thing." She touched my 35-year-old son with him saying, "she just described the last two years of my life."
Carrie is a great performer. She has a great voice and a greater message of love and tolerance. There was an opening act, Mike Greene, who is new on the performance scene. He was good and will be better with more stage experience. Carrie' s show was well put together between her songs and appropriately brief introductions and background information. She read a poem out of her collection which was appreciated by me. S
The small concert space was excellent with no seats more than 45 feet from the singer. My seat in the first row of the balcony gave me an excellent, intimate view of the performance.
I saw Rodney Crowell at Sony Hall May 2nd, not in Chicago. Regardless, it was a fantastic show. Rodney Crowell and the band were so incredible! So much talent on one stage with great songs one after the other. I didn’t want it to end
Graham was outstanding as always. He can still hit the high notes. Pretty incredible for 81!
Wonderful and intimate venue. We would return and recommend to friends in a heartbeat!

This was a great show. Everyone’s playing was amazing and they create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I can’t wait for them to come back to town
Parker and Patty with her band were terrific! A lot of new material from Parker - looking forward to the new album ( hope he releases the song that did not make the cut "final curtain" [ ? ] ) Patty is a treasure!
5 stars for the Weight Band. Love Old Town School of Folk Music (venue). Really appreciated the band's mixing of songs (between The Band, friends of The Band and the Weight originals). Hopefully, the group will return to Chicago next year to play again.
Even while he's now in his mid-70's, Bruce's voice and playing remain stellar. Thursday night, be was so relaxed and seemed to be having such a good time from the very beginning, answering a question from the crowd about one of his guitars. He appeared to have as good a time as we did. Loved it, and hope to get another opportunity to see him again soon.
Mastery is the perfect word for each of these artists. Watching Herb Ohta, Jr. play a four-string ukulele and your mind thinks it’s listening to a 12-string guitar. Then George Kahumoku plays a 12-string and you think it’s an orchestra. Ledward Kaapana steps in with a “mere” six-string and adds the final flourish of “oh my …” Each talk story giving depth to their songs. Together, you feel like your in their private club house with their living jabs and modest self-deprecating wit. A must see for anyone who appreciates life.
Guys, This was my third Darlingside Concert and the best one out of the three. My guys from Cambridge, Massachusetts put on a great performance and if they don't win a Grammy this year then J don't know who will. It was 70 degrees in Chicago the day of the concert and I got to Lincoln Square and The Old Town School of Folk early and met my guys from Williams College as their van pulled up. I helped the guys with their gear and instruments and we took selfies and fun was had by all. I've met the gents before and it was good to touch base and chat. The concert was sold out and Darlingside put me in a state of Euphoria during and even after the concert as they always do! Bravo Darlingside for another great and historical show!
