Mortal American Body puts on amazing show with incredible presence and tone. They engage so well with the crowd, in a good way. Emotionally riveting. Poetic lyrics.
The line up in this show was also really really good. Soft Echo was amazing. Hadn't heard this band and they definitely found a spot on my playlist. Bleu Grave also played -- they have a nostalgic guitar tone similar to Joy Division/New Order which comprise some of my absolute favorite music. Allo Monroe is also a great band. Lead man has a great vibe and voice.
Velour venue is so fun. Awesome ambiance with a balance of comfort and edge. Friendly staff and sound team is amazing.
Highly recommend finding Mortal American Body on Spotify and finding a show date to go see them live.
It felt so vulnerable. My partner and I cried when the tigers came out and the final song. Great concert, if you are looking for an artist that touches you in the feels it is victor jones.
This is the 5th time that my daughter and I have seen these guys, and I don’t think this experience will EVER be topped. We were the first fans to arrive, and Lachlan and Jasper were right behind us as we walked up to the venue. These guys totally know us by face, and Lach asked about my oldest daughter who wasn’t there, but who has been with me to see them 3 times before. When he learned that she is on a mission, he made a video with my phone to pass along to her—so stinkin’ cool. We talked about this 10th anniversary Wellness tour, and I let him know how excited we were to hear them play THE SONG (“Purist”) that hooked us and got us to explore their catalog and become lifelong fans so many years ago. I let Lachlan know that it is still my middle daughter’s fave tune and she was super stoked to see it live tonight, and then I mentioned how it would mean so much to her (and me of course) if they wouldn’t mind letting me sit in to play the drums to the track. He discussed it with the boys, and then invited me in to soundcheck with them on the tune! I played it with them, they said it was “perfect”, and said for me to be ready come showtime—what??!!
When that track was up on the setlist, I put in monitors and played that song live with this awesome band, and both my daughter and the crowd went NUTS—BEST CONCERT EXPERIENCE EVER!! Jasper gave me the drumsticks, Michael gave me his pick, and I am STILL smiling a full day after—probably will be for a number of days. Thank you, thank you, thank you Last Dinosaurs—can’t wait to see you yet again!
That was an absolutely amazing show. Hearing Forest Slater live was such an awesome experience and I really hope he does more live events in the future.
The Venue is super cool. It feels like the artist is singing to you. Judd and Evan crushed it last night. They sounded so good and his new stuff is amazing. Very melancholy, but the songs don’t leave you depressed, but hopeful and inspired. Also, Judd is just a very nice guy.
I came just to see Garon, he is so good! I discovered him when he opened for EJ Michels at Velour and fell in love! Second time around was just as good!
The venue at The Velour was so unique and bohemian and intimate! You were able to see and hear each performer well. Stephanie and all the other singers were fantastic! Would recommend coming here at least once, can be a fun night out with friends.
Kylanne is AMAZING!!! Her voice is incredible and angelic. She really knows how to captivate a crowd. Catchy songs and just an all around good vibe to be around.
Dope show, weird venue with a bunch of odd trinkets and nick knacks everywhere. Like Grandmas house on drugs.
Opening act Tishmal was really good, seen them a few times open for a few groups and they have been consistently dope every time. Big fan.
Moth was awesome and they sounded fantastic. Usually with small groups like this you don’t hear the crowd singing every lyric but the venue was filled with a small but obviously devoted fan base. Which made for an energetic, exciting performance. Surprised these guys aren’t bigger with songs like “Young and Unafraid”, “Red Flag”, and their new single “The New Great Depression” the show solidified me as a fan forever. Awesome performances tonight.
