Barrowland Ballroom

Great to see The Almighty back on St. Andrews Day. Every year this band gets better and better. They are ably supported by Wolfsbane who were the perfect support band getting the energy levels high with a blindingly good set. The Almighty's set this year felt better paced after last year when they were a bit slow in the middle. Very little chit chat and fast paced Rock n Roll. The crowds were totally up for it and the band delivered. At times Ricky couldn't get a word in for the crowd chanting all f*****g mighty 🤘😁. Everybody left happy knowing they'll be back at the same time in the same place next year for what has become an annual pilgrimage.

Max McNown is a very talented and all round brilliant performer and person ! His band is simply incredible .! The Barrowlands ballroom is an iconic building and perfect for intimate gigs ..sound quality is brilliant.. We enjoyed an incredibly AMAZING gig from Max McNown and his band !! :) and enjoyed the venue also !

Wow wow wow. B****y awesome gig, Stephen and his band were absolutely amazing. Very emotional and the Barrowlands crowd were fantastic as always and I think surprised Stephen. Father’s son was a standout moment where Stephen asked us to turn phone torches on and then we literally lit up the Barrowlands.

Absolutely unforgettable concert. The place was jumping. At times it felt intimate, other times frenetic and fun. Cannot explain how good it was. I really like his music and he is a fantastic song writer, but live. Holy s**t. Amazing. I got pre-show tickets as well and they were worth every penny. Genuinely talented guy, down to earth, funny, and cannot speak more highly. 10/10. Even signed my Starfleet cap and gave me the Vulcan Salute 🖖 😂 I would definitely buy tickets again. So good.

So great to see this band back together after a 5 year hiatus. A very humble bunch of guys appreciative of the fan base that came back to see them and allowed them to shift to bigger venues than they thought they could fill. Their set started with a nice group harmony piece reflective of the gang being back together with phil. Their set moves through the established hits with upbeat rhythm that get you moving then into some of the lesser known songs. There's a bit of a lull in the middle that needs an injection of pace but when the pace does pick up again it's quality. I hope they stay together and release more albums with that bouncy rhythm of Oh Lorraine, white bear, built in forgetter, backwater zoo and the grit of Only Friend .

It was my first time to the Barras and I thought the venue was amazing - an ideal size (c 1800) with decent acoustics and a decorative high ceiling (!). There was plenty of space near the back for those, like me and my pal, wanting to avoid the mosh pit antics and beer showers. Airbourne were great - really high energy, leaping about the stage, reminiscent of early AC/DC days: loud, fast rock n roll. They snuck in a wee bit of AC/DC's "Dog Eat Dog" near the end for good measure and the last song in the encore set ("Running Wild") was preceded by a stirring rendition of "Scotland the Brave", with the lead singer/guitarist Joel O'Keeffe hoisting a Scottish Saltire flag across some of the Marshall cabinets (a nod to AC/DC playing Loch Lomond in their Bon Scott days at the Apollo). Joel threw loads of plastic pint glasses filled with beer to the audience, who tried with varying degrees of success to catch them! He seemed to do this before the start of just about all of the songs! Another nod to AC/DC was Joel playing a guitar solo on the shoulders of a strong roadie whilst he walked through the crowd. I recall Angus Young doing this in the late 70's. The songs and solos are quite like AC/DC too, so I was in my element. I'd swatted up on the setlist beforehand so I knew what to expect and the band delivered high volume rock and roll in spades. I liked that the band took a minute or so between numbers, and Joel interacted well with the crowd, who responded with the (famous?) Glasgow chant of "here we, here we, here we ******** go".

Opeth are true masters of their craft: individually exceptional musicians and an extraordinary ensemble. The set showcased most of their numerous incarnations from their 30-year journey, and the excellent sound in the Barrowland had no issue with intense death prog or with elegant, sparse, quiet secrions such as in Häxprocess and In My Time of Need. Special mention to newish member Waltteri Väyrynen whose drumming showed great touch and musicality. Although there was some fatigue in Mikael's voice in the upper register, this being the last gig of the tour, its sheer quality carried him through. He is a compelling, funny frontman, for whom there's no fourth wall. If anything I sometimes wished there was a bit more artifice, more theatre, because the songs warrant it, and his chatting away almost felt a bit disengaged from the music. But that's a minor quibble on a great night.

always a brilliant gig, easily one of the best live bands around with a huge repertoire, ive seen them 8 times, every gig is different. This is my all time favorite Damned lineup, and im very happy to see them with Scabies and Gray. outstanding rythm section. Sensible and Vanian have brilliant and relaxt stage rapport, always comical and fresh. they all clearly are having fun, and that makes every gig special.

Followed them for 2 years after watching roaming in the wild and last night was the first time I got to see them live ....and I'll tell you one thing it definitely won't be the last absolutely loved every single minute of it Well done to all of you Thank you ❤️

Gig was absolutely superb in what is the best gig venue (no stupid leaving the gig to go to the bar like in some more modern venues). All three bands on gig were awesome, amazing value. Best night in ages. Many thanks to all who put it on and organised it. 😎❤️👌

Outstanding best show at the Barrowlands since the V****a Boys last year and that’s saying something. Wasn’t sure of the latest album but all those tracks plus his back catalogue delivered with power and energy and true rattlesnake style . Been going to the Barrowlands for 30 years and this is up there with best I’ve ever seen .

Put on a brilliant show at the Barrowland Ballroom, perfect size of venue too, 0ne of the last great venues left. The crowd and the band were feeding off each other in the best way, the set was great, good to hear some new stuff, fantastic banter and, Glasgow as always proved itself the best place for live music! It felt like they were playing a home town gig, really great sound from Thomas the engineer also!! Just an epic set from a great band, massive sound. Recommended.

Corey was one of the artists that got me into country and seeing him live was a dream! If you heard a girl belting Gold just know it was me and I only wish his set was longer. Hopefully the grumpy oldies didn’t put you off, 100% will be looking out for you in Edinburgh/Glasgow xox

1 of the support acts couldn’t play so it was the other one for an hour which was a bit boring as i didn’t really like their vibe so was tired for palaye coming on. they were still very good, just didn’t really vibe with the support which caused a downer on the night

Still buzzin two days later from the energy and joy of this gig at this venue. Opening with Gumshield, got to barrier by Bruce Willis woo hoo! closing with Teeshirt, so many laughs and so much love on stage and in the crowd. Best gig of the year. 🖤🖤🖤 we’re going out with a bang, still got all those hooks in my head 🖤

Really enjoyed this! Ricky Montgomery was a perfect starting act, while I didn’t experience an interaction I saw how nice Ricky and Cavetown where being to the fans in the front and it just had this perfect aura. Robbie kept reminding people about the water getting given out if the need it, the sound was perfect you could hear it clear as day and every single person who played was so talented! Would 1000% come again if he plays at this venue again.

Death grips are by far the best band i've ever seen live. The sheer energy of the band and crowd just make for an unforgettable and amazing experience. Only thing i would say is, if you don't like intense crowds, go towards the back as i am literally covered in bruises...best night of my life hehe

F*****g legendary performance as always. Support was Starbenders, who instantly created an insane energy that never once faltered throughout either bands set. By the time Palaye came on, everyone was absolutely in good spirits, covered in a most righteous amount of sweat, and eager for more, and by god did they deliver more. Hope to see both bands back in Glasgow in future, cannot recommend seeing either of them enough

I queued in the f*****g freezing cold all day, and then inside I did faint and subsequently threw up which slightly took away from the experience, but was a fun set, Dodie had a lot of energy and my friend made loads of coloured hearts for she which looked amazing !! It was the first time I’ve ever gotten barrier at a show which was really exciting for me, and also my first concert in another country (I’m from England). The two opening artists, Orla Gartland and Kawala were really entertaining.

I’ve been to 100’s of live gigs and Tom’s appreciation to the unique Scottish audience was second to none. Mans head was blown off by the crowd which was awesome to watch, whilst maintaining that husky voice nearly all the time (humming the rest as he forgot words 😂) Scotland can’t wait to have you back Tom and I for sure will buy more tickets!
