Absolutely amazing live performance.
This is our third time seeing the Minks and, as usual, they were amazing!
They are my wife’s favorite band! They did great!
The show was fantastic! Whether it’s acoustic or electric, ET always delivers the goods and leaves the audience wanting more. We heard his latest 2024 song, Good News. He’s a brilliant musician/storyteller. Ethan seemed much more confident and playful than he was at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall last fall. It was his first tour and the venue with rows of folding chairs set up “lecture hall style” made the atmosphere feel stiff and repressive. It probably helped that his sister was in the audience and he had the accompaniment of a band trio backing him up. The Hideout venue is off the Chicago beaten path, but is intimate, friendly and the drinks are cheap. Wide beer selection at $4-$5. There’s a nice outdoor patio in front with picnic tables. I’m looking forward to watch ET’s success explode in the coming years.
Absolutely rocking! Ive seen the band many times before, and this show was extra high energy. The keyboard playing by Justin Bell really added a great layer. Highly recommend. They will be back in Chicago for the Forth of July.
Finom is my favorite band writing and playing music today. I’ve never heard or seen anything like them and their songwriting craft and musicianship is top-tier. Their music is what I would call deconstructed rock with siren harmonies. They always have interesting time signatures and guitar riffs along with fantastic drum grooves. Their newest album is by far the best and most accessible. So many great bangers and rock ballads. Love love, love the show.
We enjoyed the Brother Brothers show...it was our second time seeing them live, and the first time with the band. Having the band rounded out the sound to be more like the recordings, which was great! Overall, I thought the acoustics in the venue left a bit to be desired, the sound was not as crisp as I expected. Many thanks to the Hideout staff for reserving us a table!!
The perfect show - I danced, I sang, I laughed until I cried - and I just cried. It was so so good! If you get a chance to see Kate Yeager GOOOOO - it will be an amazing night, I promise!
A mix of Chicago and John Mayer. Outstanding.
What a great space to enjoy an amazing band! We had a wonderful time!
Excellent! I’m a groupie! Great young band with a great sound. Very tight! Quality folks I like to call my friends.
Xoxo
Great show. Thanks for that encore!
Sound system was not the best. We could hear a lot of static. Show it self was awesome. Could have used some more chairs.
Overall it was a great event. The performer opening for Reina Del Cid was not to my taste but I wasn't there to see her.
Reina and her group did a great job at giving us a non stop wonderful time. The ONLY thing I could add, and it is a very small negative was with the venue and the fact that Reina beings in many "older people" who have a hard time standing through a whole concert. There were o chairs to sit in when we entered BUT several young men went out of their way to bring in a few rows of folding hairs (which was awesome). I guess I would say that if at all possible the venue or the act should communicate or ask if the audience is possibly made up of older folks so the chairs would already be set up and there would not be a scramble. BUT this is a very small thing in an overall fantastic evening.
Oh, one other thing which I know is a polarizing issue. Reina Del Cid had to cancel several of their previous shows because a couple of them contracted Covid. My daughter and myself were the only people in that small area wearing masks. The band did not come out after the show for a meet and greet because of the Covid issue (which is totally understandable) and I guess I am throwing my two cents in that in small venues like Hideout we should respect the bands and the acts because this is their job and with that many people unmasked it puts a real concern for the band who cannot wear masks on stage. that they may lose concert dates and struggle with rescheduling not withstanding their health.
I understand completely the "were done with this Covid crap" and the draining effect it has on us all but the science has not changed so we should respect these wonderful people who work so hard to make us happy.
Good stuff all around from all three bands.
Loud as hell! Raucous and tight. Bringing former Mekon, Sally Timms, on Stage was an amazing bonus. The show cost 5 bucks and there were probably about 40 people in the audience to witness it.
I got to meet her after the show! It was so great. She's so nice to talk to. Her interview is incredibly entertaining and give you a lot of insight as to what it's like to be an artist.
Awesome show! Can’t wait to catch them next time!
