Roseland Theater

This was my second concert at Roseland Theater. Much better experience this time than 3 years ago, the facility was cleaner and much less rattle noises coming from the ceiling due to overwhelming bass. The three opening bands, being Franklin Jonas and the Byzantines, Nightly, and Grayscale were all you could hope for. They slowly but continuously brought the energy in the room higher and higher. Nightly was the only band I had not seen live (but have listened to quite a bit) and they were a special stand out to me. Grayscale was the heaviest group and really make the room lively. And then we move on to The Maine. This band feels so down to earth and friendly with the audience. They are quite casual and crowd focused, yet their musicality is top notch as well. I usually hate cringe-worthy crowd work, but The Maine feel approachable instead of forced. Of course their music and setlist was amazing. It catered to no particular crowd. New hits, big hits, and old gems, they played them all. A beautiful moment occurred when every single band was on stage at once playing and singing a song lesser known. They encouraged the crowd to put arms over shoulders and embrace the community. Such a great ending to a show I would have regretted missing.

Amazing show. Gunna be honest it was a Wednesday show. I was tired/grumpy; as was my work wifey. We are pushing 40 now and week night shows are rough with kids. We were so glad we came. The music was gorgeous. The sound was full and lush. Thrice was there to perform with an almost ethereal quality to the performance. The setlist was thoughtful with down songs mixed in and built towards a moshing crescendo. It was a great blend of all of their work from early 2000's (why we were there) to present. The crowd was there for it and it was magical. Just the pick me up for the middle of the week.

The show was absolutely amazing!! Braden Bales opened and was amazing, seeing two of my favorite artists together was amazing. Due to the heat the concert did stop a few times but both Braden and Livingston made sure everyone was okay. Livingston made sure that whenever the medics were helping someone that the crowd stayed quiet so that he could also make sure they were okay, Braden did the same. I paid extra for the vip and loved the experience before the show. We kept one of the songs going after the song ended and Livingston was amazed by it commenting on how we were the first to do that during the tour. Overall an amazing experience.

If the volume wasn't set to Moda level, number 12. It would have been better set to 8. The Roseland isn't that big, but it's a great place. The band lineup was top-notch. First time hearing Thrown into Exile, go see them wherever they are playing. Awesome guys to talk to also. Fit for an Autopsy also great to see, and in this venue, they shined. What can I say about Alissa and her backup band? LOL 😆 Just kidding guys, you're all A+++ musicians and performers. You know how to put on a show and leave a crowd screaming for more.

JoJo is thriving & glowingggg. The show was amazing and I was ready for every song she sang. I love that she played at such an intimate venue and her opener, Emmy Meli, was the perfect opener. Jojo vibes with a twist. Really hoping JoJo comes back soon and does another intimate venue. There was a slight scare during the 1st half of the performance and JoJo was quick to cut her singing and raise attention towards the crowd calling out for a medic. I’ve admired this woman since 4th grade, she deserves more recognition. 💛

Always a treat to see our man of the hour — and this time not having a break the bank just to travel! Haha! Blackie and crew are such magnificent hosts and really go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome on top of putting on a fine show! Jay has been nothing but absolutely courteous and very accommodating (and a really fun guy!) with VIP guests . It’s always wonderful to just sit down and chat with Blackie; it really feels like a genuine hangout, just sharing each others’ stories without the pressure of putting on any airs or façades, or even feeling rushed or pressured. The WASP team really, truly take their time with the fans! Here’s to hoping we get more gigs in the PNW in the future! Love y’all!!! Stay sweet and keep on rockin’! 🖤🖤🖤

Barn’s as always brought the energy from the get go and did not stop until the end. Opening for Thre Struts , Courtney didn’t bother with any of his slower songs, instead he decided to keep the crowd at a full boil and accomplished this in a tight and frenzied set that showed his vocal range and innate ability to involve the crowd in his act.Crowd surfing and singing amongst them Barns showed why he is usually the main act but proved as an opening one that he definitely sets a high bar for whoever follows that they best bring their A game if they don’t want to be outshined.

Absolutely brilliant performance. The energy of the band and crowd was great. The show would have been five stars, were it somewhere else. Roseland has some of the worst acoustics of any venue in town, except for Crystal Ballroom which is equally bad. Joe has an issue hearing his m monitor and had to sit out the first half of Mother. Luckily, the crowd was versed enough with the song to fill in the vocals, which was great. At the last show I saw there, the opening act for Big Thief almost walked off the stage. It amazes me how they continue to be able to book such great bands with the sound being so terrible. Multiple acts have voiced their frustration, but nothing seems to change. Idles, if you’re listening, I’d love to see you again at a better venue. Perhaps outdoors at Edgefield, at the Schnitzer Auditorium or Revolution Hall. That being said, staff was friendly and helpful.

Reflecting on a journey of musical evolution, from my attendance of the SF concert with powerman5000 and dope in 2000 to the present, it’s been an incredible ride. 🎸 From the early days of blasting Static-X and Dope in my truck, giving my kid her first taste of metal, to seeing her giggle with the raw energy of the music – it’s been a gift. 🎶 Though Wayne Static is no longer with us, Xer0 has stepped in seamlessly, honoring Wayne’s legacy with every note. At the recent show, my daughter, her boyfriend, and I were united in the rhythm, headbanging to the powerful anthems of Static-X, Dope, Soulfly, and others. 🤘 Surrounded by fellow fans, we celebrated not just the bands, but the community they’ve created. I was really looking forward to this show. I have always loved the tones and clarity on their albums and videos but the sound for this show was horrible. I don't know if it is the band fault or the venue. Probably the venue but I have been there for other concerts and the sound was great. The look of the show was great, just wish I could hear the vocals and guitar with crisp drums. I hope to see them again sometime at a different venue and hope for a better sound system.

Well, maybe I'm ignorant and "old" but I'm still a rocker, if you will. It has been a while since I've been to a concert, but not so long that I can't appreciate instrument's that are played well, and good lyrics. Again, maybe this is my fault for attending a concert at a small venue, I don't know. What I do know is that every band I listened to that night, turned the volume up for the bass and the drums so high I felt like I was waaay too close to the fireworks! I could barely/not hear the other instrument's that looked like they were being played. The bass hits were percussive in my chest and so frequent I felt like someone was trying to break up my kidney stones from the outside! Seriously, that c**p was too loud (and yes I was wearing hearing protection). When Clutch finally played my favorite song, I could barely understand or hear the lyrics. A whole bunch of people damaged their hearing that night... I've got some friends and family members who damaged their hearing and we all suffer now. They do because they can't hear and we do because it's so frustrating to try and talk to them. I like Clutch and their music, just not in a venue like the Roseland theater, and definitely not so loud.

It was one of the best nights of my life! Sometimes you worry you're bothering the rest of the crowd with your singing and dancing, and then there are concerts like this one where everyone in that room is on exactly the same high you are and the musicians can bring magic to life. K.flay was everything I could hope for! Talented, honest, and real. Her voice was the same on stage as it is on the studio recording and she owned that stage!

Suki was incredible as always and I loved that her guitarist opened he was amazing too. I give this concert a three because the people in the crowd were very disrespectful. The people behind me kept screaming as loud as they could (which would have been somewhat ok, but it was CONSTANT), and most people just didn’t understand proper concert etiquette. Also, the audio was not the best. I feel like many of the instruments over powered Suki’s voice and made it hard to hear her.

An amazing performance from all the bands. My personal favorites were Obituary and Amon Amarth. Obituary played a short set but surprised me when they played their version of Celtic Frost's "Circle of the Tyrants". Amon Amarth were epic and brutal at the same time. I especially loved when a large portion of the crowd including myself got down to row along to their song "Out your back into the oar". One of the most fun shows I've been to that's for sure!

Trivium killed it last night! They played an amazing set and kept the crowd going! It has been a long time since I have been to a concert with such energy. I wasn’t a fan of a couple of the bands that were supporting them but that is just personal preference and won’t talk bad about any of them. They all did play their hearts out for us and definitely gave us our moneys worth. When and if Trivium comes back, especially as a headliner, I will be seeing them again and maybe doing a meet and greet if it is offered. Thanks again Trivium for the amazing performance and awesome stage set up. I am a fan for life.

the show in itself was good. the band before the headlining band Arch Enemy was Behemoth and they sounded perfect, as close to the album as possible but Arch Enemy sounded "muddy" . thier harmonies were 100% perfect, they were heavy as f**k, but it all just sounded muddy ( i konw i said this already but its the only way i can exain it. i know sometimes it isnt the bands fault as it maybe because of house sound. without a doubt ill see them again.

I've been waiting for this show ever since it was announced. I went into the show being a huge fan of Manchester and needing something of a cathartic experience to let go of the past year or two. I got all of that and more. The new album is gorgeous and nearly every one of my favorite tracks from the bands history were played tonight. Michigander and Foxing were also so impressive. I will see each separately should they come back to town. Both are now added to my spotify rotation. Amazing show and thank you. ❤

Post a memory? Okay, I've seen this wonderful group of talented musicians like five times, the first time was in Salem, Or. @ Corbin College. Alien Youth Tour. Driving down the road and I hear the first few notes of You Are My Hope and tears come as I think of my son who was with me at the time. I wanted to go to this show so bad and show support but I would have had to buy multiple tickets. I am still so bummed out. Especially getting to see them in a small venue!

Whiskey Myers was awesome. They play hard and fast and clearly had a blast doing it. I’ll go see them again when they come back through town, no question. They added 3-4 minutes to some of their best songs going on runs and jamming. Five stars for their effort and performance. Two stars for the venue. Venue staff was great, but the mics, acoustic balance and lights all sucked. Cody Cannon couldn’t get more that a few inches away from the lead mic before his voice would completely cut out. John Jeffers and Cody Tate would be running licks together up front, with one spotlighted and the other completely in the dark. Acoustic guitar, harmonica and subtler parts of the performance could barely be heard.

The Distillers lived up to there reputation in every way. They were there for the crowd and all of us in the crowd at Roseland cheered on their reunion show as if they have always been with us. They came to play as they are known to do. The Distillers show was the best show I have ever seen, based on letting the music and the heartfelt emotions do the talking. They didn’t need any special effects to tell us they are back with us again! Andy “Break out” Granelli on the drums, never seems to show any fatigue. He is ever the powerful, presence that kept the band on tempo and propelled them onward all night long. He was the best drummer for this job of a reunion, for he is the best punk drummer I have ever seen. We wouldn’t let them get away without an encore from writer Brody Dalle, lead vocals, and guitar, and the band’s main song writer, Andy Granelli, on drums, Ryan Sinn on electric bass guitar ,and Tony Bevilacqua on lead guitar. What perfect choices to get the real peak powers of the Distillers of the 2nd and 3rd albums back together again! It looked liked one happy musical family reunion to me. It was a night I will never forget. Thank you Bands in Town. Thank you Distillers! Miss Jasmine Stewart
